Your channel is my go to for learning about GarageBand on iPad. There are so few channels that really explain these things in depth especially for using this on iPad because if anything it will just be explained if you use it on Mac, or fl studio, logic, etc. Thank you so much for taking the time to really help people learn how to navigate this especially on our phones, you’re really helping me take my music to a new level! I appreciate you Pete !!
Thanks for being one of the only people I’ve seen teaching this program. I made my 2021 album on an IPhone (knowing only the bare basics) and I’m currently working on another. Decided to learn my shit in the process this time. Do you know if there’s a free dynamic EQ to get?
Hey there! The only other free EQ that I use and recommend is LRC5 and LRC7. Dynamic? Not that I know of. ua-cam.com/video/cVLgTYSIYYs/v-deo.htmlsi=5HE7_7jOfK2sciCg
Thanks Pete I’m getting this eq thing finally down..especially learning to cut bass frequencies out of tracks that don’t belong.. but for the LRC5 are the 3 frequencie knobs in the middle all mids?..
Yeah, it really depends on your definition of bass, mids and treble. Some of the EQ cheat sheets like this one can help - images.app.goo.gl/iWM4cxb8ND4dR8YU9
Hi, Great Channel! I used some of those apple loops then went to record my own guitar with it. But it stops right in the beginning? not sure if doesn't allow you to record with it. Any advice Thanks
So, it’s generally up there in the higher frequencies, so an EQ cut can help, or try a de-easer as it’s often similar to the sibilance in vocals. ua-cam.com/video/WizlqIjmfDI/v-deo.html
If a song has a piano, drums, and vocals, at what frequencies should I cut the piano, drums, and vocals? I'm going to watching tons of your EQ videos. 😀
Yeah, it's something that I cover in a couple of videos but really need to make a new video explaining just this. Check this one out for now - ua-cam.com/video/hZTcJVBJgyo/v-deo.html
Anyone here know how to EQ a track live and capture/record that live EQ-ing on the track for export. I have a track that the first 30 seconds I want to cut the mids and then bring them back in.
Unfortunately GarageBand iOS doesn’t have great automation options so this is not really possible. You can use the FX filter option. ua-cam.com/video/0jGjGfd3MA0/v-deo.html Logic Pro for iPad has a lot better automation options. logicipad.com/
I have an ipad pro with ios 15 but my garage band only has two plugins, visual eq and compression. Nothing else is listed. I don't have a vocal track on any of my songs. Is that why?

3:48 Actually if u click where it says Analyzer on the bottom left corner of the grid the wavelength will be on screen and no guesswork will be needed
Yup. True that. I tend to not use it, but I should probably make a video about it.
Omfg - this was the best EQ video I ever saw about anything from Apple and thanks 🙏🏼 for the cool sounding sounds

Great Channel! I used some of those apple loops then went to record my own guitar with it.
But it stops right in the beginning? not sure if doesn't allow you to record with it.
Any advice

That's really odd? It should work find for you. Check out some of my Apple Loops videos here - studiolivetoday.com/garageband
1. Do you EQ each individual track?
2. Do you EQ again when you master?
Sorry, but the answer to both is “sometimes”.
Thank you Pete, very helpful…

Hello sir,,how to layer in garageband piano and strings or brass and strings etc.😊
Hey there. I have a heap of GarageBand tutorials about multi-tracking and mixing over on my GarageBand FAQ web page - studiolivetoday.com/garageband
Any advice on how to remove the abrasive sound of fingers sliding on the acoustic guitar?

that vocal track is creepy in a good way. Like an intro to a Korn song.
Haha! Thanks my friend. I can’t even remember what song I used for this one? 😀🤘
Lol kosher. Great explanation 👍🏽

Depends on what notes are being played generally. Maybe ask colorectal some videos or articles about the frequency range of different instruments.
@@PeteJohnsMusic okay thanks!

I love your tutorials and explanations on your channel. But I didn’t find any answer to my question “What exactly does the Effect-eq do?”
Yeah, it's something that I cover in a couple of videos but really need to make a new video explaining just this. Check this one out for now - ua-cam.com/video/hZTcJVBJgyo/v-deo.html
So volume knobs for 3 three different frequencies....I want 4 please !
Yup, as I show in the video you can use LRC5 which has, not surprisingly, 5!!

That’s super odd?! Maybe need to update iOS or GarageBand?
