Her audiobook is here for free and you hear her talking about all the things she spoke about with David and you realize it may have been she that actually educated him and caused him to really grow and become the entertainer he was in the early days and first few years of some of his greatest successes . I just got done listening to the one here for free I think it was called backstage pass and I really do believe everything she wrote in the book and everything she says . A lot of it made me sad and I believe he knew he screwed her over in the end and was harsh towards her especially with the gag order where she was not allowed to talk about or write about their relationship for 10 years afterwards . I really do believe that she did all the things she said she did to help his career and I really do believe she made a massive difference where where it not for her being so organized and having the know how with marketing and with people that he might never have made it to that status early on and maybe would have sort of missed the boat as they call it
Also I think the strangest part of the book is when she talks about being at their friend's house in LA with the storm outside his window ... well it won't make sense now but when you hear it , it'll be kind of strange . I think the woman did way too much for him looking back ... she was his mother his lover his cook his confidant , his manager , his organizer ... she did everything for him and got very little back in return ... very very little . I also believe her when she talks about the time he choked her . As much as I love David Bowie I do believe he was as clever and smart as she says he was and charming ... he was extremely ambitious and I do believe he was a bit of a social climber and used people yes I do believe that as much as I really admire him I did hear things about him being a user .

Welcome to the dystopian, cocaine fuelled world of David Bowie aka The Thin White Duke! Angie Bowie was airbrushed completely from David's life & anyone who mentioned her became persona non grata. Ironically, as David descended into the mire of drugs, sex & alcohol Angie began to seek a world of greater normality. By then David was living a hedonistic & addictive parallel life. It became almost impossible to gain access to her husband who would indulge in drug fuelled sex with men or women in hotel bedrooms. Lori Mattix & friends have some interesting memories from that time! Not good PR & never mentioned. Bowie's security would prevent Angie from entering David's hotel room during these sessions...I'm sure that hurt to the core! Bowie once told Gail Ann Dorsey that he was glad she never knew him during those days, he said he was not a nice person. Angie may not have been a saint but the fact that she has been damned since 1980 is grossly unfair! I never saw an interview with Angie Bowie before. She was rather unsettling. I can kind of see how she would have worked as a good partner for David in those relatively early years, but she does not seem like she had what it took to be a public personality on her own, although I guess she did want to be one.
From spending 10 years in Britain. People disrespect her - she was on UK CBB - and she was cool and she was decent - can you imagine being dumped by the person you love just as they become famous? Angie is great. And David wouldnt have it said any other way.
Wow I love this, and the interview, I am 63 years old and I most likely will take LSD and Heroin again !!! so I can comprehend this whole interview. What happened ? What a load of bullshit.
There has to be a film called How do you live with a girl like Angie?. I find her impossible to like and very self obsessed, she may have been great for Bowie to feed off of but must have been impossible to live with too, it feels like she never turns off and that is an awful character trait but that is me, others may find her charming.
There's no such last name as Bowie. It was David's stage name only. It was not a legal name. So her taking the name in the first place was fake. After their divorce it was even more idiotic.
@@pisospicados3337 no it wasn't. He was David Jones legally. He signed legal documents as Jones. Bowie was simply a name he chose like some writers do for whatever reason that they only use professionally. In David's case he never changed it. What an awful interview! The interviewer seems not to know anything at all about Angela or about David. Also, he doesn’t hide the fact that he is not interested in her, but wants the dirt on David. Also Angela seems out of it, either on drugs, or simply disinterested and not focused.

She is speaking with a fake English accent. How Bizarre!
I did notice as well, you think she fakes it ??.or she is out of order a bit ??
It sounds kind of natural, but I also watched a video of her being interviewed about David Bowie's success, etc. And she didn't sound English at all.
I know! Later on, she dropped the accent
What the matter with her accent, she's free to talk the way she wants.
Why the hell is she speaking with an English accent here?
Because she is smug and pompous
The gay man in this died a couple of days after I was born. August 92. Must have been aids. Lost so many great gay men in the mid 80s to mid 90s. 🥺
This is from 1988
I never saw an interview with Angie Bowie before. She was rather unsettling. I can kind of see how she would have worked as a good partner for David in those relatively early years, but she does not seem like she had what it took to be a public personality on her own, although I guess she did want to be one.
He asked her where she was from at exact moment that I was wondering "Where is this fake British accent coming from?".
From spending 10 years in Britain. People disrespect her - she was on UK CBB - and she was cool and she was decent - can you imagine being dumped by the person you love just as they become famous? Angie is great. And David wouldnt have it said any other way.
Linda McCartney, too. Though that might have been more of a patrician "boarding school" accent
@@MARSBELLA1 Unhappily it happen so often when a guy became famous, almost in those days.
Wow I love this, and the interview, I am 63 years old and I most likely will take LSD and Heroin again !!! so I can comprehend this whole interview. What happened ? What a load of bullshit.
drugs make you look old she's 66 now looks86
I despise the way she treated her own son. Heartless.
Thank God she has toned down the pretentiousness in later interviews.
Angela could have played Gozer in Ghostbusters
Such an English sounding accent. Today she is full on USA. I live Angie but her accent in tbe clip is do fake.
l didn't know she'd been a member of the Royal family
Wonder why her son takes nothing to do with her.
didnt know ken barlow was really a yank
Yes and a complete prick too
I didn't know Angie Bowie was an English rock star??
She was born in Cyprus
She has an American accent 😂 must have put this on 😂
Her eyes are all over the place so I think she's manic or bipolar something going on
What year was this filmed?
Was she ever young?
She was very beautiful and still is with this interview. 🐝
There has to be a film called How do you live with a girl like Angie?. I find her impossible to like and very self obsessed, she may have been great for Bowie to feed off of but must have been impossible to live with too, it feels like she never turns off and that is an awful character trait but that is me, others may find her charming.
She's out of it
There's no such last name as Bowie. It was David's stage name only. It was not a legal name. So her taking the name in the first place was fake. After their divorce it was even more idiotic.
No, he literally change it, he doesn't born with it but it's his legal name since the late 60's I think
@@pisospicados3337 no it wasn't. He was David Jones legally. He signed legal documents as Jones. Bowie was simply a name he chose like some writers do for whatever reason that they only use professionally. In David's case he never changed it. That's why his daughter is Lexi Jones and his son is Duncan Jones.
Angie Or is it Andrew.
this old queen has no clue who she is oh boy was that singing or a breakdown
Behind every man ..
Is there any blood left in her drugs?
What an awful interview! The interviewer seems not to know anything at all about Angela or about David. Also, he doesn’t hide the fact that he is not interested in her, but wants the dirt on David. Also Angela seems out of it, either on drugs, or simply disinterested and not focused.
The interviewer is more odd than she is!
She's not English. Why is she speaking like that?
They are aware that men acted the women's parts in Shakespeare plays back then because women weren't allowed, right? Which is the opposite of progressive?
Don't do drugs.
Onyetbiewer is a bit of C.
She is American
I'm sure here Angie is stoned, just a guess.
Her accent suddenly changes to usa twang
🤢🤢🤢
Cringey-no?
She is fabulous looking for her age! She is what 29?
