Just a little info on the Ford FT engines. One of the reasons folks like the 390 FT is that it has a forged steel crank instead of the cast ones in 390 FE blocks.
Love the Frazer you got in . I know, I know. Wall art. Try to restrain yourself for a while. Maybe you can sell it. And the Hillman. Great little car . Great video as always.
1955 Ford car : round front turn signal lens and round radio and round heater controls on the dashboard. Last year for 6 volt battery. 1956 Ford car : front turn signal lens is an elongated shape. Dashboard items like the radio have a normal rectangular appearance. First year for the 12 volt battery.
Omg Silas, that Jurassic Park vehicle in your entree is a nice touch! Knowing your talent with old vehicles, you’ll have no problem starting projects with them
Little history on the blue 53 Ford. 1) This truck is a 50 year anniversary truck for Ford from 1903 to 1953. 2) The truck has the Custom package. - Stainless steel drip edge trim above the windshield that covers the entire drip edge. - The boomerang on both sides of the hood around the Ford F-series badge. -The grill will have 6 (I think) chrome pieces bolted to the top of the center section. - The horn button on the steering wheel calls out the 1903 - 1953 and that it is an anniversary addition truck. 3) Interior behind the seat should have a cardboard covering. Please don't hold me to this being 100% true, the F-100 I restored had it.
Your a breath of fresh air since 65 I new what scrap was iwas 12 you see things you hold things then make the decision stay or go I am 70 living in a junkyard could not be happier l had a lot of the same thing your dealing with love the auctions take me back.moved to a farm 1976 went to many a farm all the time I was running cross country hauling the mail come home Saturday little add in the kingcity weekly would net me 5 cars when I was gone. Love when I see you get excited over cash finds be careful the IRS is watching youtube
Silas, I had a Hillman Minx when I was in college. It got 55 MPG! I could start it with the key. The harmonic balance had a piece that had a grove in it that I could hook a strap into and pull start it. It also had a shaft that went in a hole below the bumper and the radiator. I would put the key into the on position crank the handle to bring the engine up to top dead center then kick the Handel down like a motorcycle and wala it would be running. Both the handle and the strap were rusty in the tire Hollow in the boot. Fun times. I usto run out of gas frequently because I could go SO far on a tank of gas. Once pushed and steered the car by myself up a hill & then costed to the gas station. Sold it to a school crossing guard who had her son remove the seats and saw the legs off of a wing back chair. She left it permanently parked at the school down the street from my house for years. It was her reading room.
Super cool video today, I enjoy seeing all these vintage heavy duty trucks you get in. Plus everything else that comes in that's older or unique. Silas...these simple, real life uploads you produce are phenomenal. Keep them coming, please don't ever change !
Silas, when I was 23 I got all excited when someone had an ad for a 1964 Dodge panel truck. I mistakenly thought it was going to be an actual Sweptline panel. That's when I learned that Dodge kept running the 60 body in panel truck through the 60s. I was disappointed .
My father owned a Hillman Minx in England in the early '60's - I have happy memories of being lulled to sleep in the back seat on the way home from the Welsh coast. His first car was a Ford Poplar, another popular English family sedan.
Cool Old Cars and Truck - thanks for showing Us and walking around with You - yes - some make Great Wall Art and some Back Ends will be turned into Seats ! Ah - more Car Crushing at another Day ! A Show and Tell Video - NICE ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
This was one of my favorite videos. Loved seeing all the old trucks. My grandfather had a Fraiser and my father drove it sometimes when his car was down. He said it was one of the nicest driving cars he ever drove ( well back then.) My grandpa sold the frasier and bought a 1953 Studebaker Commander. My grampa was kinda cool.
It makes me scratch my head and wonder when Silas has trouble selling something, his prices are always reasonable to me, the only thing I can think of is people aren't sharing his videos enough to get more subscribers and eyeballs on the videos.
My dad bought one of those heavily chromed 1957 GMC pickups with the big engine. He was a sucker for every next biggest, innovative thing car companies were marketing in post war boom America. He and a couple of buddies had a deer lease in the TX Hill Country, but wanted to try elk hunting in CO. There was speculation among them that the older 6-cyl pickup trucks wouldn't make it up the Continental Divide. There are old colored photos of the group standing beside the 57 GMC half ton in front of the Divide sign where they crossed. There were debates on tuning and fuel mixtures for high altitude driving. They hauled a huge tent, and all their camp supplies tetrussed in the bed as high as the cab. I'll never forget the discussions and debates on high altitude winter travel. He bought a set of tire chains for it in case of snow. My dad was the only member of the group to get an elk. He shot it long distance across a deep canyon where there were no roads. Had to hire a guy to pack it out on a mule. That meat was no different than the beef he raised. Company never guessed they were eating wild game pot roast.
I really enjoyed this one. I like seeing what you buy . Thanks for the videos. Also thanks for letting us know how to get ahold of you if we see something we would like to try and buy.
I happen to like pilot House DODGE trucks. I don't have a use for it or the panel truck right now. Pound truck is tempting because it looks pretty decent. And many states you can have it inspected by the state police or somebody like that and they will issue you a tag v i n tag😊 replacement. But it's no longer cereal tag so there's other requirements and it may be listed as a 2023. Or maybe a build project and then they have to look over everything if you don't like something you've done excetera excetera excetera. I enjoyed watching and seeing the vehicles thank you
I seen that Jurassic Park themed car in the beginning of your video that is a classic there are not many of those around still I know if somebody will actually put that up on sale I know somebody would want to have it that's a very big collector of that movie
Love to see trying to save the old iron even if it's trim that old Gmc with the yellow front rim my dad had identical truck with bed in early 70s used as tree spray rig brings back memories of all the old trucks he owned from the 50s through the 60s but they weren't old then just usable workhorses
Greetings from B.C., Silas: As a longtime fan of your channel, I fully agree with you collecting and saving the vintage cars and trucks when it's worthwhile...why not when you get the chance? Anyway, keep up the good work and find some more!
It's good that you save what you can of the old cars. And your prices are pretty cheap for some of those. Too bad you live out there in Kansas Matt. Shipping stuff here gets to be a bit expensive. Thanks for showing all the cool old cars and trucks.
Thanks Silas, this was great content, just love the old trucks you have there. That Hillman Minx was made just a few miles from where Iive here in England. David in the UK.
What you could do with the cab over Ford for wall art is to replicate the old “ big Bruiser” tow truck as wall art .. I used to have one of those back in the day
I swear I remember seeing that Jurasic Park Explorer driving around Great Bend back in the day. Was in Hutch a few weeks ago for my Grandpas funeral and just happened to stumbled across your yard. Wouldve stopped if the gate was open, but unfortunately it wasnt.
Yea we have a tow yard and people can't understand why I send most of the cars to the junk yard they pile up fast and they just don't understand (there is no place to keep them all)..😂😂😂😂.
Thanks Silas, never seen a Hilllan Minx before, looks crushworthy to me, but i'd bet someone would buy it! that yellow plymouth has a s10 front clip on it (pretty sure it has), don't know if it's worth saving though!
Silas, I mention your name to a lot of people who are looking hard for stuff and tell/let them know of your quest to rehome/ repurpose rigs of all makes. I would also like to say to you directly that I have followed you for probably as long as you've had this channel running as a popular salvage operation. One of the things I notice is that you have mellowed out that hardened attitude of "I run a crusher for scrap" and more to seeing rigs get a place where the parts are saved for other people to get some kind of projects that is just blowing up across america. In some ways, if you look at how hard that covid hit america and how it made people stay home.... which made people find a way to use that time for a hobby. Less traveling all over the world, and just stop and enjoy their families. So that is kind of good for folks like you to get others to come and pick out a project. I apologize in advance that my comments are usually just too long for someone like you thats busy to read it all. So if you have read this so far, you also deserve another real decent statement... I said before that I had followed you for a good minute now for a reason, and that is to say... at first your entro's and even the altro's were a bit awkward or kind of stiff from being in front of a camera. Now days you come out positive, no clickbait in any of the entros like a good many folks do. Your relaxed, and have little troubles in making a statement of or about what the days video is about. Also now you do your altro with a very uncommon positive feeling of "Our having a great day as well".. Its something you won't find in many other channels where people who are new and think that they need a catchy cliche. I am saying that you have grown up in a good way to be one of the best videographers in youtube. There must be a good five hundred thousand channels now that try to get where you are now. I see your channel growing slowly but surely with steady views that shall take off at some point to the hundred thousand mark and more as it gains its popularity. I am sure that it is views that make money on youtube and not so much the subscribers number... although its important also. So thank you Silas for allowing me to watch your very good content videos Your also a good family person as I see it in the kids when they appear on one of the videos at times.
I've thought an old fuel truck like that would be a cool mobile BBQ/Smoked meat set up. I don't know if a person could get the tank cleaned out enough though.
Just a little info on the Ford FT engines. One of the reasons folks like the 390 FT is that it has a forged steel crank instead of the cast ones in 390 FE blocks.
Nice clip, it's a 65 chevy, the round tail lights give it away, a 66 has wrap around tail lights,
Love the Frazer you got in . I know, I know. Wall art. Try to restrain yourself for a while. Maybe you can sell it. And the Hillman. Great little car . Great video as always.

Interesting rust garden!
Kick butt silas 😊
55 Ford cars had the big round parking lights and round heater and radio bezels
Omg Silas, that Jurassic Park vehicle in your entree is a nice touch! Knowing your talent with old vehicles, you’ll have no problem starting projects with them
👍👌👏 That's funny. I instantly thought the same.
Best regards, luck and health in particular
To bad he said he is going to crush it 😅
That Frazer is very complete. I know they are not super valuable, but that's an easy restoration
Little history on the blue 53 Ford.

Excellent video. The Hillman &Fraiser would be fun to rebuild. 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Wow, how are there so many old trucks in Kansas? It baffles me, you must buy 200 to 300 a year. That's a lot of old trucks! Love it 😊
The white impala was a 1965. Once I saw the tailight's I knew since the 66 taillights are flat with the body.
So many cool old trucks. Thanks for saving and repurposing them. Really enjoy all your adventures. Peace
More great content! I almost turned appliance mechanic today, had a commercial dishwasher nearly catch fire.
Someone should put an LS in the Frasier
Silas, I had a Hillman Minx when I was in college. It got 55 MPG!

Love the old trucks. We all should take it slow sometimes. Great job.
Silas, when I was 23 I got all excited when someone had an ad for a 1964 Dodge panel truck. I mistakenly thought it was going to be an actual Sweptline panel. That's when I learned that Dodge kept running the 60 body in panel truck through the 60s. I was disappointed .

I love them old big farm trucks. Some of them are cool looking.
Adventures Made From Scratch the Chevrolet Impala @ 18:39 is a '65 not a '66, the Viking Chevrolet truck @ 16:43 is a '58 not a '59.
This was one of my favorite videos. Loved seeing all the old trucks. My grandfather had a Fraiser and my father drove it sometimes when his car was down. I agree! Where I'm from those old Farm trucks are 3×4 times what he's asking for nicer ones.
I agree also.
Great video thumbs up agreed Great day
Your dad hasn't reclaimed the chruser yet what is up with that bat wing Bodie chrusher u got at auction 😊
My dad bought one of those heavily chromed 1957 GMC pickups with the big engine. He was a sucker for every next biggest, innovative thing car companies were marketing in post war boom America. I think the GMC was a 53….split window push button door
Love to see trying to save the old iron even if it's trim that old Gmc with the yellow front rim my dad had identical truck with bed in early 70s used as tree spray rig brings back memories of all the old trucks he owned from the 50s through the 60s but they weren't old then just usable workhorses
The blue Ford is a 1955 - probably a Customline. The dashboard, speedometer, and round heater, radio, and clock makes it easy to identify the 55'.
Greetings from B.C., Silas: As a longtime fan of your channel, I fully agree with you collecting and saving the vintage cars and trucks when it's worthwhile...why not when you get the chance? Anyway, keep up the good work and find some more!
Lots of cool stuff!

Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎

Great vid with a few cool vehicles!
You really got some great stuff this time, Silas!😮😊❤
What you could do with the cab over Ford for wall art is to replicate the old “ big Bruiser” tow truck as wall art .. I used to have one of those back in the day
I keep a GoPro charger in the truck and have multiple batteries just for that one time ya need it
I dig your videos. There's a restaurant in Charlotte that uses Ford a cab-over front for their pick up window.
All very nice Detroit metal. I like that 302 GMC engine.
I love your cabover. Oh I wish I was younger. A perfect car hauler in a sharp color!!!!
I swear I remember seeing that Jurasic Park Explorer driving around Great Bend back in the day. Was in Hutch a few weeks ago for my Grandpas funeral and just happened to stumbled across your yard. Wouldve stopped if the gate was open, but unfortunately it wasnt.
how much for a late 40s early 50s chevy cabs prefer a 5 window n doors one with the wing window n one without with title
cab over would make good mancave bar
Yea we have a tow yard and people can't understand why I send most of the cars to the junk yard they pile up fast and they just don't understand (there is no place to keep them all)..😂😂😂😂.
Love the show and tell videos 😊
I know a guy who is extending a cab on a '54 Chevy to fit it on a 2000 Silverado running gear. He added about 6" from scratch.
save those '65 Impala tail lights
He: They're wall art now
Some interesting old vehicles
A lot of times if you look on the light lenses it'll tell you the year of the vehicle
Nice thought butt buy ing all doesn't pay to keep lights on most forget that be blessed
I haven’t seen a cab over like that ford
Thanks for sharing
Thank you Salis that was great enjoyed it thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video and can't wait for next video
I have one of those Ford Cabover trucks, a 1985 C700. I love them.
On the 66 Chevy save the back lights.someone might need them.on the trunk.
Thanks Silas, never seen a Hilllan Minx before, looks crushworthy to me, but i'd bet someone would buy it! that yellow plymouth has a s10 front clip on it (pretty sure it has), don't know if it's worth saving though!
I’m looking for a GM COE ( cab over engine). I want it for the Hot Rod Power Tour.

I know that Hilmans rare and would think that there is money to be made in parting out the car
Wassup
You can get that Jimmy running and get you a flatbed trailer and haul your own.....
great video
The 55 or 56 Ford has beautiful patina. I wouldn't call it rusty. I've seen worst cars being restored.
Silas do you still have the Frazer I’d be interested
How much do you want for the 51 GMC 5 window 1.5 or 2 ton truck with the WW2 tag on it.
It is sold
love it
Save some for me! I'm heading to North America soon!
I've thought an old fuel truck like that would be a cool mobile BBQ/Smoked meat set up. I don't know if a person could get the tank cleaned out enough though.
Apply lots of fire.
8.15 It is a 55 ford. Mads from Denmark.
8:15
There is an interesting reveal at 3:31 that made me laugh.
Someone could use parts for Project vehicles especially OLD cars and trucks
