If you have then please explain how the same face of the moon is possible to see everywhere on Earth on a flat pancake disc? But I can even give you some other proofs. Things I did as young kid, so not that hard. 1) Horizon Drop - get clear u shaped tube and put some water in it (coloured water is best). Take onto highest altitude you can and measure how much lower the horizon is to level of that tubed water, which is more then down at lower ground level. 2) How come you can never see the Sun or Moon obeying laws of perspective ... they should get bigger the closer they get to you and should appear to move quicker the closer they get. And the reverse when moving away? 3) There are only 3 celestial objects in the sky that ever appear in a crescent shape. The moon is one, but there are 2 others. What are they? And how come those 2 others appear as crescents but no other planets or other celestial objects do? 4) Tracking the Sun and you can see what is called analemma (although did not know what it was called until many years later in middle school science class). So how does the Sun do that on a flat earth, and more importantly how come no one elsewhere in the world has ever witnessed in reality the Sun moving backwards at any time? 5) An Azimuthal Equidistant map ALWAYS is only accurate to and from it center point. In both bearings and distances. But is less accurate the further away you get from the center. This alone means nada, as that could work on any shape of the earth. But re-draw the center point on a 2nd location, and it does the same thing as before. Re-draw it on a 3rd spot and once again those same principles still works. This means using any AE map that anyone can verify proves Earth is a sphere when they check it with 3 different center points. Or in other words Gleason was an idiot for stealing and using such a projection as the AE map because it actually can be proven to show that Earth is a sphere. Smh. Besides the idiocy of keeping Lat / Long lines which alone is telling you the shape of Earth. It is no wonder sailors such as Joshua Slocum had debunked it w/in decade of it being published and it fell into obscurity shortly after.

The problem is that these people think emotionally not logically. It is an ego problem. I.e. "I am afraid of the universe and the only way I can be comfortable is to be right about everything." I'm from Australia - southern hemisphere - and I remember being so surprised when I travelled to Europe that the face of the Moon is the same - but upside down! Of course, it isn't the Moon which is upside down - it's the horizon or if you like us and the ground we stand on is upside down. Because well the earth is round.

@@DX16 yes, the effect happens at the zenith, which can be anywhere. of course, it's easiest to observe with the moon, which is a large object, with features. but it's pretty easy to observe with a constellation. pick any object near the zenith, but slightly forward. now walk forward 350 miles (*). the entire starfield shifts by about 5 degrees. the object is now near the zenith, but slightly BEHIND it. since your neck does not twist backwards, YOU TURN AROUND. it's the fact that the observer turns around that causes the inversion, not the shape of the planet. (*) as i write this, i realize that i've been SAYING this wrong ... a lot. the zenith inversion effect doesn't "tell you nothing about the shape of the observing platform", it tells you EVERYTHING about the shape of the observing platform. Since everything you look at above you that is not in the earth's atmosphere is VERY far away (an assumption, but true), the LINEAR shift of the starfield as you walk along the surface requires the surface to be a sphere, and the magnitude of the shift tells you the radius. nevertheless, the inversion effect remains an artifact of the physiology of the observer, and there is a well-known trivial method for removing it. sorry for the confusion

Just for fun I tried to make a workable flat earth model. I have something like 838 iterations at this point and none of them work. You can get ONE thing to work, but then nothing else does. I was never able to solve the moon and sun ever. As of now, I am throwing in the towel since it just does not work. Maybe I am biased since I have been to Antarctica and I saw absolutely no armed guards, no armed patrol boats or planes flying overhead to stop us. I did see some whales tho and some great icebergs.
That's the reason why there is no such thing as "flat earth model", since all of their "explanations" are always 'ad hoc', and they never comply with other "explanations". Not to mention that, most of the time, their "explanations" are contradicting to some simple observations.
Yeah, the best I can think of for the moon thing would be some sort of concave shape, but then you'd have to position it around the outer ring of whatever map you want to use, which just doesn't work. Maybe if you're really lucky you can get it to work over the equator, but then we have to ask ourselves how a concave satellite would even be possible. It's certainly a fun exercise to try, but definitely not to waste any real effort on.
I have to thank you for this video.. I was diving into conspiracy theories and (for a dumb person like me) the flat earthers make lots of simplistic claims that seem accurate. But the moon alone really destroys their entire worldview!

@@jmbbk4737 I think you can see the buildings during at night...because of the size and distance you can't even see it..it is the same as like trying to look at airplane windows...it is mostly clouds...also you can see it in most sky diving videos mostly clouds and brown.. . only when you get in to the ground you see it more clearly.. . Maybe why they turn off at the same time is to recharge the power?? Or conserve them... because cameras are solar powered and maybe power is also limited.. . There is almost nothing more enjoyable than watching Prof. Dave insult the globe-denying oxygen thief community. The simple experiment that you suggested they conduct is impossible to conduct. It requires a flat-earther to stand between two friends. How many flat-earthers have more than one friend? It is an impossible challenge.
The first non-science argument was not a good proof or argument because it was at best an exaggeration, but more accurately, simply false. Narrator: "Get two of your little buddies to stand on opposite sides of you. Can they both see the front of your face at once, no." I'm not making an argument, but a more apt example of viewing the moon from earth would be having two "buddies" standing next to each other, as close as possible, looking at a third person as far away as possible while still visible. Then when asked if they could both see the third's face, they'd both say, yes. I get the point, but in this argument the moon would have to be in the center of a "ring-earth" to view from opposite sides, or was he just dismissing "ring-earth theory" before it gains traction? lol
I used to believe in globe earth. Then i believed in flat earth for at least a day before finding your 10 challenges video, and after the FIRST DAMN THING, i now believe in the truth, globe earth is REAL. Can confirm.

dermontbud I’ve heard even stranger. I think it was something like, the reflection of the Earth on a mirrored surface. Though that Earth was actually a sphere, I think. Many times larger than the Earth. The flat Earth part of Earth we’re familiar with is actually just one of the smaller craters. And I think aliens come from worlds in other craters. Hopefully I didn’t merge garbage from another hapless conspiracy brain, they start to blend together after a while. I’m sure someone has topped that on by now.

Today I was doing some research about how they explain moon phases. They always have some stupid, unscientific explanation. But today I’ve learned, that for moon phases, they have NO explanation at all. They are just quiet about it. Their official site has an “explanation” which is 1 line, and doesn’t explain it. They didn’t even make the effort. I don’t even have to argue with them anymore, just ask them to explain moon phases and then they vanish:)

I just had a lengthy argument with a friend who has admitted that the evidence for a flat earth outweighs the evidence for a spherical earth. After many hours of debate I came to the conclusion that the real reason he believes in a flat earth is due to his world view. As in his philosophical/theological world view. I came to the realization that NO amount of evidence will convince him otherwise because he will always find a way to warp reality to fit his world view. This is not an intellectual problem that needs to be overcome using measurable evidence, this is a psychological problem that needs to be overcome with truth.

Next time there is a lunar eclipse, have him explain how it works on a flat earth. Lunar eclipses happen on a regular basis, almost everyone has seen at least one in their life (all you have to do is look up at the right time), and they make perfect sense if the earth is a spinning sphere orbiting the sun. Astronomers using the heliocentric model can predict them decades in advance, precisely saying when they will occur, where they will be visible from, and exactly how they will look for any location on earth, and they will be exactly right about all of it every single time. Meanwhile, flat earthers have no idea how to explain how they happen on a flat earth. They can’t even agree on a possible mechanism, never mind predict when they will happen. Lunar eclipses make no sense at all on a flat earth.

But I can even give you some other proofs. Things I did as young kid, so not that hard.
1) Horizon Drop - get clear u shaped tube and put some water in it (coloured water is best). Take onto highest altitude you can and measure how much lower the horizon is to level of that tubed water, which is more then down at lower ground level.
2) How come you can never see the Sun or Moon obeying laws of perspective ... they should get bigger the closer they get to you and should appear to move quicker the closer they get. And the reverse when moving away?
3) There are only 3 celestial objects in the sky that ever appear in a crescent shape. The moon is one, but there are 2 others. What are they? And how come those 2 others appear as crescents but no other planets or other celestial objects do?
4) Tracking the Sun and you can see what is called analemma (although did not know what it was called until many years later in middle school science class). So how does the Sun do that on a flat earth, and more importantly how come no one elsewhere in the world has ever witnessed in reality the Sun moving backwards at any time?
5) An Azimuthal Equidistant map ALWAYS is only accurate to and from it center point. In both bearings and distances. But is less accurate the further away you get from the center. This alone means nada, as that could work on any shape of the earth. But re-draw the center point on a 2nd location, and it does the same thing as before. Re-draw it on a 3rd spot and once again those same principles still works. This means using any AE map that anyone can verify proves Earth is a sphere when they check it with 3 different center points. Or in other words Gleason was an idiot for stealing and using such a projection as the AE map because it actually can be proven to show that Earth is a sphere. Smh. Besides the idiocy of keeping Lat / Long lines which alone is telling you the shape of Earth. It is no wonder sailors such as Joshua Slocum had debunked it w/in decade of it being published and it fell into obscurity shortly after.

I'm from Australia - southern hemisphere - and I remember being so surprised when I travelled to Europe that the face of the Moon is the same - but upside down!
Of course, it isn't the Moon which is upside down - it's the horizon or if you like us and the ground we stand on is upside down. Because well the earth is round.

pick any object near the zenith, but slightly forward. now walk forward 350 miles (*). the entire starfield shifts by about 5 degrees. the object is now near the zenith, but slightly BEHIND it. since your neck does not twist backwards, YOU TURN AROUND.
it's the fact that the observer turns around that causes the inversion, not the shape of the planet.
(*) as i write this, i realize that i've been SAYING this wrong ... a lot. the zenith inversion effect doesn't "tell you nothing about the shape of the observing platform", it tells you EVERYTHING about the shape of the observing platform.
Since everything you look at above you that is not in the earth's atmosphere is VERY far away (an assumption, but true), the LINEAR shift of the starfield as you walk along the surface requires the surface to be a sphere, and the magnitude of the shift tells you the radius.
nevertheless, the inversion effect remains an artifact of the physiology of the observer, and there is a well-known trivial method for removing it.

Just for fun I tried to make a workable flat earth model. I have something like 838 iterations at this point and none of them work. You can get ONE thing to work, but then nothing else does. I was never able to solve the moon and sun ever. As of now, I am throwing in the towel since it just does not work. Maybe I am biased since I have been to Antarctica and I saw absolutely no armed guards, no armed patrol boats or planes flying overhead to stop us. I did see some whales tho and some great icebergs.
That's the reason why there is no such thing as "flat earth model", since all of their "explanations" are always 'ad hoc', and they never comply with other "explanations". Not to mention that, most of the time, their "explanations" are contradicting to some simple observations.

Yeah, the best I can think of for the moon thing would be some sort of concave shape, but then you'd have to position it around the outer ring of whatever map you want to use, which just doesn't work. Maybe if you're really lucky you can get it to work over the equator, but then we have to ask ourselves how a concave satellite would even be possible.
It's certainly a fun exercise to try, but definitely not to waste any real effort on.

I’ve heard even stranger. I think it was something like, the reflection of the Earth on a mirrored surface. Though that Earth was actually a sphere, I think. Many times larger than the Earth. Today I was doing some research about how they explain moon phases. They always have some stupid, unscientific explanation. But today I’ve learned, that for moon phases, they have NO explanation at all. They are just quiet about it.

Ironically there is a logical fallacy card game you can play and it teaches you about all of them and how Flerfers like to misuse them.
I just had a lengthy argument with a friend who has admitted that the evidence for a flat earth outweighs the evidence for a spherical earth. After many hours of debate I came to the conclusion that the real reason he believes in a flat earth is due to his world view. As in his philosophical/theological world view. I came to the realization that NO amount of evidence will convince him otherwise because he will always find a way to warp reality to fit his world view. This is not an intellectual problem that needs to be overcome using measurable evidence, this is a psychological problem that needs to be overcome with truth.

Next time there is a lunar eclipse, have him explain how it works on a flat earth.
Lunar eclipses happen on a regular basis, almost everyone has seen at least one in their life (all you have to do is look up at the right time), and they make perfect sense if the earth is a spinning sphere orbiting the sun. Astronomers using the heliocentric model can predict them decades in advance, precisely saying when they will occur, where they will be visible from, and exactly how they will look for any location on earth, and they will be exactly right about all of it every single time.
Meanwhile, flat earthers have no idea how to explain how they happen on a flat earth. They can’t even agree on a possible mechanism, never mind predict when they will happen. Lunar eclipses make no sense at all on a flat earth.

@@Heihei246what gets me is i dont think they realize how difficult it would be to guard an area that large. we dont even have the ability to guard every inch of our borders that well. literally millions, maybe even billions, of guards would have to be stationed around the entire circumference of the earth and by that point at least one of them would have let it slip what their job is or taken pictures to prove that it exists.

Creeper37 Plays not really? this is actually a plausible argument, believe it or not. The cat one is a joke, obviously, but this one has some logic to it. Let’s say the earth is flat, and the stupid claims that individuals can’t go through one of the poles, whichever makes the centre of a flat earth (one could make a cool anti flat earth argument from that alone) because it’s fully guarded by armies, even then then - such situation exists on many borders between countries, that doesn’t prevent anyone from crossing the border and even blogging about it - and the authorities can’t censor everything. Not anymore. This joke is a sort of spark landing on the blanket of stupidity that flat earthers use to cover one experiment that would disprove the flatness even in their eyes, even with their faulty logic that’s been injected with religious indoctrination and claims they never stopped believing.
