Thanks for the inside look. When raising the head, the motor sounds like it is free-spinning and doesn't stop. Maybe the gears are striped. I ordered a replacement motor and will look at it when I replace it. I definitely have a better understanding of how this works now.

Great video. Any ideas why both head and foot would stop operating simultaneously. It must be a common problem to both motors or their control system. I plugged the power cord into multiple outlets. Still not working. Is there a fuse common to both motors or their controls?

I have the Prodigy 2 by Leggett and Platt- the remote illuminates, but the bed does not respond-the green led power light underneath the bed is not lit.

Thanks wry much, this is best video I’ve seen on the topic. With my mother’s bed with okimat motor, the head goes up with no problem but then will not go down (the foot control works fine in both directions). I opened it up per your video and see the vertical motor screw works fine going in one direction (pushing the block out) but nothing happens when the remote tries to move the block back in. Does this sound like something that can be repaired or does the entire unit need to be replaced?

i have the same exact problem. Works like a charm on the foot. I even have an extra motor to lift the bed up and down and also works. But the head goes up but doesn't come down... Did you find the solution? I think it is the switch that is having a problem. Or the remote...

I just purchased one of these bases and I greatly appreciate the video on how they operate and what the internals look like. Like I said it's brand new but if I have any problems your company will be my first call. Thanks again for the information.

Select comfort used plastic hinges in the bed frame. You can replace them with hinges for doors. Just take the old hindge to match up the holes.

Hi, I have a Okimat 2 and some time ago I crushed the 'mains insulator' I removed it and wanted to replace it with a regular power plug. I found four wires in it and don't know which to use. Can you give some tips. It will spare me the time and effort to take apart the drives and figure out which two to use and what to do with the other wires

      Hi Frans,
You can replace the internal transformer and power cable relatively easy. The cost for that part is $45 + shipping. I would not recommend splicing wires and reattaching a power cord as this could be dangerous. Those motors need a specific amount of power that the factory cord provides. Hope that answers your question. Please call us @ 615-336-2875 for assistance. Thanks for the inquiry!

Hi, I need to repair an Okimat IPS. The internal power supply is dead. I want to replace it with an external power supply, but I don't know the output voltage and the minimum output current. Could you please write these parameters? Thank you in advance!
