Please let me say THANK YOU! 28 years ago my son was born with multiple birth defects. You have no idea the comfort a blanket like that blanket brought to me during difficult time. I couldn't always hold him but I could cuddle the blanket, use it while pumping my milk, use it to comfort him with my scent on it etc. Your not just making a blanket your giving comfort and love to parents who have unsure future. I still have the blanket and gave it to his son my grandson.
i love this, when i was younger i got extremely ill and i received a Linus Blanket that was handmade and i still have it to this day. It was amazing knowing that someone cared
Thank you for the new technique. I really appreciate this video because I want the ends to lay down this time. I'm making a no-sew blanket for my deployed soldier. Blessings.
Awesome video! I knew there had to be another way to knot it besides just tying it. Love the little written comments as I watched! Thank you for the quick corner instructions! Beautiful job! Thank you again!
You’re a great teacher! I’ve been looking for an activity with a purpose that my friend with moderate dementia, and arthritis can do together. Plus, I can work on this during dialysis.
Hello from Panama...greetings...I really liked the first and second...I'm going to make it for my three granddaughters...thank you...God bless you...greetings.
This video is so well done! Thank you! I'm just beginning to try my hand at making no-sew fleece blankets and this is going to make me look like a seasoned pro!
I just want to say THANK YOU!! Your video out of a MILLION other videos I have watched trying to see how to do this blanket, is absolutely the easiest and most useful one I have found! It’s stunningly beautiful to!! ❤ God bless you!!!!
Love your different methods! Wished I'd seen this before I cut the strips, next time I'm doing the scallops! Thanks for showing an old lady something new. God bless you and your family and stay safe and healthy. Merry 🎄 👑🙏💞✝️🐾🕯🕯🕯🕯♾
YOU HAVE OPENED UP A WHOLE WORLD FOR ME. I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR DUE TO A STROKE AT 33. I HAVE SHAKINESS (ATAXIA) AND CANNOT DO MOST CRAFTS. YOUR TUTORIAL IS GREAT! YOU MAKE IT SOOOO EASY TO MAKE GIFTS OR DONATIONS. TY!! BUT I HAVE A QUESTION ON THE AMT. OF MATERIAL FOR A LARGER PERSON AND A TALL COLLEGE STUDENT. I BELIEVE I BUY 1 YARD OF EACH, FOR A CRIB SIZE, 2 YDS OF EA. FOR A CHILD SIZE, 3- ADULT SIZE AND IS IT 4 YDS OF EACH FOR A LARGER SIZE. IS THIS RIGHT? TY FOR HELPING ME FEEL PRODUCTIVE!
A twin bed is 75 inches long. An X-long bed is 80 inches long. Find out which the College Student is in. Then add about 6 to 8 inches to replace the edges that are being cut to tie/knot Etc... That is how I do it. Oh though if you want to account for his tallness you will probably have to add more. Since you will want to go over his/her feet I forgot to and ours was to short .
1 yard is plenty for crib size. 1.5 for a child under 4ft tall. If your making a throw for a tall man 2.5 yards is the length of a twin/full size bed. It would make a great throw that would cover his feet.
I would recommend 3 yards , I am a basketball player and I make lots of blankets 3 yards is as big ass a full size bed with almost a yard left at the bottom if you are rapped in your blanket. 4 yards may be a bit much but at the end of the day if they are over 6 feet that might be best and safest so that it is not too small.😊☺️
I know this comment is old, but anyone reading this now, making a 3 yard tie blanket is a nightmare and it’s just not worth it! Lol for an adult I would recommend two yards. I ended up giving away my 3 yard tie blanket to a friend cause I got so frustrated at folding it and carrying it. And it takes ages to tie all the little knots.
I'm making a fleece tie blanket for the first time to send to my sister for Christmas. This was the most helpful and calm video I found. Your instructions were clear and your work is beautiful. Thank you for this awesome tutorial - I have more confidence in my ability to actually make this blanket properly now. :)
Yes , you are on point Puffin , It wasn't too busy of chatter and visuals … :) Loved the calm and peaceful tone and doesn't go too fast , and not to mention a variety of ways to try in one EASY video … LOve it … Thanks " A Girl and a glue gun "
l just watched your videos and I'm going to try them out at my Kids Club meeting. The children like crafts and we are making these blankets for needy families, whom I know will appreciate and enjoy them. Thank you so much for your easy instructions !!!!
Thank you for your video!!! I was having a hard time with the corners of the fleece blankets I’ve been tying for years! They always look so funky until I learned from your video how to correctly make the corners! The pull-thru method is a great way to change things up!!
I love the tieing method that swaps the coordinating colors to the opposite side by threading them through the small snipped holes three times. I'm definitely using this for the Yule project I'm making for a gift :) thank you!
Perfect tips for changing up the new sew throw projects. They are great activities for the “Silver Sewing” clubs at retirement homes and Assisted Living Centers. I plan to put the tips to good use! thanks!
I tried combining 2 of your methods and loved the result. I did the pull through 3 times and then tied. It keeps the ties flatter but gives a nice braided edge look. I also used embroidery thread to tie throughout the middle of the blanket as you would a tie quilt. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you I made the ones that tied for years but really didn’t like the messy knots . I stopped doing them . But now I’m going to start again love the scalloped edges. Thanks again
I have been making these type of blankets for new babies of friends and family members for years and everyone has LOVED them. My sister just asked me to make one for my elderly mother and I am going to try the new finish with the slits and slipping the fabric through. Thanks for the idea!
I used the loop-through method you taught for a blanket to give my mother, who is fighting pancreatic cancer. Thank you so much for teaching me how to do this. The finished product looks beautiful, and I can't wait to give it to her!
New subbie here, I just found your channel and really like that you show there are so many ways to finish these easy no sew blankets, I'm a senior and sometimes need just a little extra something to grab to be warmer, You've made it so easy to follow making these blankets, Thank you so much !
Omg love these ideas I'm making my very first no sew blanket and I'm kinda nervous about it but since I watch this I feel more comfortable thank you and especially for taking the time to show us slowly oh I just became a new subscriber after watching this 😊
For the yarn tasseled one, another option is the latch hook tool. A little less cumbersome than pulling the yarn through with your fingers. When I was a teenager, I used to make small pillows with novelty washcloths using the yarn tassels to hold the sides together. The latch hook tool would also serve to puncture the hole in the material. Just a thought... Great video!
Thank you for this video. All of the designs you provided are great! However, I love the looped fleece blanket. It fits perfectly with the fabrics my friend purchased for her son.
I have my mother's birthday coming up and she loves homemade gifts. I think this will be perfect. I think I'm going to use the second method. Also, I plan to sew some letters into the blanket
Mother loves green and would go for your 2nd blanket, may I ask where'd you get it from please so I can make her one for Christmas. Great tutorial and thank you for sharing!
I must be the same as you when it comes to color blind, i love her too... but I only use fiskars for anything that might damage my knife edge gingher scissors, i saw struggle with snipping and gingher's are 1 snip action.
I’m obsessed with these blankets. I got my first one from my cousins and then one while in the children’s hospital. I got two from friends and now I’m making myself a giant one
Thank you! I like the way you run the fringe pieces through each other. Do they stay together through wash and drying, and having kids use them? I've only ever done it the first way or by crocheting around the blanket.
Hello and thanks for sharing this! I am going to try the band yarn on my blanket, can you tell me how you got the ends of the fringe to not unravel? Also, I am using two colors of yarn and wanted to twist them together. can i do that or will it just unravel? It doesn't lool like yours are knotted at the ends of each strand, but are they? Thanks SO much for any ideas. Take good care of you and yours.
Nice to see a different technique, I am completing a blanket that I found at my mother's. But the ties weren't holding. I like this much better, looks secure.

My mama used to make those when she was alive.
❤
Beautiful blankets, I like how you showed the instructions several times so I don't have to re-watch the video. Thank you!
Excellent! I am making throw blankets for my grandkids and here I found different fun alternatives! Thank you!
Thank you for the new technique. I really appreciate this video because I want the ends to lay down this time. I'm making a no-sew blanket for my deployed soldier. Blessings.
I love the trippy design 😵💫
Thanks for showing a variety of ways to do an old stand-by. Loved it!!
Awesome video! I knew there had to be another way to knot it besides just tying it. Love the little written comments as I watched! Thank you for the quick corner instructions! Beautiful job! Thank you again!
Almost done with my blanket...just had to watch again to tackle those corners! I love it! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
You’re a great teacher! I’ve been looking for an activity with a purpose that my friend with moderate dementia, and arthritis can do together. Plus, I can work on this during dialysis.
Your methods are great, thank you! I really like the fabric colors you chose. Best of all bless you for donating your time to help those in need!!!

Cynthia Bethuy hi. Every video I’ve seen recommends two yards for adult size blankets. I don’t know if that helps. I have yet to try making a blanet
A twin bed is 75 inches long. An X-long bed is 80 inches long. Find out which the College Student is in. Then add about 6 to 8 inches to replace the edges that are being cut to tie/knot Etc... Thank you ❤ Making my first blanket and love these tutorials!
You saved my sanity by showing me how to deal with the corners !!!!
I usually cut a 4"' or 5" square piece of paper and use it to cut all four corners before starting. Either way works though.
Thank You for showing how to make the fleece blanket, I learned something new. Going to make these for my grandkids!!!
Omg love these ideas I'm making my very first no sew blanket and I'm kinda nervous about it but since I watch this I feel more comfortable thank you and especially for taking the time to show us slowly oh I just became a new subscriber after watching this 😊
Curious how these wash

Watching hers, it leaves an unfinished edge…
Thank you for this video. All of the designs you provided are great! However, I love the looped fleece blanket. It fits perfectly with the fabrics my friend purchased for her son.

Nice tutorial, wondering exactly what kind of scissors u used for the last blanket with the scalloped edges, pinking shears?
I have my mother's birthday coming up and she loves homemade gifts. I think this will be perfect. I think I'm going to use the second method. Also, I plan to sew some letters into the blanket

@ Mary How do you make the Scalloped Edges ? Is that a certain Scissor ?
Wow, thank you for different ideas.....
Thanks so much! Everyone loves a cute personalized warm blanket. Disney Princesses for my nieces. Christmas gifts!
i have been trying to find a video that is easy , fun , and creative. I found it Thank you.
Thank you for this! I am using your second option for a Christmas gift 🥰 I like it mich better than the knots.
Mother loves green and would go for your 2nd blanket, may I ask where'd you get it from please so I can make her one for Christmas. Great tutorial and thank you for sharing!
Thanks-those were some great ideas I haven’t seen before!
I'm not color blind. ;) You are so hilarious. I just love your blog!
I must be the same as you when it comes to color blind, i love her too... but I only use fiskars for anything that might damage my knife edge gingher scissors, i saw struggle with snipping and gingher's are 1 snip action.
i love the pull thru method it is alot easier on arthritic hands . thank you so much.
I love the blanket that you did not tie but cut a slit and pulled it thru. I was wondering how it holds up when washing it.
I do the slot and pull it thru then do just one knot....I've had it come apart before if I didn't
@@TheLillybugsmom I would love to see what that looks like..
2:57 there is no letter ‘t’ in the word ‘across’. Not pronounced ‘acrost’
I’m obsessed with these blankets. I got my first one from my cousins and then one while in the children’s hospital. I got two from friends and now I’m making myself a giant one
Thanks for the demonstration it's helped no end!!!
Love the first one!!
Thank you! I like the way you run the fringe pieces through each other. Do they stay together through wash and drying, and having kids use them? I've only ever done it the first way or by crocheting around the blanket.
They stay together pretty good unless the kids are trying to undo it!
Thank you for sharing, love this! 🙏🏻💜
Thank you this is great love all methods nice video with so much info
That tassel one is awesome
I love this video, perfect amount of comic relief 🤩
I think i love the slit pull thru method best, it looked much nicer and neater.
You are so creative. Thank you for sharing
Thanks very informative. You have great teaching technique.
Thank you for this video!!! My boyfriends bday is coming up soon and I wanted to make him a blanket but a tie not wasn't different enough for me 😄
awesome varieties. I'm gonna try the slit one first
Hello and thanks for sharing this!
2DebbieDoo Unfortunately the yarn will unravel.
A dab of soft-drying fabric fray prevention liquid
at the knot center top worked for the gift blanket I made.
Thank you for sharing theses fun ideas!!
Thank you! I am going to make my first blanket for my grandson :)
I'm looking for directions on the braided blanket. Have you got video for that one?
Love this!!🥰
I'll try this! Thank you!
Thank you for your tips
Nice to see a different technique, I am completing a blanket that I found at my mother's. But the ties weren't holding. I like this much better, looks secure.
Thank you so much my mom is working on a blanket and she will really enjoy this
Will the ties stay together on method 2 when you wash the blanket?
This was really great!! I’m going to try the tassle one for Veterans Hospital. Question. How does the yarn wash?
Thanks so much .i love ur video .thanks for explaining each one .😃❤️
