I used that tweeter as a replacement for some vintage speakers where the tweeters had failed in multiple ways. The speaker sounds great and can get loud without being harsh. It's original midrange driver helped with that, having no break up until 8k which is much higher than what it would be crossed over at.
They look amazing and surely sound so aswell! Thumbs up! As I am new to this but am really keen on learning more about it, I would be really interested about the electronics you put inside of the speakers and to what their purpose is and how they work. Is there a video where you explain how that works and how to build something like it?
Hi, I am not a speaker builder, but I always wondered why people don't cut panels openings for drivers and terminal panel first? If you make mistake you only wasted one board instead of already glued speaker box. At least he cuts drivers openings before gluing, but then cuts terminal panel opening after gluing the back panel. Why?
I bought the plans. I need some speakers for watching movies via projector. From almost infinite projects on the internet this one caught attention. The plans are very precise and looks like from HiFi audio magazine. Very nice concept. I cant wait to start building it and to hear it. I expect to build also subwoofer in the future. They are not entirely budget since its around 23euro plans, 200euros for speakers and crossover + 30 euro wood and another 30 euro for surface and 20 for sound dampening + terminals. Just to be aware that things changed. Im very curious if its gonna sounds better than Edifier S360DB what is very close competition.
Thanks for your support! These are great little speakers, I am sure you will enjoy listening to them. Yes, prices of components have risen in the last few years, but I think you will still end up with a better speaker than you can buy off the shelf, and be able to say that you have built them yourself 😊
Nice billed , I am looking for a LS50 wireless clone with a similar coax driver . That would be a tempting project. I travel a lot for work and would like a small hi end portable aktiv speaker 🔈👍🏻
Thanks. The speedsters will be very good as it uses higher quality drivers that are much more expensive IMO. I think you will be happy with their sound in the end. More high end than budget, which is the difference in the end between the two. It's all about value for money, and I think you will get very good value from the speedsters if you pair them with good equipment.

Hi, what are the external dimensions of these speakers? I'm trying to decide between these and the Overnight Sensation speakers which use the same woofer. I love the look of yours. I suggest putting dimensions in the description as they can be an important deciding factor.
Do you prefer a U-shaped sound or an even response? The mids seem a bit cold, but I guess that is probably just the second-hand listening through a video effect.
I usually prefer a slight U-shape, but this one it pretty flat. It is not that cold in reality, and sounds quite balanced. Even though I normally prefer U-shape, I tune each speaker to where I feel it sounds best. This does not always result in a U-shape response though.
