- I continue on my adventure of the Mogollon Rim Trail and honestly, only a small portion of it is epic and the rest is horrible.

The views never get boring!!!
Another great video Matt. You do a great job picking the right music to go along with the incredible views.
Thanks 👍
This was the best video you've posted in a long time. You kept us on the edge of our seats!
My husband and I wheel together, and we love videos with you two together!
If you listen closely around 27:55 you can hear one of the horses say: "It's getting too people-y out here. Let's go"
😂😂
I was just up there on the Rim on Wednesday night. Camped at a spot that wasn't too far from where you were (a spot I located from an older @venture4wd video) and then did the whole rim road on Thursday heading east. Loved just about every second of it, though the road quality changed a bit crossing from Coconino NF to Apache Sitgreaves NF with lots of washboard. Definitely want to go up there again and do some more exploring. Tried to do a back way trail to Knoll Lake and there wasn't actually any views of the lake which was disappointing. 😄
Love it up there! We call it the “MUG EE ON” RIM
Actually the MOE GEE ON 😜
"They should just shut it down" had me 😂
Sorry I missed you guys at the Overland Expo PNW. I did get a picture of your Gladiator though. Thanks for the adventure videos. 👏
We stayed a night up there in early October a few years back. Looking forward to going back again!
I had a flash back of Rose saying "come back, come back". 😂
I’ve always meant to travel the Rim Road but Life intervened. Thanks for the video ! I’ll hopefully be roaming around there soon !
I love your breakfast of champions 😂 choices after my own heart ❤. How were those pop tarts 😉
So yummy. 😂
Hi Matt, really liked the video. Thank you for sharing!🚙
You are very entertaining. You even made the suck trail fun. Sounds like we will get to see the New Gladiator and canopy camper soon.
Thank you. Yes you will.
LOL... Great video Matt!!
Thanks!
Thanks for another great video. Looking forward to Oregon and Utah!!
starting next week!!
Mogollon monster territory. Have you ever heard about the legend?
Never heard of it.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures ua-cam.com/video/drLTEe-YCUo/v-deo.htmlsi=o2gVuPIb8BTwbo-0. Now you have.
Wow, reminds me a lot like the Gila National Forest. Very cool
It’s been five years since I’ve been there. Saw you picture a while back you posted, we did that trail after my wife’s uncle’s wake over in Kingman. We spent a week doing Moss Wash, this one and down in the Tucson area.
Absolutely beautiful! Your pups don't know how lucky they are to have you as their dad.
Pro4xexpeditions, I believe is correct about the pronunciation. I would have spelled it phonetically as "muggy on" or "muggy un" but that's because I live at an elevation above 6,000 ft and persistent oxygen starvation can do funny things. At least, that's what my wife tells me.
Life is good at altitude! :))
Fantastic drone footage
Thanks!!
"Can I pet that dog!?" 😂😂
It was great meeting you guys at the PNW expo!
Been driving FR300 for about 28 years now and recognized everywhere you went. Lots of amazing views of God's creation along the way with the dramatic 2,500' elevation dropoffs below, looking out over more pine trees than you can count. You stopped at General Springs Cabin, hope you also saw the Battle of Big Dry Wash Monument and took time to visit Knoll Lake. The Altar campfire pit was built up with rocks to block the winds coming in from the rim. You'll find other campfire rings on the rim built the same way. And, you're correct, the Coconino portion has a lot more to offer than the Sitgreaves portion. But, it's there for everyone to decide for themselves. Others have already mentioned pronunciatiation - it's "Mug-E-On" and not "Mog-E-On". Anyway, hope you enjoyed Arizona, and if you need anything when you come back, I'm in Phoenix and close by. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
We saw wild horses on our Utah BDR trip. They akso looked very pettable. LOL Northern Arizona is amazing. Hope to get down there one day. Lived in Scottsdale for 15+ years and NEVER saw the Grand Canyon or any of Northern AZ.
Love the views!
Planning a trip out to the Grand Canyon. When will your waypoints for Arizona be up?
I drove the rim about 20 years ago in a VW Jetta and my memories are roughly similar.
Hi Matt! So good to see you explore my home State! All of it is familiar to me so I feel like I'm actually with you. Pretty cool... and not creepy at all... LOL! Bugs that bit you: I'll lay odds on "NoSeeums" Hahaha! Look them up! They are a thing. They are in my opinion worse than mosquito bites... Arizona is Full of Things that bite, poke, sting... and as others have pointed out, hard to pronounce! I got in the habit of carrying Apples and carrots with me when I'm going to be in certain areas with Burros and Horses, but it looks like you are done with Arizona, so... yeah... A little late on that... See you next time! Bill
Matt quick question, I notice you have an awning, but I rarely see you use it. Is there any reason you usually don't set it up. Thank you for the video and also if you answer the question
I use it when it's hot and I need shade or when it's raining. On beautiful days like this one, I don't need it.
The double LL in the word is given a spanish pronunciation, "why" rather than "el"
Were you walking in any tall grass or scrub. Chiggers (aka deer mites) can get you. Learned the hard way in the Jersey Pine Barrens.
1-2 years later of watching your content and it has only now occurred to me that I’m not subscribed to your channel 😅
lol. Thanks for fixing that.
Was this trip before PNW?
Yes. This is the last vid in the Arizona series. PNW starts next week.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thank you. My daughter just moved to Mesa, so was hoping to visit her then head north to get some relief from the heat in Dallas.
omg!! how can you drive with all those cameras etc in front of you blocking your sight? 😊
Haaa.... I thought the same thing. I sat in a Jeep and was like, "nope, windshield is too small" I see Matt's view and chuckle.
Pretty well actually. 😂
That's a stone cairn, man. Someone's buried under there!
You know you're doing well when you're buying specialty mustards.
Hit 100,000 on Sully yet? He's been an awesome truck!
Yesterday!!
at least their is some green their😂😂😂
Mogollon (Moh-Gee_on).
Actually.... It's either Muggy-on or Muggy-own. That's how I've always heard it; plus just two weeks ago I read an Arizona Republic article, from 2016, in which the states' official historian said those are the correct pronunciations.
Oh... that's what he was saying..
Seen you in red bluff ca yesterday. Lol. You we tbftom hot to hotter. Lol
It was stupid hot there!!!!
as a Arizona citizen it is pronounced-- Mug-e-on Rim! just so you know
Yeah that's not how it's spelled. LOLOL
Mogollon (Mug -eh-on) You are correct there are amazing views and boring fire roads. Hopefully folks hate bumpy roads and find better places than my backyard.
Arizona has chiggers!
Or maybe Bandit from Jonny quest.
You know you shouldn't be messing with animals in the wild, right?
Wild horses will actually try and kill you. That made me nervous.
You should see what I do when I see a bear. 😂😂 I love all the animals.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures I do, too, but you should always leave wild animals alone.
@@jk_wrangler13I like to eat them there tasty I like to play hide and seek with the bears 😢
Locals pronounce it “muggy-yon,” go figure. Sweet shots! Miss that amazing place.
It's an Arizona thing. They even pronounce Prescott as "Press-kit". I've lived here since '98 and even I don't go for the whacky names. 😆
You're smack dab in my summertime stompin grounds..heading up next week for 2-3 nights..glad you're enjoying AZ!
OMG, I know that feeling. "Just get me off this trail!!" Never thought I'd love to see a paved road. 😂
Thanks Matt. Fun to ride along as always. ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
p.s. slow down you aint on a freeway!!
Ok Mom. LOL
i wished i new you were going to do this trip i could have shown you around ,, like confederate soldiers graves that were killed by apaches, the first forestry cabin in AZ the underground railroad i live up here and have been running these trails for alot of years,, i opend pyatte draw outside of payson in 2004 be safe in your travels TC JEEP NAME TC'S TOY
Pronounced "Mogoyon"
They should spell it like that. 😂
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceratopogonidae
This is what was biting you in the forest! We used to get eaten alive by them up there.
