    Very nicely done video. My only tips for hdzero are 1) ditch the true rc stubbies. I get the worst performance using those and its noticeable. Your rankings will still be the same, but it should cure the full screen flashes a nice amount. Go with spironets or vas mad mushroom. 2nd tip is I noticed you look down more wearing the hdzero setup so I recommend tilting the patches upwards like 25° or so. This also helps a ton out farther cause hdzero doesn't do diversity. It needs to use all 4 signals, so when your beam angle is headed toward the ground, far out you're basically on your omnis mostly. Again, I'm not saying it'll be night and day or anything like that , but if you do fly it again it will definitely increase your experience. I have a bunch of penetration tests on my page :).

      Hey man thanks for the comment, nice to have a view from hdzero royalty 🙂. I watch your stuff all the time, appreciate the tips 👍. The real test here was between analog and hdzero, dji is kind of a whole other thing in regard to what was being tested. Just built a fettec 15a 2.5 inch quad with the Hdzero whoop board and I LOVE it!

For flying med-long lines in a bando though dji is the way to go. They all have their place imo

Mostly because a person pretty much needs to be way up high to get good long range, and I enjoy flying around objects, through trees, and weaving through the environment. Flying up high, in the open air, hell...you might as well have a Mavic! How is FPV long range any different from a Mavic long range? Sure, there is some, but not much! Open air flying up high is boring! And, what's the point of going so far? So, you can brag to your buddies about how far ya went? Finding a quad that far from you is futile - if not totally futile, really close! I do not see the point! lol

    This is a really solid comparison. I want to love HDZero *so* much, Each time they update it, I think "This will be the time!" but it never quite is. I thought the 1000mw Tx was going to be the game changer, but it's still not. Like you said, my main issue is how the tiling goes from minor to a full screen wipeout in under a second. Analog doesn't look as nice when the coast is clear, but gives you a plenty of warning before totally crapping out. Subscribed! Great job!

      Then, after seeing how Analog & HDZero did, then watching DJI, and how he was only using 25mbps, and not 50mbps like most of us use, it's craZy how DJI really doesn't noticeably distort or have any fuzz at all!
      What I don't get is ALL OF THE HATE towards DJI! Dji's FPV system is the single best innovation in the history of the FPV hobby! Noting else is even close! But, still we have guys hating on it as if it's their life goal! LOL I just don't get it!
      I swear it must be all of the analog guys that tell themselves they can't afford it, yet they fail to even post any of the analog gear they don't use as much to see how much they can sell it for on the used market!
      My friend does that a lot and has purchased ALL the DJI gear, including multiple Caddx Vistas, the V2 goggles, and everything needed to fly DJI - just with the funds he recouped from selling gear he already had that he wasn't using as much. It's not rocket science, and it was super easy for him to do! :)

      @@KOrnhOliO1 In my case, I went directly to DJI FPV combo and never regret it at all. My decision was that I could re-use google and then purchase a controller and custom drone later because I was a newbie in FPV. Some people I asked said that I should go to analog first. But having thought of the DJI's multiple modes of flying convinced me to choose the dji fpv drone. Yes for analog, we can start using a cheaper drone, but it was not a fair comparison to DJI. Because if we buy an analog system that is of the same quality it would probably be the same or even more expensive. And as a resale value, you are right. Great comparison video, call me old school but analog seems like a way to go for a freestyle pilot, you might not be getting that colorful, HD image, but you still have full control, "none washy" feel of the quad. When you're flying in sketchy spots I'd rather have a crappy video signal strength as long as it's manageable to see and orient my self, than a crappy flight performance and full screen blurs or flashes, and be more likely to crash.

    • @int3fpv
      @int3fpv  2 роки тому +2

      I think for bandos, especially larger ones DJI is going to be the best all rounder. Where you still have an analog image any latency in the dji feed isn’t going to stop you dojng anything, it’s more of a subtle feeling - personally I find it ruins the immersion a bit despite the much better and stable picture. Seeing gaps sooner and clearer is going to be a big advantage though. I fly very close up usually and hard, not far to walk when the crashes come lol so I still fly analog the most. I’ve built a hdzero sub250 micro for around the garden and house and I love it, much improved image from analog and rainbow screen isn’t an issue because you’re so close. They each have their pros and cons, but I’d say dji is the best all rounder for most freestylers

      I like using DJI all the time. Analog seems so primitive after you've flown DJI a lot! I think a lot of that unconnected feeling in part is our brain telling us what we've heard...that DJI has variable latency, so our brain attempts to make us actually feel something that, at least some of the time, is just in our brain! The brain is very complex and can fool us into thinking something is there, when it's actually you HEARING something is supposed to be there, so your brain makes you feel it is. Yes, I feel that there's is something to it, but not nearly what people sometimes make it out to be!
      Look at JB's and Stingy's blind test they did. Neither of them could tell the latency at all, and their guesses of what they were flying turned out to actually show exactly that! It showed neither could tell which system had the latency, and what I said above...that our brains trick us into thinking we feel it when we know which system we are flying, but it's actually not there, if it's a blind test and we don't know which system is supposed to have the added latency. In their blind test - there's was no way for them to tell which was which, so their brain wasn't able to trick them into thinking there was more latency on one system. The brain is a power thing, and this is a real thing, it tricking us to thinking what we've heard is supposed to be there. Just go watch their test! ;)
      I fly DJI a lot and don't feel any significantly difference than when I fly analog. I don't fly super far away, but when I got out there a ways with analog, as soon as I'd go behind this small bush or a tree with no leaves on it, I'd lose 90% of my image and crash or nearly crash.
      With DJI, nothing happens!
      It simply penetrates the object and I see no distortion 99% of the time!
      It's SUCH A BREATH OF FRESH AIR to actually fly with an HD image that is crystal clear 90%+ of the time.
      It's reinvigorated my love of FPV because the image quality doesn't look like a CRT TV from the 70's using rabbit ears, that's too far from the main TV antennas! ... Snow, fuzz, rolling image, rainbow distortion, etc, etc, etc!
      I fly with a DIGITAL CRYSTAL CLEAR image and love every minute of it! There is no comparison! And, if DJI is a 10 - best image quality FPV has ever seen. Then, HDZero is a 5 and analog is a 4, IMO.
      To me, the WORST VALUE here is HDZero, because you do not get that huge improvement in image quality and especially not in penetration, that you get with DJI. So, to pay the price of HDZero to get the relatively small improvements, is NOT WORTH THE MONEY! On the other hand, when you get the massive improvements DJI gives us, it's totally worth the upgrade! Flying FPV with HD Crystal Clear Image Quality, even way out there, and behind objects, is SO DAMN FUN! It gives me much more confidence. =(:^)-

      @@KOrnhOliO1 We fly HDZero not for image quality, but for lower latency (even if it is negligible), open source, and repairability. I recently had to replace a fuse in my HDZero goggles because I did something dumb and broke it. $8 repair for $600 goggles. I soldered the exact same chip to where the old one was.
      In my eyes, that's far preferable to shipping my goggles to DJI and waiting for them to fix it. But to each their own.
      Also, I can add Walksnail or analog to my goggles, which is nice.
      There are people who should fly DJI and people who should fly HDZero. I personally prefer the latter.

    • @KOrnhOliO1
      @KOrnhOliO1 Рік тому

      @@T1Ledlie I have heard of no one that has had any problems with any of the DJI Goggles or Vistas. JB has said he hasn't heard anyone with issues either. In fact he's actually said the gear is practically bullet proof. So reliable it's in another class above any other products in FPV. SOLID.
      YES! HDZero is the format to use if you are into racing. 👍 But for freestyle, again as JB pointed out, the snow HDZero gives is not like analog snow! It's sparklies snow that is really, Really bright and colorful sparkling pixels. Super difficult to look at! ... Really hurts my eyes. I couldn't fly with it. Too bright and obnoxious! 😵‍💫
      Plus, penetration is ridiculously pathetic, so it's not really good for flying freestyle.
      When it comes down to abilities, HDZero has it for racing, but anything else and it's really not even close! JB can't even fly around his property, which maybe goes 100m from where he's sitting in any direction, at the most, and still HDZero gives a ton of those hard to view sparklies! WalkSnail and can fly his property with barely any distortion to the image. DJI can fly with none, and if a person uses 03, that's game over! Nothing is even in the same universe! 🤘
      Flying down his road and you'll get a little ways with HDZero, if a person can deal with all the sparklies before going blind! Lol
      WalkSnail will make it much further, with much easier on your eyes distortion when it goes. DJI goes way farther than either and has way better, virtually crystal clear image quality almost down to the sign at the end of his road. 03 gets all the way to the sign and then some, with almost no break up. And, a person can fly clearly all the way down to 2 or 3mbps! 😳 Again, it's in a class by itself, especially with the 1080p in the Goggles and onboard 20gb DVR with 4K / 120fps recording!!! WalkSnail's 1080p isn't good, and HDZero only dreams of having it!
      Reliability and durability is also in a completely different league than WalkSnail and HDZero. It's not even remotely close cuz DJI just doesn't break or fail. Not that we've seen. There's probably someone out there, but they're a rare unicorn 🦄!
      So, racing, HDZero gets the nod, but anything farther than 150 ft. and I for one would go BLIND from those ever present hideous sparklies! They literally hurt my eyes watching them in my TV, watching JB'd video! Damn, those are enough for me to say "NO WAY IN HELL!"
      So, save your eyes and fly very, Very close. 🎇🎇🎇🎇🧑‍🦯🙈 Or, just refuse to put up with technology that just honestly isn't that advanced. Carl has done a marvelous job with what Fatshark discarded, with a really great features set on his goggles! But! That doesn't change the fact that the tech inside HDZero isn't even close to as advanced as WalkSnail and DJI. World's apart!
      It's why Fatshark gave up on it.
      Close in Racing, fine. Bring on those eye blinding sparklies and I say I enjoy having my eyesight way too much to risk going blind from that! It's terrible! 🤢🤮💩🧑‍🦯

      I do not contest that DJI wins for image quality. They do. However, image quality isn't my top priority. IMO, HDZero goggles are the *best* value for money goggles out there because DJI works with DJI, and HDZero covers everything else. I'm also super lucky if DJI were to ever release a VRX(which they won't).

Unfortunately, no one responded positively to this letter, which I have been sending in despair for a week now, and only a few people have given at least some answer. please, if you still have the opportunity to respond to this letter, if it does not sound pathetic, but it is really a matter of life and death. thank you god bless you

      This is a practical real world user test with typical setups for each system not a lab test. As an extensive user of all 3 systems I can confidently say no amount of tweeking antennas or a few hundred mw of power is going to change the outcome. Check out Chris Rosser or MadsTech youtube channels if you want a lab comparason of the systems.
      For the record I fly mostly hdzero as I fly freestyle very close to myself usually and appreciate the steady latency.

  • @CesiumSalami
    @CesiumSalami 2 роки тому +2

    Nicely done! It's crazy how personal these visual things are. Like, owning both DJI and analog, this is pretty close to how I see things on my end, but in the end analog is easier to fly (for me) - most of my issues are like when you're around @8:15 on DJI where you mention it being "blurry" whereas, again, for me, analog is perfectly flyable - which I swear is much more of an issue with overcast vs blue sky. One you're in the bando though DJI just blows everything out of the water... I just don't spend much time inside structures. It's just amazing how easily I fly through rainbows and static vs. chunky digital mud. DJI's ability to fly off axis of your antenna is absolutely incredible. Those menace patches are a pretty big detriment to rf performance though ... the TrueRC / VAS patches really end up being pretty superior in my experience. But really nice to see this vs HDZero. but...I'm in the minority, I think re: DJI. But mid range cruising DJI also just destroys :)

    • @int3fpv
      @int3fpv  2 роки тому +2

      Hey cheers for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. I actually value a consistent latency over ultimate penetration and image quality for most of what I like to do so I actually fly analog and increasingly hdzero 90% of the time. Even close up I find dji to feel weird at times, in all honesty don’t think it’s enough to stop me doing anything as in the end footage would be the same, but it’s enough to ruin the the feel. Which is kinda funny it’s maybe as I’ve flown analog for years, a lot of people would ask how it ruins the feel when the image quality in compassion is so bad 😄

    • @CesiumSalami
      @CesiumSalami 2 роки тому +1

      @@int3fpv exactly! and yeah - having flown analog for soooo long i'm really fairly disciplined about where I look in relation to the quad, which took a long time to get good at make an enormous difference. I don't know if it's latency or compression related stutters, but i have the same feels, where something is just off. I recently, however, move to a location with a lot more mid range cruising for 7&8" quads and just general scenery, so my DJI stuff is definitely going to get used more than in the past. previously flying almost totally in the woods in and out of the canopy my DJI stuff just collected dust...

I’d be able to improve my results by using taller omnis I’d say. I later tried using the supplied direct ufl antenna on the vtx that was supplied instead of the pigtail and lolipop but this made no difference as far as I could see.

    The only thing i could recommend is running them all on Raceband 1 since the lowest freq will always have the best penetration. Make sure the output is equal, 1w will always outperform 800mw. The other thing is the quality of antennas used between the system. Your HD setups have much higher quality receiving antennas than your analog system did. Other than those three things everything else was good.

  • @daemn42

    Your results are consistent with what I saw when I tested the original Shark Byte gear against analog and DJI at equivalent power levels, back in 2020. I have not really seen any significant improvements in the quality of the signal with HDZero since then. Higher power only brings it on par with high powered analog. DJI is just in a class of its own when it comes to NLOS performance, and it's even *better* with the full sized AU with two antennas as can use true MIMO. DJI seems to excel in places with high multipathing, to the point that I can fly deep below LOS behind solid earth, especially there is something Rf reflective nearby like rocks or powerline poles and such. I've got a video where I'm flying 10+m below LoS 200-300m away.

    • @int3fpv
      @int3fpv  2 роки тому

      Yeah DJI is in its own class in this environment really. Personally I think hdzero has improved in a lot of ways - the 4:3 micro v2 is massive improvement from the first runcam 16:9 camera, I hated 16:9 and didn’t use the system because of it until the 4:3 camera came out. Canvas osd is a big + too.
