Such a huge effort! Congratulations on putting this beautiful film together and sharing it with us all 🤩 the time to film, walk back and forth setting up shots and then to go home and edit such a huge film is incredible. Your effort has not gone unnoticed here 🙏🏼
I hiked the Camino Francis first in 2015. Done it multiple times since but will do the camino del norte this year. I watched many camino videos but yours is one of the best. you defiantly have a talent for storytelling. Buen Camino.
Excellent film! I was never interested in the Northern Trek but, decided to watch for a few minutes thinking it would be uninteresting. The more I watched, the more I began to be pulled in. Thank you so much for the journey!
Wow, not only a tremendous vlog but you are a natural narrator. Your voice is soothing and your commentary is spot on. I hope you do many more travel vlogs. For my money, you will do well. Peace and saftey follow you.
In 2005 I walked the camino Frances. As a woman doing it alone I had some apprehensions but in no time at all I met some wonderful pilgrims. Still in contact with one of them and I travelled to Peru, Greece and China with the other one. Beautiful memories of the Camino are ingrained in my heart and soul. Merci beaucoup.💕
This was one of the most enjoyable, thoughtful camino videos that my partner and I watched. We will be hiking the same route you did this summer, and I hope I can compose something half as enjoyable and reflective as this.
I’m just back from Camino Frances and I looked up information on Camino del Norte. I found your film and wow¡ Amazing¡ well done for capturing your journey for anyone to see. Thanks Jakein. Buen Camino ❤
Really enjoyed your video. I am 64 years old and walked many Caminos and your video captured the magic, beauty and spirit of the Camino. Thank you. You better start planning your next one !
SO beautiful! What an amazing camino you had! Thank you for sharing it with us. I head to Irun in May, I'm less nervous after seeing your wonderful experience. Ultreia! Peace and love from Chicago ...
This was the very best time since many years to meet so many nice and interesting people, to share time and have fun together. I love you all guys Will start next spring again ... but for sure also along the sea. It is great to not just have family at home - but in some way an additional "Camino Family" too. Thank you Jan for this wonderful video 🙂
Ah, nice. Some many familiar faces, and a lot of views that I can remember vividly. It brings back so many good memory, walking the CdN and the CP at the same time as you did. Thanks for making and sharing this.
This was spectacular in so many ways! Your spirit is amazing and inspiring ! You have a wonderful eye for framing your slow moving shots and the sheer effort that it took to place the camera on the ground and walk into the distance, and then come back and retrieve the camera deserves applause! 🙌 Thank you so much for sharing your experience and your beautiful cinematography! I am grateful to you, for sharing your wisdom that is so apparent even at your young age. Thank you for being courageous and for sharing so much beauty! Your willingness to savor the beauty of nature and sleep under the stars, and then share that with all of us is so luscious! I will be walking my first Camino, this September and I’m deciding which Camino to walk, your video is helping me make my decision. Gracias.
Lovely video. I watched in preparation to me leaving my old life behind and setting off to walk as many countries as i can fit into the rest of this life on earth. This one is definitely on my list so thank you! Enjoy your adventures brother❤
Congratulations on your Camino, you’ve inspired me to do the Northern and Primitivo Camino. Truly enjoyed your video need to share it with a mate. Take care and all the best. Cheers Tony
Excellent Camino video. I enjoy watching different ones to see how the Camino is done by each person. I'm also watching them as motivation. I have just begun taking chemo therapy for my cancer. WHEN I am past my cancer. I AM going to do some version of the Camino. BUEN CAMINO!
Great video and very well done. I admired your ability to sleep outside; seeing the stars in the evening and especially the lovely sunrise.. Maybe I can muster enough courage to do the same and hope for the best. Looking forward to seeing your next trip. Best
Hi! I really enjoyed your take on filming your Camino journey! Each video is of course different but yours is exceptional! You noted at the end that if one has a question to contact you. Not one time did you complain about your feet. Please tell me what shoes ( they look like Vans) you wore! I’ll be getting those! Thanks much ! Susan
I don't usually click on videos taking an hour but wow! Very inspiring video, great narrating and it even touch me, made me feel alive brother! Keep it up!
Good spirit, beautiful landscapes. In many sequences wherein the silence and the focus is on the next step, the next breath, becomes the magic of living in the very next moment. Tks for this video. I always wanted to go there, it raises now the motivation to go there soon.

Which caminos did you walk previously? Were the previous trips also on the Camino Norte, and what made you choose the Norte over the others? (I think it's a great choice, just curious to know the reasons you chose it)
The Camino del Norte was my first one. I heard people saying that it would be one of the more challenging ones because of the change in altitude. I also chose it because I like the sea 🌊
@@JanPerzylo That's one of my primary considerations too : ) I explore by sea kayak too, it lets you into worlds you can't access by foot or larger boat, and it offers new angles on land you may have walked hundreds of times
Jan what a beautiful journey and video! Great cinematography, narration, music and editing. Thank you very much for sharing. 1) What was your exact route? Which parts of the Camino Norte and Primitivo did you walk? Do you have a link to a map? 2) Which filming equipment did you use - camera, lenses, filters, action camera, gimbal, mic, editing software, etc.? The magic comes primarily from your keenly observant eye, but I'd love to know what you filmed with.
Thank you for your feedback! :) I walked the Camino del Norte until Villaviciosa. If you continue from there you will find the decision point to the Camino Primitivo. I continued on that way until Santiago and walked the Camino Fisterra in the end. Only rarely I deviated from the route but I didnt track it so I don't have a map for you. Main camera: Sony a7c with the Tamron 28-200 f2.8-5.6. I used ND Filters as well. Second camera: DJI Action 2. Very useful for the wide angles and hyperlapses. Mic: Incamera Camera Bag: Peak Design 5L Tripod: Gorillapod 3K Pro Editing Software: Davinci Resolve. Free to use and incredibly powerful. I'll probably add these infos to the description.
@@JanPerzylo Thank you very much. This was super helpful. I also think it's good to not have an exact track to follow, or if you have one to not feel you have to follow it exactly, so that you feel free to explore what you like off the trail or to make changes along the way.
@@JanPerzylo 1) Did you use any gimbals, especially with the DJI Action 2? 2) For the trail hyperlapses, was the Action 2 simply mounted on your shoulder strap? 3) Also did you only use the camera's mic and no other mic? The sound was quite good. 4) Did you carry all the memory cards and only upload them once home, or occasionally uploaded? I"ll say again, it's your observant eye, good writing, narration and editing that makes the film so great, much more than any equipment, but it's helpful to understand the equipment side of things for those of us learning to document trips in video.
@@leigha6275 The stabilization of the DJI is amazing, definitely no gimbal required. My main camera records gyrodata so I can stabilize the footage in post in catalyst browse. I used the magnetic bracelet that comes with the DJI, it's very convenient. I just attached it to my shirt. Yes only the incamera microphone. But sometimes especially at the coast or on mountains it's very windy, so sometimes I cut out the windy noise or even used some free to use sounds of ocean waves for example. I bought a 256GB SD card for my main camera. It was almost full when I returned. I transferred everything when I got back home. Thank you! 🙏
