- The Retevis MB 2 Is just hitting the market as of May 2024. #cb #cbradio This rig gives us 12 banks of 40 channels in both AM and FM. In ON AIR testing this radio has a good quiet receiver and has good transmit audio.
Bonus... Realistic microphones work on this radio as well. There is more to come so stay tuned.
Now we need a SSB Version :)

I went out and looked it up and it looks interesting. But..... I HAVE TO ASK..... is it FCC Type Accepted??? I didn't see any mention on the ad I found.....
The Decal on the radio gives a FCC ID Number. So that is 100% Maybe :)

They offer this as a package deal with a mag mount antenna for $110 on Amazon and I am incredibly interested. I know you haven’t hd this long but how’s it holding up so far?

The reason why some bands are FM only, like the German band below our channel 1, is because some countries in Europe are FM only, no AM on some bands there hence the no switch to AM on some bands using the original band control in the manual.
Correct, however there are two mods I found, one giving the channels with directed / fixed modes and the other that lets you change modes and power settings. There are BTW 3 pwr settings depending what ch mod you select. WHEW!

Would you ever consider fixing up my cobra 148 gtl old school one for video content? I just can't afford to send it off too someone to work on it
I only do my own repairs, I;m not a technician just a hobbyist, I would hate to ruin someone else's radio.

Do you have any idea if and how to activate the -5 kHz shift (e.g. Poland) in export mode?
Not yet. I understand some euro rigs can do zeros, havent found that on this rig. Thanks for watching.

Yes it has the "A" channel's.

Is there a mod for extra power out?
The radio has a High/Low Power control. It does 4w AM and FM on low and up to 17W on FM in the High power setting.
Can this mod be undone?
I believe so..
