Yet another fun month of buying and selling drums. Nothing too crazy, but I did sell off some random stuff that was getting in the way on. No matter how much little stuff I get rid of I still never have enough space...

Big White plastic screw is used in cymbals packs boxes. To keep all cymbals together
@6:33 that's a Pearl adjustable beater weight. It sucks bc the diameter is a bit large for most beaters. So it rattles a lot. And the movable parts tend to rattle a lot too (in spite of the rubber parts designed to prevent that) so the whole purpose of it being adjustable in weight without removing the beater is totally ruined. It's a shit show. Just use one or two ordinary beater weights.
Well crap, I should have kept watching before writing all that. But yeah, it sucks.
Do you answer Instagram dms
I ‘suffer’ from the same malady as yerself!🤣
Its always a good day when David posts
I agree
Me too
U keep on commenting that
But I agree
David: you do the math
Also David: *does the math for you
6:32 The white plastic thing is a nut to keep your cymbals together in a cymbal bag. You can put those soft pan protectors between your cymbals so you don’t make any scratches.
Can’t wait for the virtual high five 😂
✋ thats all you get
Yay thanks hahaha
Came here to comment the same thing. They're nylon btw. Pretty tough plastic.
@@rdavidr what truck do you drive and what year
The red silver and black mystery thing is a pearl beater weight.
I love selling off stuff... its therapy for my Gear Acquisition Syndrome...
Oh boy gotta make space for a whole stack of broken b8 cymbals 😂
@@jangobango2847 only when there is shelf space.... ;)
Q: How does a musician make money?
A: By selling all his gear.
Related joke:
Q: What's the definition of a musician?
A: Someone who puts $5,000 worth of gear into a $500 car and drives 100 miles to play a $50 gig.
I would like to pay 1 dollar to watch this funny show
Imagine watching rdavidr videos and then getting a notification for another rdavidr video
3:39 that made me suddenly hungry. i just ate some chicken but it made me want more.6:45 not sure but the white plastic thing looks like what cymbal companies will use to keep cymbal sets secured together during shipping. had something like that on the last cymbal set i bought. sabian btw.
6:28 looks like it's a bolt from a new cymbal set that you buy. There is this bolt that holds the cymbal set when you buy a set.
Thats right
✋
I see that now lol. At first glance I thought it was a screw for a toilet seat lol
Awesome vid! I love random drum set parts 🙂 The white plastic bolt and nut is from a box set of cymbals but I use the one I have to keep my hats together while they are in my cymbal bag.
✋
The weird cymbal felt thing is used to help movement of the cymbal on the stand. They’re really helpful actually
The little white plastic nut/bolt is to hold cymbals together that come in a box set. I’ve opened a bunch of Tama Imperialstar full kits that come with a set of Meinl HCS cymbals and they have that white bolt holding them together
✋
The white plastic nut and bolt is from a cymbal pack, it goes through all of the cymbals and holds them together in the box
You know the main thing that sucks about living in a small town is there isn't many other musicians around to buy second hand stuff from, so I almost always have to buy new, online without being able to try it out. I'd have so much stuff if I had the ability to buy second hand.
The "weird fancy cymbal felt thingy" is actually just that. I used to have those on a set of Pearls I once owned. The cymbal would rest on it and there would be a separate sleeve between the cymbal and stand. So, here's my virtual high-five back atcha'. 🤚🏼
Awesome videos concept! I fucking like this please keep doing more this type of videos
Damn the deals you get are pretty sick. Here in India it’s hard to find decent sticks, cymbals, heads and good like getting them at less then a 50% markup... I was born and lived in the us (Illinois) for a while but had to move...
I really love all this gear talk. I understand everything you talk about because drums are right up my alley. I just wish I had stuff to sell but my gear is limited beyond my actual drum set. And I would hate to have a box of Bojangles fried chicken with no Fried Chicken in it LOL. And just remember you can never have enough cowbell.
The video you made a while back showing all your bells was the video that introduced me to your channel , been a subscriber since
Love the vid mate, keep up the fun content. Hi from Australia
Back again man for the great vids👍
That plastic nut/bolt set is probably from a cymbal pack. They are actually toilet seat bolts, but being plastic it’s safer than a metal bolt when holding cymbals together in
shipping
✋
The plastic white screw is the screw that holds together cymbals in the cymbal pack boxes. Keeps the cymbals safely fashioned together to prevent and unnecessary banging around.
I’m pretty sure that the two bass drum hoops come from the previous version of a Yamaha rydeen.. an entry level kit but those hoops make that set look much sexier
The white thing looks like what would hold cymbals together when you buy a box set
Awesome video, love seeing that notification you got a new video out!
6:45 the white screw-type plastic thing is a duo cymbal holder. It is used to hold two cymbals together so they don't move around in the box when it's shipping
I love your passion my brother 🤟🖤
And I thought I had a lot of 'drum stuff'! I've got a whole bedroom in my house full of drums, cymbals, and related gear, plus a kit permanently set up in my living room as a practice kit (I live alone so nobody to complain about the decor), plus my old studio at my daughter's house full of gear too. And two kits set up at the two churches I play at. Can you say 'drumitis'? The herd's going to get thinned out soon so I too will be selling off some good stuff soon. The hard part is deciding what to part with. Decisions decisions.
Freaking love these videos man.
The White thing comes with a cymbal set to stack them together for transport
The white nylon screw thing is what keeps the cymbals together in the box when you buy a cymbal pack
That Ludwig classic snare is sweet…SWEET!!!
"This is more fancy... Uhhhh fancy“ just killed me
@ 5:39... that lower half (with rubber cups) is the DW cymbal clamp. I have this exact one.
The lugs on the LaBoz drums look exactly like Star ones (= Tama before they called themselves 'Tama').
I've got the same cheap lil 10" splash too. I got mine with an old kids drum set off the side of the road
On 6:30 you've got a "cymbal pack holder" (to make a hats, crash and ride sandwich) Buena onda 👍
The white screw is to hold cymbals together. My meinl hcs set from middle school came with that exact one.
you should do some videos about that Squier bass, it's really nice.
Yeah. Wood and weather drums is in Indian orchard/Springfield Ma. My home town!
The quick release hi hat clutch is a Gibraltar, I have the same one
The plastic nut is for cymbal packs. I used to work at an online drum store and they came in some cymbal packs
Tama owns Gibraltar, dude
That first thing that you don’t know what is.... is a screw to tight all your cymbal. Usually comes with new packed cymbal sets
The plastic bolt is for holding cymbals together when moving gig to gig i use them a lot before covid 🥁🥁🥁🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
The white nylon and bolt is for packaging cymbals together. Usually used by Pearl for their pearl cymbals in the Forum series. And yes the weird alien ship looking thing is a rubber cymbal felt. Can't remember the brand though
the plastic screw is for cymbals which came in packages for sale.
literally 5 minutes ago I was praying for a video
Loooove thes vids!
Keep the cool lugs and put the classic made in Japan's on the 12 and add it to the orphan kit with a new wrap. You could probably get some good money for it.
Can you make a Video about different drumsetups?😁
The white plastic screw is from a new cymbal set to hold the cymbals together for packaging;)
I don’t know how you sold some gear, I can’t even sell my tama metalworks black nickel steel snare.
Go dude!!! ✌ 😎
I'd love to buy the Blue kit you showed off.
the pearl red and black pedal thingy at 6:38 is a memory lock for a bass drum beater
oh I just saw you figured it out
If that nylon nut/bolt is the right diameter, use it to screw your cymbals together in your bag. I've used a nylon toilet seat bolt for this purpose for years.
The little rubber felt/washer could be ancient Ludwig? One came with a very old Ludwig flat-base stand I once had, and it's still in my parts box. Great for a splash.
The fancy hihat clutch (Quick re-leas) is from Gibraltar 5:58
These videos are best
those tube lugs look like they might be from a Mapex Mars kit
Great upload. I have a Ruether kit that matches that bass drum you have. Pretty sure it is actually made in Tawian. Sounds great though!
Made my first proper drum find, a full 5 piece Dixon Fuse Ltd for 30$ in 7/10 condition
The tube lug might be a mapex armory snare lug.
Sad that i live in The Netherlands.. i'm really loving buying random gear and experimenting with sounds.
I only play acoustic when i'm with my band, and... They don't really like me being busy making my own trashy cymbal stacks mounted to a hihat stand...
White "thing" looks like it came in a sabian cymbal set to keep them together in the box during shipping
I think the White plastic nut and bolt come on a new set of cymbals. One of those came on my sabían cymbal set.
6:30 i got a sabian cymbal pack once and they were held together in the box with that plastic nut thing
So I finally learned that if I buy something that is shipped in the size box I need I don't have to look for or keep boxes !
6:28 - screw for fixing the toilet seat!
THE JMU BO BOX!!! GO DUKES!!!
That plastic bolt is used to transport cymbal pack.
It's all good
Orphan kit!!!
6:47 I think the white nit and bolt came from a cymbal set box. I have a meinl cymbal set and it had a nut and bolt which looked very similar to that one holding them in place in the box. I don't know why someone would would remove it from the box though.
The white nylon nut and bolt used to come with some cymbal kits (HH, crash and ride zbt for example) so that you could screw them together and wouldn't move in your gig bag. Bad idea imho.
Stuck in a fishing add right now and ironically it froze on a drum fish
Bo Jangles' fried chicken is the best fried chicken in the --ok, I've never heard of Bo Jangles fried chicken 🍗
You’re missing out. Bonjangles is mouthwatering.
The white plastic thing is a screw to secure chimbal set in the box
Those Remo bass drum muffles make GREAT snare muffles if you really need to kill a drum.
@rdavidr Just ordered a Ludwig Classic Maple pro beat shell pack. Already using a copperphonic, if you decide to sell that snare though, I’d definitely be interested. It would match the finish I’m getting 🤷🏻♂️
American Pickers. The bearded charmer!
Hey rdavidr Could you do a cymbal experiment where you take an entry-level to intermediate cymbal, hand hammer it, and see how it sounds. Like what Dafnis Prieto did to a Sabian b8 crash.
that white thing comes with cheap cymbals packs, holding the cymbals together.
the fat tone hoop is a blatant copy of the Gretsch 302. probably the best hoop you can find on the market. acts like a die cast but feels like a flanged hoop. which basically leave the drum tone and you still get the benefit of a stronger hoop concerning tuning and stability.
The plastic “nut and bolt” are probably from someone who bought a cymbal pack. I know years ago a pack of Sabian cymbals I had came with one holding them all together.
Cool
6:29 это для соединения комплекта тарелок для переноски в чехле с одни отделением
"Uuh fancyy"
Hey! I'm looking for a 8" and a 10" tom to add on to my kit, don't mind the condition or color, I'm trying to keep it under $200 for both. Any chance you have a good line on something I might be able to use?
Hey, curious: do you happen to have blue sparkle Silvertone shells? My big brother bought me this as ,y first kit and he passed recently. Trying to rebuild one.
Tube lug looks like an old mapex quad lug
You don't happen to have any cup washers for a 70s ludwig laying around?
how do u sell so much stuff? i cant even sell a drum kit let alone like 2 pedal weights and a singular used 8 inch head. plz tell me your strategy!
Would you send those tube lugs to Australia ?
Starting of the video
Country David be like...
Bro you got JMU bojangles, are you based near Harrisonburg???
My dude
Can you help me I am in India I want drum shall skin i want to change black other colour . I have seen in your video where form I can get ?
