Thanks for this. Man, I am trying to fix one of my Dad's outdoor ones atm. It is about 20 years old and linked back to an alarm. In the end, the case disintegrated and it was sitting out in the wet for ages. It is full of opamps. I can't figure out all the wiring lol. the main part still seems to work. It is all the override and dusk sensor wires I can't figure out!

the sensors is called a pyroelectric detector. also I have a huge collection of PIRs
on my channel

Mine makes a soft click when you walk past it, is this normal?

Yes, that's normal! There's often a relay inside these and you can hear it click when it detects.
