It is just more helpful to know what length, power and action is recommended. Megabass rods are the worst since they don’t use the standard medium heavy fast action rating.
Switched to chatterspike for my trailer and the chatterbait has quickly become a confidence bait for me. I really wish I could find a smaller version of it. With a smaller trailer.

Equipment nothing here, zebco kids combo top line😂🤣, seriously tho we have crap to fish fresh water, most max depth 9 feet, some 14. Not everyone has jig rod, flipping rod, glass rod.. we lucky to have a bass pro combo.. Walmarts, dicks.. here sell almost nothing, even in RI mall lol, sad but true.. sucks
You can ask 1000 Bass Anglers what the "Best" type of lure / bait for a certain situation or whatever, and you will get 1000 different answers. You professional Anglers turn A LOT of anglers off of Bass Fishing, because your pros have it ingrained in people minds that Bass fishing is hard and that they HAVE to have this or that type of rod set up, or, I have to do this because one guy in the 1000000000 Bass channels said it works. My rods are ALL 7'3 Medium / Heavy / Fast Action, and I've NEVER had a problem landing fish in any type of situation or condition

Too many variables to give one solution. Use thinner mono - more flex. Add fat leader if you must. Use braid and cast a lot further, but pick a medium fast rod. etc. And the reel is pretty much irrelevant. Whatever you prefer. Above 100$ it's diminishing returns. Above 200$ even worse. Going down to inches for rod size - overkill. Depends on material, casters size and use case. Small boat, thick vegetation on a river, etc. Go by the feel when shopping. In store. You will see how it bends in your hands, how it sounds. Longer rods spread the force over longer distances so they can feel softer. Variables...

I picked up a bass pro Carbonlite technique bladed jig rod. I haven’t had a chance to fish it yet but I believe it is a good budget option. Maybe take a look at it. And yes, do the series. Excellent information in these types of videos.
I have been using a 7'3 mh fast but with 14# mono. I like the stiffer rod because I feel like I can rip it from grass better. Great video, I like this type of stuff
I have yet to catch a fish on a chatterbait. Been throwing them more lately trying to catch fish and gain confidence in them. I’m throwing them on a graphite/carbon medium/heavy fast on braid though. May have to change rods and line so maybe I can land them if I ever get a bite. 🤣🤣🤣

I had a big catfish break my medium moderate action rod i use for chatterbaits, i hooked up on so many bass using chatterbaits with that rod. Now that Im using a medium heavy fast action tip rod it seems my hook up ratio has went down dramatically and im losing a lot of bass. Maybe I'm yanking the lure out of their mouths with that fast tip?
Id love to see more of these videos! I mainly want to see the frog setup. And hiw to set the hook on a frog. I cant hardly ever get a big bass in the boat on a frog bite. Ill wait a few seconds to set the hook and then set the hook as hard as i can and they still come off. What am i doing wrong. Im using a 7'3 heavy action rod for frog fishing. I feel like that should be good enough.
I love seeing videos like this it helps give me an idea of what equipment to use with what lures as a guy newer to bass fishing and not having to many combos gives me an idea of what to look for

Yes keep these coming. That being said I’m 70 years old and my reaction time is now slower. So I still use a fast tip.

It’s a Brett Hite signature series rod. He’s known to be a chatter bait guru.
Brett Hite uses Evergreen rods and has rods he’s designed just for the Jackhammer. He helped design the Jackhammer also.
