Really enjoying the videos of your awesome adventure. I agree 💯 with you about the last third of the Camino being sentimental instead of spiritual. I know the first time I reached Santiago I didn’t have the big emotional epiphany everyone told me I’d experience. It was more of a sense of achievement and great sentimentality. Wasn’t ready for it to be over (are we ever?) and I didn’t want to return to my old world. Little did I know that my Camino wasn’t over but just beginning. I am 70 and have since walked many different Caminos and am grateful for each and every one. Your words resonated with me “you never know when it’s your last Camino.” Verdad. Buen Camino 😎❤️🥾
Thanks for the kind words. I'm curious about which Caminos you have done and what you thought of each. Molly and I have done part of the Norte, the Primitivo, and the Frances. This summer, we're going to tackle the Ingles (from London) and a couple of longish hikes in the UK. We're always trying to learn and also to plan future adventures, so would love to hear your thoughts. Buen Camino!
@@staceyandmollypilgrims Thanks for your reply. I live in New Orleans but we (my son, dil and grandson) have an apartment in San Sebastián. They are college professors and we overlap spendIng our Summers here. I am retired so I also come in January/February most years. We walked the Francés in 2013 as a family with the 13 month old grandson in a backpack. I was addicted and since then have walked many sections of the CF again and the Norte from Biarritz, France to 1 stage beyond Bilbao. I’m partial to Basque Country and walk/re-walk many stages of it while here. I’ve walked a portion of Camino Vasco, de Interior (tunnel route) from Irun to Zegama. I started from Le Puy last July during the heat wave and got Covid so had to stop. After recovering (mostly) I walked portions of the Via Francigena from Lausanne, Switzerland to Pont St Martin and then Lucca to Siena, Italy. Absolutely a stunningly beautiful walk. This Summer I am planning to restart the Via Podiensis from Le Puy to at least Pamplona but who knows? In 2019 I walked from Sopron, Hungary to Trieste,Italy on the European Peace Walk/Hungarian Walk of Friendship. Two of us continued on the Via Postumia for several more days. It hooks up with the Chemin d’Arles, and eventually the Francés. This Summer I’m hoping to do the San Salvador from Leon to Oviedo and continue on the Primitivo to Santiago, Muxia and Fisterra. I’m limited to 90 days out of 180 so we’ll see. The Inglés (along with many others😂) is on my list also. Your trip from London sounds wonderful. Will be eager to see your journey videos. There are so many walks and so little time! Portuguese and Sanabrese are also calling. At my age I need to climb the mountain routes while I can.😉 It’s a wonderful bonding experience. Last July the family and I walked from SJPP to Urtega. We missed that section in 2013 due to blizzard and it was wonderful sharing it with my 10 yo grandson. The Le Puy route is very beautiful and I also highly recommend the Lausanne to Aosta section of the Francigena. The section in Tuscany is also really nice, but I loved walking through the Alps and over the Great St. Bernard Pass. I enjoy watching and reminiscing about my Camino experience in 2009. It was much different; not nearly as many albergues or bars; not nearly as much rain even though I walked in March/April. It was a very moving experience for me, I had a lot of personal, physical, and emotional pain to work through. I so enjoy watching you and your daughter plod along in your voyage. I can tell that you're getting tired. Ultrea
We were getting tired, but we were also getting more emotional. The Camino was probably the best experience of my life. I can’t wait to do it again.

Thank you for your videos so far. I am loving them. I'm planning my September camino at the moment and now I'm thinking it would be fun to take both routes from Triacastela. Walk one route, return by taxi to Triacastela, then walk the alternate route (if the weather is kind and the body is willing). I have allowed myself 6-7 weeks so I have the luxury of time to do both. Looking forward to your onward journey. I walked Sarria to Santiago in May 2018 and this time I will continue on to Muxia. Buen Camino.
Great idea! In fact, we tried to figure out if we could sandwich in the walk from Triacastela through Samos before going home, but we couldn't work it out. If we would have had one more day, that's what we would have done with it.

I hope she found a fleece soon ... stairways were slight angle for water runnoff I am guessing so none pools up on the stairs.. nice vid again! Love the hills and forests. My close friend is there today I believe and what an adventure.
Pablo and Claudia found us some jackets and brought them to us in Portomarin. They were very appreciated.
0:24 I loved this stretch, but took it in two days.
27.IX.2004 was the departure from Triacastela, 28.IX.2004 was the arrival in Sarria.
The night between, I slept in my sleeping bag before the porch of a Church.
I forget whether the shepherds going through Sarria were after my arrival or before my departure on St. Michael's Day.
Do you know what town you stopped in? I'm just curious to gather info in case the days sort out differently on another Camino.
@@staceyandmollypilgrims It just seemed to be a Church, and then I found a café the morning, or was offered to go there, I think it was Casa del Franco or whatever.
Thanks for another great video! Watching, and thinking I won't need my rain pants in September...but watching the last few videos and you had them on all the time. so now they will come with me. It's like you said, we can't predict the weather. I will bring a fleece... Hope Molly finds one before Finestere ... Looking forward for next weeks video! Buen Camino!!
I am a big fan of the rain pants. They were the only long pants that I took, so I wore them many days for warmth, and they were really comfortable.

4:26 Yes, this is the path which I first walked up, then ran down again when I saw a woodfire further in, then walked back up ... watching as the choppers came and extinguished it with chalk ...

Fortunately, there weren't any fires when we walked by.
What a great day, meeting the artist was a real treat, so personal.
I love walking in the rain, (as long as I’m warm enough of course ) I find it is exhilarating.
It will be fun to “ meet “ the rest of the family, are they walking on with you.?

Thank you, Stacey. 🙏You and Molly work so well together, it's been pleasure to follow your journey. I've walked the Frances twice and loved it both times. The last section from Astorga being my favourite, and Galicia an absolute highlight - the mountains, green ferny trails and canopy, seeing free-range cattle again, the slate roofs tented together at the top like dragon scales and often sporting quartz crystal, village after village... it's a breathtaking visual feast. I'll check out your Norte videos next.

In answer to your question, we didn't "find" a sweater, but Pablo and Claudia bought us fleece jackets at Decathlon and brought them to us in Portomarin. They were even on clearance!
Hi Stacey and Molly, I am really loving your videos, they are giving me a great sense of what I will experience when I set off on 17th May! May I ask a question, my one massive fear is dogs and I am so worried, particularly after watching the video of you with the cows and farmers dog and this one where it seems you are walking through farms with loose dogs! My question is, are there many other pilgrims on this part of the Camino, I know I will be OK if there are other people around but in your videos quite often it looks like just the two of you? Many thanks and looking forward to your next installment! 😊
There were quite a few pilgrims in this section, but probably not enough to be completely protected from dogs. I was a little wary of the loose dogs as well, but we never had a dog problem on the Camino Frances. They are more of an issue on the Norte and the Primitivo, but still weren't as bad as I'd suspected. Also, this is a great reason to use trekking poles. I felt some degree of comfort knowing I had those for some protection, if needed. Buen Camino!

We travelled this section today and I share your fear. The dogs gave me a fright but were very docile and not interested in us. Travel with someone if you can through this section and you will be fine.
10:20 Was there a small Church with a big porch in that town?
I think my lost credential _could_ have had a stamp from Casa do Franco for eating breakfast there.
I think that there was. This was a region where the churches from 350 - 200 years old started having the porches. We love that feature.
So beautiful...Is Sarria a town or city ? The place u guys stated a hotel or alburguege ? Cost too ? 😀
I guess it is more of town. It has around 13,000 people, so it's a big town. The place we stayed really wasn't a hotel or an albergue. It was more like a private room in a house. It was a little strange, to be honest. I think we paid about 40 Euros.

I downloaded the Buen Camino app before I left, and downloaded Wise Pilgrim during the Camino at the suggestion of another pilgrim. However, I pre-booked the lodging before we left using internet seaching, booking.com, and any site I could find. They did give us a sheet at the pilgrim office in St. Jean, but we were already booked.
Poor Molly!!! She must have been so cold! Question Stacey...how did you manage the need for cash all the time? I'm told that cash is necessary for most transactions. Is that true? We are booked to travel to St JdP....leaving May 24th, returning July 5th! Very excited. You and Molly continue to be our inspiration! I told my 21 year old son this morning....104 days to take off! His response: Yikes!
We needed some cash, but not tons. I did have problems getting cash at cash machines of most major Spanish banks, as they is a “middle man” type processor between that bank and mine in the US. However, ABANKA did not have that issue, and I was able to get cash there. I think the limit was 300 Euros, so I only had to get it a couple of times.

What was the name of the town where the art shop was?
It wasn't really in a town, it was just along the trail. I think it was 2 - 3 km past Triacastela.
