Not sure if you get them in Canada, but the Toyota Landcruiser Troop Carrier (70 series) is extremely rugged and reliable, and big enough to sleep in. They use them on the mines in Australia, so they are built to handle things like logging roads and last forever.
I also enjoy photographing Bunchberry flowers so liked seeing your compositions. The delicate little ferns with 3 (branches) look like Oak Fern. Cheers.😊
Gorgeous photos. Such a beautiful area to explore. I actually was there back in March for the first time and loved every minute of it. Sorry to hear about you car, never fun dealing with car troubles. Hope you find a good solution!
We live on the Olympic Peninsula and love all the beaches, forests, and waterfalls. Just this weekend we went to Salt Creek Recreational area and Crescent Beach. Sorry about your van and change of plans, but hope you both enjoy your stay here in WA!
Another wonderful display of your photographic brilliance, AG! Shows like this are most helpful to my photography, in that I cannot get to the exotic places but I can find similar compositions in local park or garden.
Lovely images of bunchberry - I really enjoy seeing them. They really are at their peak right now and I've been amassing many photos of them too. Alas, the mosquitoes have been making that a little less enjoyable...
Sooooo beautiful Adam! Your vlog reminds me that its not all about the grand vistas and waterfalls, etc. These forests are teaming with exquisite, intimate photo opportunities. Thanks for that reminder.
Olympic National Forest is one of my favorite spots when I visit Washington State. I enjoyed the video and concentration of making images of the same subject. Thanks.
I’m sure you really enjoy getting people’s advice on what you should do for a vehicle. I explore the forestry roads of the PNW in a Ford Ranger truck with a canopy. For camping you wouldn’t be able to stand, but you could sit up. Anyway, lovely to see you close to my stomping grounds.
Lovely images of the bunchberry plants. My 2 cents says look into an older Suburban. Check out what the Suboverland guys are doing with them. 4WD, beefier frame, plenty of room and power. Sure, you'll give up some gas mileage, but there's always trade-offs. Will be interested to see what you do come up with.
Your videos are always excellent for your ability to explain what you are looking to photograph and your considerations when taking the photograph. Sorry about your difficulties, which are not easy to put aside when trying to photograph. Great job here.
So Tom Heaton has had problems with his van and is searching for a new one as well. Great video Adam...looking forward to what you share with us from the Redwoods.
I love those shots! The one @ 17:55 looks like the ferns are protecting the bunch berries. I'm quite the fan of natural gardens of multiple leaf textures and flowers. Good luck with the van!
I'm so happy I watched this vid as I have been in a bit of a funk lately. There is a patch of ferns in my back yard that I hve photographed in the past but not for a while so I'm going out there now. Once again inspired by your images. Good luck in your hunt for a new vehicle if you are not repairing the van.
Great video with interesting and helpful tips. Sorry about the transportation debacle. 😟 I really loved your LE shots of the waterfall as that’s what I’m very interested in at the moment. Good luck finding a new ride.
I love the way you take ordinary views and transform them. But more than that, you describe the situation as being therapeutic. For me, photographers don't have to learn to meditate in the traditional way because looking as closely as you do, spending time, and being company among the plants, is probably the best route to peace available to the human species. Well done Adam, and don't be embarrassed with your van, it's not important - to walk, hire a bicycle, or ride in a Preuss; just tell your guest it's a programme of self-improvement that you have, to teach them patience.
Love Olympic! Hope you have additional videos coming from this location. I'm impressed by your discipline to photograph the smaller intimate scenes in such a vast location. I need to learn some of that same discipline and reduce the temptation to photograph the grand landscape in locations like this. Your images turned out great!
Having worked in a camera store for over two decades I can recommend to your friend a less costly fix to his close-up problem, a 2 element close up lens Number 5T from Nikon (screws on like a filter). It's 62 mm so he might have to use a stepping ring. He'll have to look at places that sell used gear, like eBay (where I sold my 62mm one). Canon made one but I never tested it so don't know how good it might be.
Bunchberry is always a favorite. The ferns look like Oak Fern ( Gymnocarplum dryopteris). They are wonderfully small and delicate. At least you ended up in a beautiful location.
No mention of a bigfoot with that thumbnail? LOL! I was at least hoping for a bear scare or something that made it tie in with the title and thumbnail. But, I did watch it all the way till the end just to be sure. I'm running a workshop to Olympic NP in 2 weeks - hope those flowers are still in bloom! Thanks for the inspiration as always.
Sorry again for your awful luck. Its the absolute pits! It’s hard getting into the groove when trips start out so awful. (It was 2 days before my camera came out after my debacle 🥺). Hope the rest of your trip goes well! Flower photos were beautiful as always. 🌼😊 good luck!
Sorry to hear about the van breaking . Glad you were covered . Getting the greens correct without making it looking artificial is what stands out for me . BTW, can you educate us on how do you keep yourself safe from animals while shooting these episodes in the midst of such thick forests ?
Hi Adam, this is Simon - I was on Dean Allan’s workshop with you in Lewis & Harris last November. Great video, you always seem to find compositions out of nothing!!
Bad luck on the van --- i have a 22 year old car and know one day it will reach the end of the raod, just keep hoping its not now. The lone white flower with the ferns around is very good .
After 80,000 miles of highways and national forest service roads, my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan is still getting me in all the best locations. It's not AWD, but still gets me everywhere with proper prior planning.
I always thought a Ford Transit would make a good camper van. I’m not sure whether the road clearance would be adequate for your purposes, but they’re not expensive and come in a variety of sizes and configurations. Mercedes makes a similar van, but the cost of parts and service would be a deal breaker for me. Good luck.
Adam living in southeast we have basically the same flora as Vancouver/ Olympics. I notice you have a polarizer on all your shots? I guess I need to start. Is that for glare on leaves?
So sorry to hear about the mechanical issues, here is hoping you end up with a great solution soon.... quick question... I know you did a vlog on your tripod head a year or so a go... please refresh my memory on the model again??? mental health improved by "Flow" 🙂... and a cup of coffee 😅
thanks... I guess it was an earlier version that you experimented with@@QuietLightPhoto this one looks very accurate 🙂 and just checked the price... maybe not for me 🙂
Too bad about the van troubles. The Olympic National Park is beautiful. We have over 3000 waterfalls in Washington State. The popular ones aren’t always the nicest but they have a combination of being nice and getting to them is easy enough that most people can do it. If you get to The Hall of Mosses, I would like to see what you get for images there.
I always appreciate how you show both the RAW file and the edited result.
Not sure if you get them in Canada, but the Toyota Landcruiser Troop Carrier (70 series) is extremely rugged and reliable, and big enough to sleep in. They use them on the mines in Australia, so they are built to handle things like logging roads and last forever.
i like the way Fugi brings out the green. even back in the film days the film did a great job on the greens.
Thank you Adam.❤️🇫🇷❤️
Oh man!! What an ordeal. Ah well, things will work out. Love you man, can’t wait for your next vid and our next adventure ❤❤❤
You bet Alister!😘
5:14 Tilt-Shift lenses on Canon EOS EF mount for the win.

Love these compositions. One of my favorite woodland flowers.
Many thanks!

So Tom Heaton has had problems with his van and is searching for a new one as well. Great video Adam...looking forward to what you share with us from the Redwoods.
Glad to see you two playing together again. Beautiful shots and always enjoy.
Be sure to visit Hoh Rain Forest, get there early (parking), and Ruby Beach, just down the road.
Great video and nice to see you with Paul. I love how most of the flowers had a drop of rain on tips of the leaf 😊
Thanks 👍
I love those shots! The one @ 17:55 looks like the ferns are protecting the bunch berries. I'm quite the fan of natural gardens of multiple leaf textures and flowers. Good luck with the van!

Awesome photos Adam, I always love your explanation of what you are doing! Amazing place to photograph! ❤
Stefan Forster built a nice camper van on a Hilux. Not sure if it fits your needs, but Hilux is a hardcore off-roader.
I love Sol Duc. I got a great photo there back in 2019.

Those crazy "squiddel's" are taking over. Good thing Brian is a "squiddel" whisperer. They seem to be following you. Nice video. 🙂
You got that right!
You are a master of your skill, sir! 👍
Thank you kindly
Beautiful photos as always.🦋
Thank you so much 😊
Love the video Adam. Great as usual.
Thanks 👍
Love the collection of photographs you took on this trip, stunning!
Thanks so much!
Great video with interesting and helpful tips. Sorry about the transportation debacle. 😟 I really loved your LE shots of the waterfall as that’s what I’m very interested in at the moment. Good luck finding a new ride.

Sure is!

Or tell them you are a Zen monk and they must get with the programme
I don't think Adam is embarrassed about his van, he just needs reliable transport.
You should buy Thomas Heaton's van. He was looking at a newer one a few weeks ago.
Love Olympic! Hope you have additional videos coming from this location. I'm impressed by your discipline to photograph the smaller intimate scenes in such a vast location. I need to learn some of that same discipline and reduce the temptation to photograph the grand landscape in locations like this. Your images turned out great!

Oh man what a drag having that happen around Seattle! Love the intimate images. Are you going to have another vlog from the Park? I hope so.
That's the plan!

That is by far the best thumbnail you have ever had.
Looks like Gavin Hardcastle has photobombed you! 😂

To be honest there are more dangers walking down the street than in a forest. Most animals are not predators except for perhaps cougars.
Beautiful shots as always . I think you’d definitely benefit from the 120mm macro. I’ve been contemplating getting myself .
Absolutely
Beautiful Park. even used cars are crazy priced now.
Yes they are

Nice bunchberry shot. Beautiful. Why iso 50 if you don’t mind?
No reason

If talking about the US, since when does the southeast have the same flora as PNW?
@@The_Cyberz southeast Alaska
@@sekaf4125 Ah, that’s definitely a different “southeast”. Lol
@@The_Cyberz after living here so long we always refer it to “southeast”
I need to remember UA-cam has a vast audience

Grumpton! You were in Olympic NP 3 years ago with F4. Seems you've blocked this from your memory possibly due to trauma?
Ah but technically we didn’t go in😉🤔
@@QuietLightPhoto ahem, technically we didn't 'record' there ;)
45-100mm+crop or 100-200+extensiontube?
Either or doesn’t matter too much
So where is the gorilla, is he still in Nova Scotia? 🙂
Great Video but the selfie in the fur coat could be sharper ... 🦘
Good call!
the leaves overlapping the flowers don't really work for me
Is that Gavin in the thumbnail?
No, Gavin is not quite as attractive 😂
Bags do get heavy! Too much so sometimes.
Great pics. Everything is personal Taste, but me i dont like these massive white borders. I‘d prefer smaller ones. Greetings from Germany.
If you get a new van, please get one with left hand drive.
beautiful images, bummer about that van. time to flush it and find something better. Best of luck in your interactions with car dealers.
Pacific Northwest is the best.
I agree. But concerning your thumbnail, that is definitely a man in a guerrilla suit, that much is obvious.
Nope.. that has been proven wrong.
@@evertking1 It can’t have been proven wrong. Unless Big Boots has actually been captured, which as far as I’m aware, it hasn’t.
