Alex, this is really timely video. I’ve been struggling off and on for the last several years with my irons. Nothing is more frustrating than hitting long beautiful drives only to have the ball go 30-45 degrees right with the irons. It’s not a shank, but it’s just as bad. For some reason I just cannot seem to consistently square the club face and release the club with the shorter clubs. This happens often regardless of the conditions, but especially if it’s windy or I’m trying to hit the ball extra solid. I really need to focus on the last part of the swing as you showed in your instruction. Do you have any other videos that you think might help?
Another great video Alex. If I could offer a suggestion on this video and upcoming videos: you have an awesome swing and you should hit the ball more often with full swings from different camera angles. This is inspirational and adds to the instruction.
A few people do ask... Just I don't want people thinking they have to swing like me. If they are a bit older, less mobile etc, it's not quite the same. But I should as I get asked a lot... Appreciate the feedback and kind words about my swing:)
I love this. Thank you. Used to consistently compress the ball when I played all the time when I was younger. Since getting back into golf heavily a year ago, I often hit it fat or just a bit heavy. Off a short tee or off harder turf I'm fine but fluffy lies and wet turf has been killing me! I appreciate this lesson.
Ugh I can’t stand the squishy ground! I like a little pre set de loft and if I take that to wet grass or soggy fairway I’ll get all turf and no ball sometimes lol. I have to open face a bit n be more vertical w shaft at address n that’s already in my head to deal w in those conditions. Chipping is much harder too n you really have to give it some gas or it’s very easy to chunk.
I am currently doing this, and it is getting better. I added a different exercise and you showed a bit of it, it was hitting with my dominant hand only. It was hard at first, but once I got the feel I added my trail hand. Thanks for your videos. Happy wackadoodling.
Hi Alex, in the ball-then-turf impact, does the club face strike the ball a bit above the ball's equator travelling into the turf in front of the ball for the squeezing effect?
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf it's definitely something I'm going to look at, I might already be doing it but I've just got a slight problem with my swing that is costing me consistently, I was swinging perfect before all these lockdowns but since the last lockdown I've been struggling with my swing
Alex, nice video! Question...in the downswing, how do we shallow the clubface if the clubface matches our spine angle which appears slightly closed? Thanks
Nice clean example Alex. Looks like ball position is roughly 2 inches inside the left heel. Is that correct? And what's the weight ratio on left leg to begin-60%?
Hi there. I am a 70 year old golfer getting back in the game after a long layoff. When I make my back swing I find it hard to keep my eye on the ball. My body seems to take my head with it. Is this a neck mobility fault or something else. Regards Nick.
You could be turning too flat. Have neck turned in or your mobility there is lacking. In your set up, just turn your neck to the left (if okay right) then make your backswing. See ho that works. If you can it’s the former ideas
How to you hit or strike your irons now? Will you try at least of of these to help your iron ball striking?

Alex,
Pushing off and using ground forces has been a huge help in improving my golf swing.
Excellent and keep at it 👍🏌️♂️
Great video. Will help me avoid early extension.
Yep! Also grip down a bit :)

Another great video Alex, I will take this lesson to the range next time.

Excellent breakdown and extremely helpful. Thank you!

I appreciate your recommendation of moving the hand path to the right as the body rotates.
Very helpful video lesson! Thank you!
Glad to hear it!

Magnificent, just perfect lesson
Too kind! Hope it helps
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf It improved so much my swing, amazing
Cool man I had great ideas from your opinion!thanks.
Glad I could help
I loved watching the Pros hitting 3 irons into the par 3s at the Open
They are pretty good:)
Simple golf? Many components and swing thoughts.
Only need one, and it's helping folks find the feel they need individually.

That’s about right :)

The path is shallow. Not face. But one key is to have low hands feel before. ua-cam.com/video/KrtoIGv-uq0/v-deo.html

Being a senior 71 yrs old would opening stance help the turn through the ball?

@@TheArtofSimpleGolf Thanks for your advice, will try that out. Great site, love what you are doing.
This is the “ modern “ swing that PGA tour players utilize vs the traditional method.
I see a shank ahead
Hopefully not
I love these click bait videos.
Not the goal to do that. Sorry you felt so
