- I visited London's West End to show you the best fabric and trim shopping in central London.
How to get there:
I started at Joel & Son, 73-87 Church St, London, NW8 8EU (Edgware Road Tube Station is nearby).
I then walked down to Liberty, Regent St, Carnaby, London, W1B 5AH. (This was a 20 - 30 min walk).
I exited Liberty onto Great Marlborough St, walked west towards Soho and turned left into Poland Street to visit MacCulloch & Wallis - 25-26 Poland St, London, W1F 8QN. (10 min. walk).
Then at the end of Great Marlborough Street I turned right into Berwick Street and walked down towards Borovick Fabrics - 16 Berwick Street, London, W1F 0HP. (5 min walk)
Finally I walked back up Berwick Street towards Oxford street and visited Fan Trimmings - 47 Berwick Street, London, W1F8SQ. (10 min walk)

I can't get to London, so I love watching your shopping/orientation trips out. If you see anything that sparks interest in you, please film it.
Thank you for your channel.
Hugs, Diane
Hi Diane, thank you, your comments are really appreciated! X
Hi Rachel, I absolutely love all your content, thanks so much! I love everything about Liberty, so anything to do with Liberty fabrics etc is greatly appreciated. Your makes are fantastic too, you have a great style and such a professional albeit down to earth approach. I’m an ex-Londoner who visits London regularly, and your videos bring up great memories (as well as evoke occasional feelings of envy!! 😂). I was in London last week and just noticed that the small makeup pouch I bought from the William Morris gallery was one of your designs! All the best to you and warmest thanks, you are truly inspirational, I am a fan! ❤
Hi Anna, thank you so much! I am very new to making UA-cam content so I am really feeling my way, but I love making the videos, I really appreciate your feedback it means a lot! I am glad you found me at the William Morris Gallery too! X
Great to see the fabric shops in London, I would love to see a trends vlog too 😊
Hi Janette, thanks, trends vlog coming soon!😊
I'd love a video on the shop trends. I can't believe I've only just found your channel. I've been wanting to do a sewing shop trawl in central London, but had no idea where to start. Thank you so much.
Hi Lisa thanks, I followed this with another video on the trends and then the patterns to make them too x
Love this as I do all your videos. Not sure the animal print fabric is for me but you could definitely pull it off. That trim shop looks incredible, thanks for sharing. Ruth x
Thanks Ruth, yes Fan trimmings is amazing! x
Binge watching your vlogs just superb !😊
Hi Mary, thank you so much 😊
Hi Rachel! I've only just found you and have enjoyed this video. It seems sad that John Lewis is no longer a 'go to' fabric shop. I moved to London in the late 70s, and JL was a dream, with almost all of the ground floor being dress fabrics. Liberty is fabulous, and I discovered Maculloch and Wallis recently on a London trip. Joels is next on my list; thank you so much for the heads up! 😂
Hi Vera, I remember the JL fabric department in the Oxford Street store with fabrics displayed on mannequins, it was fabulous. Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you enjoy your visit to Joel & Son too 😁
Hi, this was fun and I will definitely try to get to these when I am next in London. Would love to see a trends video. 😊
Hi Eileen, yes they are all worth a visit!
Yes please, I would love for you to show the fashion trends! Thank you 🙏
Hi, thanks - I will be doing a trends vid!
I love seeing the various fabric related shops. I would find an in-store trends video to be interesting and helpful.
HI Brenda, i wll definitely do a video on that in the coming weeks!
Brilliant timing for this excellent video. I’m about to visit London for the weekend and this is exactly what I needed- thanks so much, it’s incredibly helpful! I’d love to see you do a fashion trends video as well. Btw I couldn’t carry off that material but if I could I would definitely make a midi Stasia dress, which hangs beautifully and you could make it sexy and potentially you’d still have some left over for a swimsuit, which would be amazing 🤩😉🙏
Hi Sue, so glad this is helpful for you, I hope you enjoy your visit. Love the Stasia dress pattern, thank you 🙏🏻
Lovely trip. A few shops moved out of Berwick street due to the costs. I always thought the Cloth House was there but just checked and it’s only in Camden now. A trends vlog would be great from the department stores. Thanks.
Hi Sarah, yes there used to be a lot of fabric shops in Berwick St, I wanted to visit the Cloth House but I think they are only open on specific days, I will definitely visit it on another day! A trends blog will be coming soon too,🙏🏻
Great vlog as always great idea for the animal print not my thing but am sure it will look great on you 😊
Hi Linda, thank you! 😊
I love the animal print - it would look amazing as swimwear! An in-store trends video would be a real treat.
Thanks Vicky!
Thanks Vicky! I have found a simple one piece pattern so iIwill have a go, a trends vid will happen soon!
Great stuff, thanks. I think a dress in that jersey would make you feel magnificent. 😊
Watch this space, I have found the perfect dress pattern!
Great to be able to plan a fabric shop! I love your leopard print fabric. I would go for it with a Sew Over It Estelle dress (if the fabric is drapey enough). Isn’t leopard print the new neutral?
Hi, thank you, yes it’s definitely a neutral! 👍
