    For approximately $80 plus the cost of wood and a few other parts, you can build yourself a set of budget 2-way stand mount speakers that will blow everything else available off the shelf away. These speakers are as good with music as they will perform in a home theatre setup, and will perform equally well as near-field monitors. Soundstage and imaging is excellent and the vocals are very neutral with a clear high end that is detailed and will not become fatiguing over time. Put them on solid speaker stands and they will give you a solid bass response that is not boomy and sounds just right.

      It is called an L-pad and consists of the two resistors. This configuration matches the impedance between the source and load.

    Hi, I am not a speaker builder, but I always wondered why people don't cut panels openings for drivers and terminal panel first? If you make mistake you only wasted one board instead of already glued speaker box. At least he cuts drivers openings before gluing, but then cuts terminal panel opening after gluing the back panel. Why?

The plans are very precise and looks like from HiFi audio magazine. Very nice concept. I cant wait to start building it and to hear it. I expect to build also subwoofer in the future. They are not entirely budget since its around 23euro plans, 200euros for speakers and crossover + 30 euro wood and another 30 euro for surface and 20 for sound dampening + terminals. Just to be aware that things changed. Im very curious if its gonna sounds better than Edifier S360DB what is very close competition.

    I bought the plan a while ago and I want to start building them, but I'm unsure of the amp board I want to use. Is the Arylic up2stream 2.1 a good choice or does it lack the power? Could you help me with some advice?

    • @SoundBlab
      @SoundBlab  Рік тому +1

      Hi, awesome! The Arylic 2.1 will have more than enough power to drive these, and you can then also add a sub to fill in the low end a bit. However, these have pretty good bass for its size.

    Hi...I am looking for stuff for this build. What radius is used for outer corners and what is the thickness of the boards. I want to make sure I can get everything before ordering the plans.

    • @SoundBlab

      The radius is approximately 3/4 inch or 19mm and the board thickness is 5/8 inch or 16mm MDF.

    i am planning to build something very similar but maybe with slightly different drivers how would i calculate the watts needed for the speakers and how would i find a good amp for them, also im planning on buying a premade crossover. how would i figure out what watts for amp and would it matter if the tweeter is different wattage to the woofer?

    Do you prefer a U-shaped sound or an even response? The mids seem a bit cold, but I guess that is probably just the second-hand listening through a video effect.

    • @SoundBlab
      @SoundBlab  Рік тому

      I usually prefer a slight U-shape, but this one it pretty flat. It is not that cold in reality, and sounds quite balanced. Even though I normally prefer U-shape, I tune each speaker to where I feel it sounds best. This does not always result in a U-shape response though.

      @@SoundBlab So does it put a 6 ohm load on the amp ? Sorry , I have built a few speakers over the years but I am not an expert in electronics , always thought you had to use ohm rating equal to or higher than what the amp was designed for ?

    Hi, what are the external dimensions of these speakers? I'm trying to decide between these and the Overnight Sensation speakers which use the same woofer. I love the look of yours. I suggest putting dimensions in the description as they can be an important deciding factor.

    Hi mate, how do they compare to the c-note kit from part express ?

    • @SoundBlab
      @SoundBlab  Рік тому +1

      Have not been able to hear the C-notes for myself, so I cant really give you an informed opinion. However, the Dynamites is a very good speaker with good drivers, and the build plans gives you the option to tune the treble to your taste. The midrange is pleasant with remarkably deep bass for such a small driver. Overall the frequency response is pretty flat and well tuned for music listening. It is definitely one of my favourite builds that I have done, and have received good feedback from some that has already built it.

    Hi @SoundBlab I'm trying to build my first speaker with same drivers you are using, The issue is my 2.1 amp has 50 watt per channel.
    I can see RMS of :
    Hi-Vi B4N - 25watt
    Peerless BC25TG15-04 - 50watt
    So it is 75watt is im not wrong? can my 50w per channel handle your hardware configuration?
