Nice, highly informative, comparing the different Whoops viable HD systems. I have'nt quite jumped into either yet, I'm leading towards HDZero at the minute. Have you noticed Walksnail destroying batteries after 20 or so recycles?
I think I agree. HDZero could make a big leap if they added onboard recording because the video would look just as good as Walksnail since there won't be data loss in the transmission.
One of the things that I noticed about your test is that you're running the walk snail battery down lower than you are the HD zero battery... And once you dip the WS battery down it's gonna deliver studders and blur. If you want better vision WS is where it's at hands down. And HDZ goggles seem to be having a lot of firmware issues. I run HDZ in my race drones and I love it. Not hating on them
yea used 3 different whoops. I wanted to throw in a 1s hdzero too that showed up later. Yea walksnail dies at 3.06v and close to it suffers a little. I use my the walksnail now just now for most recording not going crazy. Also worried video cut on punch out lol.. though im good till 3.4v. Yea this was on the last firmware 13042023 Im loving the HDZ goggles just the weight with the walksnail VRX a little annoying. And think it makes the goggles angle weird. I really need removeable mount for the walksnail VRX. But i use my Nano20 walksnail alot. My hdzero 1s and 2s i just been using indoors playing. I want to build a bigger walksnail and HDzero
I have noticed a bug I had to restart goggles. 1 of the flights where I said it's breaking up more. I noticed that. I also lost antenna rssi. But did better after restart. Also 16:9full seems to get more break up. Walksnail I adjusted the vtx power gain adjustment. Now it seem to hit 50mbps more. Though walksnail said I shouldn't have that problem in whoop board. Their fix was connect to 5v but I got so much interference mbps tank to 1mbps on boner throttle. .
You need to cut off the battery tray and use good dogcom 550mah 1s lipos. Then the walksnail has no more video cut out with voltage sag. I had the same issues.
Yea I cut it on 2s a lil mounted battery in center. I have cut it on old drones. Flown bigger better batteries. I'll look into that battery. My gnb 660mah don't fit
been running R1 assuming lower than my wifi. Might try R8. I also did have glitched where reception seemed worse even on take off (maybe hot VTX) i restarted then seemed better. These are my first flights with it. Went to test it more today but forgot to grab whoop on way out haha went to film with bigger drone wanted to test HDzero after lol.
lol you do realize the walksnail will drop link quality on low battery right? seems like EVERY time you talked about the WS the battery was below 3.5v which is when the WS system drops to 3.0v VTX and less than 100mw to save flight battery...this video is super misleading...
Yea its a whoop. Pretty much drops to 3.5v fast. I edited out parts of video to just get simular runs of the 2 drones. Didnt really pay attention battery. Walksnail pretty fine till 3.4v but after 3.4v The battery tanks pretty fast anyway. 3.06v the whole walksnail turns out. under 3.3v it loses some performance but drone going to turn off in 15sec at that point.
The circle issue with 16:9 FULL can be resolved with certain lenses, at least with the Micro V2 camera (see Ryan Quellet's videos on that). Not sure how that applies to the whoop camera. 6:30 Your breakup here, specifically the horizontal lines moving down the screen, is actually Wi-Fi interference, I think. Moving to a different channel should fix that.
Who makes a 3w analog vtx? I know foxeer has a 5w vtx but it's pretty big. I have the 2.5 w foxeer reaper extreme and haven't ever needed to use it on 2.5 I keep it on 1.5
I have. I usually have them chase the drone. I get close entice them then run lol then turn around lol. I have to get new ones. I normally dont post just send to a friend
I prefer my hdzero whoops vs my walsknail ones. Quality is less but they feel a lot more connected and more predictable. Great video!
Yea I should of made the walksnail the 2s one. When battery gets low if i punch it too much video dies.

I'm so more of an individual tests. I decided just to put this together last minute from clips I had.

Nice tests, comparisons and commentary. Cheers!

I hope HDZ in future works on the breakup. They have come along way I’m lookin forward to seeing what they do I’m the future. Where’s the dog?

To me it's look like the Walksnail video is true HD and the HDzero video is compressed (analog) data.

The scanning horizontal breakup pattern is wifi. I jump to another channel like r1 or r8 when i see this

I thought the same. Pattern lines look like Wi-Fi interference.

He did say the WS is better suited for a 2s as 1s whoops can easily drop below 3.5v on punch outs.

Yea I wish i made the 2s the walksnail. I didnt do it after cause then id just have 2 HDzero 1S drones. So IDK lmao

C'mon son
Use the same battery power for both tests.
Thank you.. next time ill try make sure power is the same
I want to see you play with the cat!!!!
