      Same. I'm from Scotland and I've thought it was weird that Scotland has so much of it's own media and institutions but Wales produces nothing at all of any note.

      A lot of it does depends on genetics and muscle mass. Some people store fat differently, and where you store it is down to genetics. However, if you don't have a lot of muscle mass, you can look pretty "skinny fat" at lower body fat percentages due to muscle not filling up those areas of your body.

    • @jclaakso7945
      @jclaakso7945 6 років тому +42

      the thing is though, he's not "skinny fat". He looks like has a decent amount of muscles (arms, traps, shoulders) and if he were in fact 12%, he would look pretty good. He's not in bad shape in the beginning, but no way that we has at 12%

So imagine the perseverance required to go through the season. The body has to cope and recover from the daily workouts and game days. Geez....

    Thanks for sharing your experience.
    This hernia will be a reminder for proper periodization / execution of the exercise program in the future.
    Not all bodily tissues are able to withstand strain and recover from it following a similar timeline.
    It will hopefully heal, not become sequestered, but unless surgically taken care of, it'll keep on being a weak spot in your abdomen.
    Exercise is life, it is therapeutic and can also be detrimental. It all depends on how it is approached.
    Be well 👍

      Looks like they didn't even measure his body fat directly, they only estimated it based on his physical measurements, which is very inaccurate. To measure accurately you need a DEXA scan which uses lower energy x-rays to directly measure body composition. Or to do hydrostatic weighing, which requires the body to be submerged to measure body density. Or an MRI imaging. I didn't see any of that in the segment. They're probably off by as much as 5-6%.

Also, the contrast in the after photo has been increased in Photoshop or other software to exaggerate muscle definition. The after photo is sharper to show chiselled muscles

    Absurd. I'm not at all surprised that he got injured. Pro rugby players have been training hard for years, often since they were children. A random guy with an office job cannot reach the same level of fitness in only 6 weeks.

    You have to remember that a full time job is stressful in itself. Job stress + exercise stress == too much stress.

    the thing is professional athletes bodies don't break down on them after 8 weeks. you have to do these types of routines for years to reach pro level...of course all athlete's bodies fail them in the end .

    That's why it's 1 day on 1 day off always go 100% but you need to learn you don't grow in the gym

    Class idea for a video, but more actual rugby training to expose your body to the bangs and bumps I think would have benefitted the narrative and given a more 'fun' spin on things.
    If you want to consult me on future projects or take me on as a creative producer then contact me through my email. I'm local too so that should help.

    The only supplement that helps you recover faster if you have a good diet is testosterone. Anything else is placebo effect.

      creatine monohydrate aids in that as well

      Do you what the definition? Or that the tester thought the supplements significantly aided in recovery? His gains and body fat loses are normal with his change of diet and excercise route.

    • @mramazingtroy
      @mramazingtroy 6 років тому

      Jamie's Millers A Knob creatine monohydrate may work but I wouldn't use it. Look at when it came out and how many NZ rugby players had kidney issues after taking it.

      A placebo can raise testosterone. Studies show that changes to your psychology can boost testosterone.
