    Wow. Thank you for sharing. I have been dealing with doctors this entire year and previous years who made me fight for my thyroid diagnoses and testing. It’s always “ you’re anxious” or “your tests are healthy” low and behold my previous test show elevated peroxidase hormones and sonogram shows a swollen thyroid. I am finally being referred to an endocrinologist with a concern for Graves Disease. Finally.
    Thank you for sharing, and reminded us that thyroid flare ups may not show in charts but they show in anxiety and all these other symptoms that we experience. Standing by your body and what you feel is so important.

    Hello I have hyperthyroidism so is it best to cut out dairy products? Because I love dairy.

    • @ItsBonnieAdams
      @ItsBonnieAdams  3 роки тому

      Dairy I would say is number one. You don't have to cut it out cold turkey but start to find dairy alternatives, figure out what you like and just go from there. I had initially cut it out cold turkey which was rough. after a few months I slowly introduced it back into my diet and then I realized it didn't agree with my body at all. But from there I slowly found alternatives to milk and cheese. There are some things that I consume that have trace dairy products but I try not to beat myself up about it... I just try to do better next time.

    • @ItsBonnieAdams
      @ItsBonnieAdams  2 роки тому +2

      I’m sorry you’re going through this, but the very facts that you are doing your own research getting to this video says you will get through this. It took about 2 years for my eyes to get to a bit of normalcy. And even after that I had fluctuations of them bulging. I have a feeling it’s definitely linked to my stress levels in my worst days. But give the meds some time to work and try and find a ophthalmologist or neuroophthalmologist that can check you about every 6 months to monitor your eyes. They will begin to measure the protruding of your eyes and monitored them to see if it gets worst. They tend to monitor for about 2 years from the onset of the bulging in hope it will correct itself. After that time period they may consider other options depending on severity. There is now a drug on the market that targets this issue but I have a feeling they won’t even consider that until you’re a little more balanced. Wishing you wellness and healing ❤️‍🩹

      Hey, I got diagnosed in July last year and yes, I take Carbimazole daily. I started on quite a high dose and my doctor has reduced that over time as my condition has improved. For some people, treatment with anti-thyroid medication like Carbimazole reduces the swelling - that’s been the case for me. Also, dietary and lifestyle changes can go a long way - that has also been my experience. You can learn more on my channel; I have a couple of videos up there. Stay well 💕

    • @ItsBonnieAdams
      @ItsBonnieAdams  3 роки тому

      yes, i take Methimazole 2.5 mg daily. As far as I am aware there's nothing you can actively do to reduce the swelling. Mine just reduced in size on its own. However, I'm not quite yet in remission. I do think the slight lifestyle changes have aided in my improvement.

    Update here I have been told today I do have Graves’ disease 🥺😭I don’t feel like anything has been explained properly by the endocrinologist she only had a 8 min conversation with me today and I had to ask about the tsh antibody test because she ws trying to cut of the phone to me even then and yeah she basically cut me of on the phone I’m so upset it was so rude and rushed. Does anyone know how this affects maternity? I am getting a 48 hour cardio monitor soon as my heart feels like it has weird rhythms and I get flutters and quivering in my chest and stomach. Is it normal to see your heart beat through your stomach I am not really skinny either I am 13 stone 10 and 5ft 8 ?

    • @ItsBonnieAdams
      @ItsBonnieAdams  3 роки тому

      Yes I remember your comment last year. I’m so sorry you’re still experiencing such symptoms and haven’t had the best support from your dr. In the beginning when I was near a storm and about 3/4 months after starting treatment I had crazy heart palpitations and was prescribed tapazole.
      So yes those crazy heart beats is a common symptom of hyperthyroidism but you should be treating it right away. I was in a 48 hour heart monitor also and they wanted me to record by a push button every time I had weird heart flutterss. Then I got the meds. Is that what dr plans to do?

    • @ItsBonnieAdams

      @@Angiedisney14 oh wow. In getting out of this funk it’s so important to have at least one medical professional who’s just willing to listen and it seems like they aren’t on your side. With what I know about healthcare, If I was in your shoes right now my next move would be to utilize your insurance. If you have decent health care insurance you need to speak to them and have then help you find a preferred endocrinologist. Not a nurse practitioner, not an internist, not a general physician. Look for a endocrinologist specialist.
      Then from that list do your own research, read reviews, and rank those endos to your liking. Then try and see if they will see you ASAP. I never tell ppl to lie but you essentially need to insist you are in dire need as your symptoms have not changed in over a year, particularly your heart.
      And unfortunately in these days a lot of the education you need for your body and condition will come from yourself. Because if all fails and you need to continue care with your current provider, It will help you become more knowledgeable about how to demand what you need. Never be intimated by their doctor authority ( they’re just people too

      Another update here- after a long time on carbimazol I went into remission. I am still in remission and I don’t need to take the medicine atm but still getting blood tests. My heart symptoms after lots of tests heart mri, stress test, and heart monitor. I was told I have a structurally normal heart I was having many ventricular ectopics and in rhythms of bigeminy and trigeminy. It was at a 12 percent burden. So I was given medication bisoprolol which worked wonders for me. I cut out caffeine and I don’t drink alcohol. The weird thing was I went into remission as my heart symptoms got worse. I am suspicious of the vaccines for covid for this seeing as covid gave me graves I think it had a lot to do with my heart symptoms getting worse. I have been offered a heart ablation but I have said no and I’m recently as my own personal decision trying to stop my bisoprolol. I can still feel my ectopics but I am able to pin point them better what makes them worse and realised now I can’t have chocolate as that has caffeine and without the medicine I can’t mask it. I get them in hot baths and if I feel too full up. I have put in a lot of weight from these medicines. I take now lots of vitamins d and ashwagander and multivitamins. I was also deficient in vitamins d after I had covid when I was tested. I try and eat organic vegetables as much as possible now. But anyway I am feeling much better my heart is still a hard thing to control and is early days without this medicine. I think although the graves is in remission I still don’t feel like I did before all of this but I am trying to . I also want to say I messaged thyroid uk about my story and they confirmed the vaccine for covid has caused many people with graves to come out of remission. I will personally not be takeing any more covid vaccines again

    • @ItsBonnieAdams
      @ItsBonnieAdams  2 роки тому

      @@merissaclarke7839 oh Yh I was on beta blockers for about 3ish months. Had period where I was on and off because all my symptoms would come and go like a rollercoaster. Then again not too long ago but my doctor and I come to realise it was just really bad anxiety (which I’ve become more sensitive to since dealing with graves). I’ve been taking methimazole consistently in various small amounts for since 2017 and my Endo is closely watching my tsi antibody level (which is a major blood result factor in monitoring your graves and getting into remission) so hopefully this year will be a good year in getting there.
      The internal vibrations, if on the same symptoms were what I called jitters. Felt like flutters inside my body especially when my symptoms were on high and with my heart, in the morning soon after waking up, or when I’ve gone too long without eating (which wouldn’t be that long, but you’re metabolism is going so fast it’s digesting everything before you’ve had a chance to think about the next meal 🙃). I would just always try to have water or a thermos of hot herbal tea or hot water at my bedside at night. Mainly to stay hydrated and relaxed when I first wake up or get up in the middle night, which happens a lot. Sometimes even a light snack would help so I already have something going on my stomach before moving too much. I suffered with debilitating acid reflux during my first year so eating or drinking something light before moving was imperative for me. Had many nights I had to sleep upright because of it.
