These videos always make me want to go out and photograph. Thanks Nick!
Very nice. Wish we had waterfalls like this where I live
The mood in your videos is stunning!
Thank you for your great photography plus your ability to take me with you
It has been awhile for anything new i rewatch many of your videos
Hope you and your family are well
This is like photography in a wondrous fairy tale.
Wonderful vlog as always Nick. I enjoyed the hike and the images very much.
Thanks, man! I'm taking my RP on my trip to Kalaloch and Hoh next week and your tips about forest composition will come in really handy all over the PNW.
Well done Nick! Thanks for sharing.
Another Great vlog. Thanks for info about your compositions and how to frame and simplify a complex view. Seems a very peaceful place.
What a great sunset! you Lucked out. I am head to Vancouver Island next weekend so hopefully I'll have the same luck!
Such a great video. Thanks for posting. Taking my kids here this coming week.
Editing plays such a role in those forest photos (which are great, also well composed). If I took photos there, they would not have the impact these do due to my lacklustre editing skills - must learn!
That just might be my favorite Nick Page video! Love the forest scenes and photos. Two moss covered thumbs up.
Olympic NP has a special place in my heart. Thanks for sharing your knowledge & beautiful photos.
very beautiful location .. lovely sunset
Nick thank you so much I really enjoy your videos, I even learn a little bit of something off each one
Great video yet again Nick. Its a pleasure to share your magic moments.
Fellow Washington photographer here and Ihave to say these are some excellent images.
Looks like an incredible place !
Those trees, that whole area amazing, something for everyone.
Great video, Nick and wonderful images
Great video Nick! I HAVE to get up to the PNW sometime.
What a beautiful, primordial forest!
Just finding this video...and it is a carbon copy of my one day in ONP and Ruby Beach...I drove over from Seattle for the day...you had better light on all counts than I did though. Enjoyed it.
I have done this exact trip a few times before and it never gets old. Start in Quinault, then up to the Hoh rainforest, then sunset at Ruby beach, it's different almost every time and I can't get enough! Thank you for these lovely shots, they capture the feeling so much better than my mobile! ^__^ 100% my favourite place on earth.
Awesome photos Nick! Great video!
Nice tranquil music selection... Like it !
Great vlog. Mosses make great photos and I try to include them in some of my bird photos
love those mossy trees great vlog Nick
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Moss covered stuff is really amazing! Thanks for the video
My two favorite shots shot a of Nick are the one of the wave and birds and the one from this Forrest you posted. Nick and Mr Heaton. My two favorite photographers.
I like them all, but the "wave and birds" is absolutely my favorite.....I am a beach junkie.
Man, that place looks amazing! Really solid advice on composition and shooting in the forest, thank you. Agreed, when that sky is bright it gets crazy contrasty up high even while you're in good shape down low. So looking forward to our wet Northeast Spring now!
Great video Nick and some cracking images!
Looks amazing! I can't wait to visit in may!
Olympic National Park might be one of the more beautiful forests I've seen. You came away with some exeptional photos friend. I have a soft spot for moss cloth trees as well, and that beach.. What a day mate. Beautiful work!
What an amazing forest! Love your picture from there Nick!
Love everything you do for us and yourself, Nick.
I was out there last weekend and had the same issue with the sun. Hiked up the Hoh trail in nothing but sun. No photos to be had with all the shadows and bright spots. Still able to get some awesome shots around Lake Crescent and the Quinault. No clouds at the beach though so I didn't stay.
Awesome photos Nick! Love the sunset @ 11:03 - the color and shapes of the sand create a beautiful foreground to lead the eye into the frame. What a wonderful place to explore! Great vlog and images.
WOW Beautiful places, stunning shots Nick.. :)
I shot those locations last year in May and it was pouring rain for 5 days straight. Great video Nick...Thanks for sharing.
Excellent. Haven't been to Olympic NP in many years. Good to see you back on the coast.
What a beautiful place! I love the photos you took.
Gorgeous shots Nick. I have been to Olympia NP twice and I completely agree that it is one of the best national parks in the world.
Always inspiring 👌👍
Merci beaucoup 😁
Hi Nick, if you like moss covered trees, found in temperate rainforest, you'd really love a place like Tasmania. Look up places like Mount Field National park, or the Tarkine. Mount Field would be great for you as access is really easy. You don't have to hike very much to see the big trees. In mainland Australia, you also have places like that. The main one is called the Otways, about 2 hours West of Melbourne. This region is mainly known for the Great Ocean Road and the oceanscapes, but the Otway forest is nonetheless magnificent with great waterfalls, and lush forests. It is the rainiest place in Victoria.
Beautiful area!
Great video! Beautiful location, definitely on my bucket list of locations.
Great vid Nick. Mossy Forrest shots are great and who doesn’t like an Oregon coast sunset with the beautiful light you were given. Well done!
Great video! I love taking these photography journeys. Great commentary and images as well
Now that was a productive day, great stuff, Nick!
Incredible, magical shots!
Wonderfully instructive video. Two key takeaways for me are to "get rid of the mess" and to remember to pack my polarizer next time I head to the woods to shoot.
I headed here in the next week, can't wait.
I can't tell you the number of times I've walked into a PNW forest and am soon thinking "Where's the shot? All I see is mossy chaos." Your tip about using a longer focal length to isolate one area will be useful. Thanks!
Great shots, Nick! Your videos always make me want to visit the Pacific Northwest.
Wonderful, Nick! I’ve been to both areas several times. You picked an awesome time to go to the rainforest. The summer and fall months are pretty dry so not too much very green moss. Great lesson in composition especially in the messy forest, now I can’t wait to go back again.
Great video brought back memories it's been years but always one of my favorite places to take pics. Thanks always enjoy your videos
Nick, your an amazing photographer! Thanks for taking us alone with you. Keep up all your hard work and dedication!!
What a day you had and to be able to go from that woodland to that beach, wow! loved the video! Photos came out fantastic!
Wow, those photos looked awesome! Keep up the great work and awesome content! Love the videos and photos!!
Awesome video Nick... love the photos... one day will be there
Wow great video!!!!!! Beautiful
Nick Page my friend you are an artist and I love your images. I'll be photographing this very region in late September. If Olympic National Park is not Nirvana for landscape photographers I'm not sure what is. This is an educational and beautiful video with breathless images.
First part of the evening spent enjoying first 6 chapters of your Essential Photography Course... Then finishing the evening with a new video... keep up great work Nick inspirational content.
Gotta love epic sunsets
Beautiful images, Nick. Loved the sunset ones.
Like your calm voice, music fitting the dark, green mood of this place if you know what I mean.
Reminds me of parts of the West Coast of the mainland (South Island) New Zealand. I have huge difficulties of getting compositions in forests, whether it is sub-alpine, coastal or rain forest. You work gives me ideas of what is possible. Thank you so much
Really nice shots and video. I appreciate that you share tips and information about settings and composition etc. so thanks..
Less of the mess, I like that Nick. I will always remember that, thanks for this awesome video of one of my favorite places.
Great video Nick. I've been to Olympic many times and you describe well the challenges you can face in that forest. Less is usually more!
Planning my first visit there in a few weeks. This has been super helpful. Thanks, Nick. Forest shots are some of my favorites. Yours are the bees knees.
Got the new color huh. I got the blue nights 60 and 40. Def like the blue better than the sea foam color. Loving the bags and the roller bag. Shimoda nailed these bags.
Great video and pics Nick. I've been thinking about Olympic or North Cascades for my next park trip. Have a preference?
Holy crap you have some spectacular images there, would love to visit the U.S. to try and visit some of these places amazing!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Great video, what was the reason you took a long shutter speed shot in the forest?
Thank you for your video!!!!
It's beyond awesome!
Wow this couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I am going to Olympic in a couple of weeks and Quinault is a place I have picked out. Google must be really tracking me because this video was perfect. Love the shot with all the ferns. Forest shots are my favourite.
Man, those moss covered trees were awesome and the sunset was amazing.
Excellent video! I like your commentary on composition to get rid of the "mess".!
Nick: If you ever want to visit a very different type of environment, I suggest you make a trip to Southeast Texas, to the Big Thicket Biological Preserve. It's a series of swamp type federally protected ecosystems that, thanks to the work of one concerned naturalist is still here today. I stopped here on my way back from New Orleans in 1968, and sent several days.
Great job Nick. Trees aren’t my thing but I have to confess, they looked pretty photogenic. Well done 👍🏻
Amazing location! Thanks Nick!!!!
This was the most lovely, peaceful video, in two of my favorite places here in the PNW. Thank you for sharing this, from a new subscriber. ;)
Nice sunset location 👍
Awesome video, probably my favorite of yours so far. Keep it up!!
Hey Nick, just found your channel, great stuff, great step by step explanations as well. I was wondering what make/model of backpack you were using?
In this video I had my Shimoda 60L bag. I have both the 40L and 60L bags from shimoda, and this was the maiden voyage of the 60L. I think the 40L is probably the better bag for most photographers out there though.
I appreciate the hell outta you. This is incredible
Love the mood!
Thank you for your video. I love living so close to the Olympic National Park. I moved to Whidbey Island in 2019 so I haven’t been able to go back since moving here from the Hood Canal Bridge area. I will be going to Olympic, Mt Rainier, Mount Saint Helens, and North Cascades within the next five months so your video has helped me to try and improve my amateur photography. I was wondering if you could share the link to your backpack and tripod used in this video? The link shared for the tripod isn’t valid when I click on it. Thanks in advance.
Great work Nick!
Dude, at 9s of the video, the angle view is awesome for a composition, tell me you have snapped a photo here too. Very awesome video brother
Straight up inspiring!!!
I’ll be there in June!!!
Great video, I have to get back out there
Thanks for sharing Nick. You had a uniquely beautiful sky at Ruby Beach. The Hall if mosses never disappoints. One of my favorite locations in the entire park. We had a similar itinerary back in September. I think off all National Park in Washingston St Olympic is my favorite because of its diversity. North Cascades definitely makes you hike and work for any image. Cheers.
Per usual Gorgeous shots Nick. Photographers paradise with all those mossy trees. I gotsa get there someday.
What a great location! We're thinking of heading to Seattle to visit relatives at some point and hoping to spend some more time in the area for photography. Olympic was an area I was looking into so really great to see you photographing it Nick, thanks! Sam.
