    I just want to commend the fact that you guys did all this work for a vehicle that didn't even need this part replaced. That's commitment to your audience. Kudos

    Sorry for bad English: What was the quit piece called to disconnect the transmission lines?
    Around 3:00 min

    OK guys, putting you to the test, ordered the new radiator (from y'all) which was easy peasy. Now gonna sit with my phone and sit in front of the Explorer... procrastinate as long as I can then spend about 4x as much time knuckle busting to get it done... Wish me luck!

    So every video I've seen has showed you have to take the fan blade off. So glad I stumbled on this video!!! Here's to hoping I can get this job done today!!

    The whole process was actually much easier than it looks with two notable exceptions. First and Most Major, the quick connect transmission lines are a SOB to get off. The key I finally found was to find something to keep the tool pushed into the release while pulling on the lines. Once I finally got those out (took be about 3 hours and a trip to the auto parts store for a different tool), the rest was very straight forward right along with the video. The second thing that threw me a large curve was the final steps of the re-install of the new radiator. The new radiator came with new clip on nuts. The problem was that the two that go on the outside top of the radiator to hold the brackets to the radiator were NOT the right size for the bolts on my truck. This had me all confused for a bit trying to figure out why I had two bolts that would not fit anywhere. Once I grabbed the old clip on nuts from the old radiator it all went back easy. I hope to never have to do this again, but I think if I had to do it again it would go much smoother.
    Thank you for an AWESOME video.

    Very helpful vid! Threw me a little that you took off the side bracket bolts on top. Made me think I could slip out the actual radiator and leave the brackets in. Also on my 2010 4.6L there was a protective spoiler mounted to the bottom of the radiator with the hardest to remove push on plastic locks.

    Do you have a video on adding fluid to the transmission? It seems straight forward but was just curious, thanks! This video helped me knock out this repair last weekend!

    • @mr.boostang2064
      @mr.boostang2064 3 роки тому

      Its actually very easy, just unplug the 19mm (I think) plug and pump new atf with a hand pump from the bottle to the transmission. Pump until fluid starts to come out, then you have to start the truck up (leave it in park) get under the truck again, check the level with the dip stick and add more fluid until the fluid shows up on the hash marking. Plug it back up and drive it around for 15min with some speeds of 50mph then come back and while still ON and in Park check the level again, it should still be on the hash mark if not then add or remove as needed.
      Tricky part is doing this while the truck is ON because the hot cat is so close to your hand so be careful. I've done this procedure multiple times already and it's too easy now lol. Also 6r60s love fresh fluid so add a drain plug and drain and refill every 30k miles

    I have replaced several of these in the past. I have always had to remove the condenser with the radiator then split them on the bench. Doing one today And thought I would find a secret. I simply cannot get it out so I removed the refrigerant and will pull the rad and condenser as a unit.

    Do you need to add trans fluid after this?

    • @walesbanks3204

      It depends on how much fluid you loose when you disconnect the cooler lines to the trans
