How much did the apple watch impact the battery life of your iPhone? I couldn't use the iPhone 6 since it dies on me. Now with Bluetooth always on. Wonder what the battery was like.
nathanpreece Erica is shit ***** Linus is best though I've gone thorugh Loius Rossmann's videos and I must say that is some excellent attitude. He's not really a reviewer but god damn it he's good.
Hi Lisa, I've got to ask you, during the one week usage, did you notice any difference in having your Apple watch on your wrist and the usability of your iPhone? I mean did you feel it has an actual usability that made you use your iPhone less? Thanks
i have an lg g watch and even i am starting to wonder why anyone would need a smartwatch. Give it a week and ebay would be flooded with unwanted apple watches.
Number one reason, they are cool. 2 they are handy. Good for driving, it basically like having your phone hands free and the less you take your phone out of your pocket the leas liklwy it is to get damaged. Ive always worn a watch so its just natrual
pwnisher17 Is it not more dangerous to have to tilt your smart watch and wait a second or two before the screen lights up. That's even before then reading your messages off a tiny screen! You are aware that many cars have Bluetooth connection to phones and will read out your messages for you through the car's speaker?
This has been the most in depth review I have seen thus far of this watch , glad I watched now it shows me the ins and outs thanks & keep youths great work love it
Apple4Android she said she used it intensely for 4 hours at one point and it only used 16% battery and it should be fine to go for 24 hours or so with normal use.
That's so amazing. When I heard it would die in 3 hours of heavy use I was so pissed off. I don't mind charging it every day cause I charge my 6 Plus twice a day butI just wanted it to last the whole day at least :)
Is the aluminum the same type as on a macbook laptop or is it like the stuff that was on the 2nd gen ipod shuffle? It seems like a thicker version of the shuffle material.
MobileTechReview Lisa how's the battery life like? I know you're mostly a heavy user but I'd just like to know how the battery fares according to different kinds of usage. Thanks. ☺️
I've had my Space Grey 42mm Sport edition Apple Watch since April 24th. I pre-ordered mine on April 10th at 12:03 am and was fortunate enough to get it on launch day. To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure I was going to like the watch. I haven't worn a watch for quite some time, and in pictures the Apple Watch looks bulky. However, I must admit, that the Apple Watch is a very nice product (not bulky and looks extremely nice). As a teacher, I find it much easier to view notifications on my wrist rather than pull out my phone (which I don't like to do in front of my students). I have also found the fitness features to be fantastic. Overall, I'm very impressed with Apple's first entry into a wearable product.
Lisa really does some nice reviews. It's clear she knows what information she wants to deliver, and it almost seems like it's coming from someone who just generally wants to show you something cool. For anyone reading, I also learned from someone who has one of these already that you can use it as a viewfinder for your phone to take pictures, you can use Hey Siri anywhere instead of just when your phone is plugged in.
Thanks for this review I find it helpful when it comes to weather or not to buy one. I think the Apple watch will be a big product because Apple seems to make something that makes people not sure if they want it but after a year or so when tons of apps come out it makes people want it more because of how much functionality it has. I think I will buy one because using the message app on it will be very cool but also helpful. I am also wondering how does the settings app look on the Apple watch? Does it show how much space you have on the watch or how much space apps take up?
NIce review Lisa !!! From what i've seen the Apple watch is a App centric device , while android wear is more about google now and notifications , the apps list is hidden almost in Android wear. I guess it show the difference between Apple and Goole, Apple always pushes apps in their devices , while google pushes data and google stuff to you.
I see a lot of reviews of the sport edition but no reviews on actually playing sports. It would be nice to see some review using the watch playing sports. If its useful, if it works well, etc.
honestly these are the best reviews on the internet, you cover everything about the products in an objective interesting way that actually helps me make a decision on a product ... Great Job!
I've watched a lot of reviews on the Apple watch and so far haven't found one that mentions how the watch performs in sunlight. My biggest need for a smart watch is so I can see what is going on when riding a motorcycle. Sunlight is an enemy with almost all smart watches, except the Pebble. Any idea how viewable this is in direct sunlight?
Floyd Warren See the following brief article that links to a very detailed analysis of the Apple watch displays: www.engadget.com/2015/04/27/apple-watch-display-comparison/?ncid=rss_truncated. The analysis seemed compelling to me and in fact persuaded me to cancel my current order for an Apple Watch with the sapphire display to, instead, the Apple Sport Watch which supposedly is less reflective in sunlight. I really liked the steel facing of the Apple Watch but became concerned about how reflective the sapphire facing appears to be in sunlight. Supposedly, a sapphire facing is being developed that will greatly reduce its reflectiveness in sunlight (perhaps available for version 2 of the Apple Watch?).
I'm kind of sad. is it me or does is Lisa losing her critical edge when reviewing Apple products. I'm not here looking for her to slam the product in a Android rulz apple stinks, kind of way, but lately in compared to the past reviews she seems to be quite reserved in any complaints on apple products and almost starting to feel a bit of double standards when reviewing competitors. In the past she would praise Apple where deserved and call them out when they missed the mark. She always gave great honest reviews without having to worry about backlash from an overseeing company/boss. I Don't know maybe she's trying to play the "Apple Game" in order to be included in first waves of review units and invites to product launches. But she just seems to be a bit to overly smitter with Apple products and sort of white washing away any complaints. It really would be sad if she's trying to play the Apple game, Her and MKBHD have always been my go to people for reviews.
Bill Dineen In her opinion, maybe recent Apple products have had less to complain about. I'll tell you right now I've been on Android for awhile and Android Wear since launch. I have every Android Wear watch available as well as Tizen. I've used my Gear S over my Moto 360, G Watch R, Zenwatch because, quite frankly, Android Wear is crap. Seeing all that this Apple Watch can do in actual reviews makes me wish that it was compatible with Android. I'm not the biggest fan of the appearance, but the functionality and battery life seem pretty dang good given how much the watch can do. All of that is basically to say this- my girlfriend and dad recently got an iPhone 6 and in objectively playing with them, I had fewer complaints about the overall device experience than I do with my Note 4, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Nexus 6 (primary devices), despite the fact that I like Android as an OS more. So if I was reviewing those 4 devices, I would have more critiques for the Android devices than I did for the iPhone 6 because they have more room for improvement, then people like you would come along and complain that I was an Apple-Ass-Kisser. Right now, Apple devices seem to have fewer complaint-worthy points when compared to other systems. Accept that or stop watching reviews that are factually true, objective, and unbiased- instead watch those that enforce your biased preference so that you can label them as "fair". Great Review MobileTechReview
MobileTechReview c'mon Lisa, you were talking about that SIMPLE RUBBER BAND as if it were space age technology. "its so nice. its so amazing, its the best thing i ever saw." but just said, "the asus has a leather strap." LOL. C'MON. first of all, most people woud rather have a nice leather quality strap (just like all other high end watches, in fact the plastic and rubber bands are for cheapo chinese watches) instead of a piece of crap casio style rubber wrist strap. but you spent a good minute talking about the rubber band as it were something amazing. hes not the only one that can tell you seem a little starry eyed when you talk about apple products. maybe theyre not paying you, but we all know plenty of iTards out there who PAID APPLE $10,000k for a wrist watch that will be outed dated in 6 months. facts are facts lisa. When you can get comparable and even identical devices at half the cost, you should make that more than clear.
Eynar Dzhavadov When rubber polymers are concerned, this is much more than a "rubber" band, has a mix of silicone, rubber and plastic, making it so durable and flexible you'll never see the end of it. But for those that don't care, it is only a rubber band.
Susazeu lol. you make laugh. tisk tisk, fan boy or girl. almost every plastic is a mix of a thousand different polymers. dont try to sell me dog crap and tell me its diamonds.
Lisa I'm curious. I got my fiancé his on release day and he loves it we got him the sport edition. Is the sapphire glass any better or more scratch resistant to warrant buying the stainless watch since I'm pretty rough on watches? Loved your review and I watch all your reviews before I buy just to get all the information.
As a piece of info/advice, stick with the Apple Watch Sport because the Ion X glass is a lot more durable and scratch resistant than the sapphire glass on the regular Apple Watch and Edition one. Hope it helps a little!
Lisa, we love you! My fiancé and I, both former Apple employees, love your channel! We watch your reviews on products we have no interest in because you do such a great job! Thanks for all your work! Mikel and Claudia
thanks Lisa. Very informative. I don't feel a need to buy this watch. My thoughts are we were going to larger screens on our phones. Now we have reduced this to watch size. Thanks again Lisa great presentation.
I have a Sam Gear 2. I like some of the features on this a bit more than mine. Nice review. One downside to having the Gear 2 is that you can't use all the features if you use a custom launcher (they want you to use touch wiz). :( Makes me sad. I hope they change that in the future. I love the Google now launcher. Works well for me. I'm torn between functionality and happiness. Lol. For now, I'll stick with happiness xD
Lisa, I love your videos! This has nothing to do with the video, but as someone who is on camera a lot you should really get antireflective coating on your glasses. As an eye doctor I may be biased, but it's definitely worth it for someone like you.
Thanks, a very informative review!! If possible can you let us know how the watch works when paired through bluetooth to your phone, your phone is paired to the car & a call comes in. I'm new to this smart watch game & hope you understand what I was asking. Thanks!! Ps. A demo would be even better;-)
I've really noticed a trend where people act like armchair executives and criticise the decisions made by a company based purely on specs and in the end the review comes and they're almost all positive.
With these smart watches coming about, I still get comments on my 1980s (re-production) Casio DBC-610 watch. Maybe the Apple watch will change all that, but people are still amazed by this. I suppose this was among the first smart watches; it includes the time/date, an appointments calendar (or schedule), contacts book, world time, stopwatch, timer/alarm, and a keypad for the calculator function etc.
Honestly, the only thing about this (or any other smart watch) that really appeals to me is the fitbit functionality. Well, that and the map. I've always wanted to have a tiny video game-style minimap in the corner of my field of view. Now if only it showed the locations of enemies and loot.
rowtow13 Also, I disagree with the notion that anyone had to make anyone want an iPod (or other mp3 player) back in the day. I think everyone immediately saw the appeal of a tiny rectangle that contains 1000 of your individual songs at near-CD quality. Unlike smart watches, the appeal of an iPod (compared to the other options for portable music at the time) was immediately obvious.
You are amazing. I was transfixed by your ability to move from one view of this very complicated product to another. You described so much! Thank you. You actually convinced me to buy! Apple owes you!
The battery life is great. start my day at 5:30 am. heavy use all day long. the time i go to bed at 10:00 pm still had 15%. I find it easier to use than my Moto 360.
Great review. I think I'll hold off on my decision for next year, since this still seems like a beta test for the product. It seems like it could use some more polishing.
I'm hoping the Apple Watch 2 will have Touch ID integrated on its screen. Should be interesting how they'll integrate both Force Touch and Touch ID on the same screen.
Maybe someday this will recharge with ambient light just like the Citizen Eco Drive does. Those have me absolutely spoiled, but I'm decided to give this one a spin. Thanks for the review!!!
Great review. I posted my first video about it yesterday. A full day of really intensive use from 1030am until 4am and it didn't die. I fell asleep with it on and woke up at 11am with the 10% battery alert on. Maybe they tweaked some software to improve battery life since the launch? It does however destroy my iPhone battery life. I don't think my iPhone will make it through the whole day without being plugged in now.
I didn't Like / Dislike or make a comment here in UA-cam for like 4 or 5 years or even more, but this video will make me, why ? I liked very much how simple and calm you were talking and expressing your thoughts, I felt that you just were yourself in this Vid, that really made me smile all way through then I asked myself hey man what's goin on lol ! It kinda feel weird I know and I agree but it's what it's lol It's my first time here in your channel I guess and thanks for this review by the way.
Thank you so much for this review! AND all other reviews. You are the person I go to first before I really make a decision on my tech, and I gotta say... You are spot on! 😊
How much did the apple watch impact the battery life of your iPhone? I couldn't use the iPhone 6 since it dies on me. Now with Bluetooth always on. Wonder what the battery was like.
Could we possibly have a smackdown between this and the Moto 360? Thanks! That be awesome
So glad I found this channel! Deliberately haven't watched any Apple Watch reviews yet as I've been waiting for this one.

Thanks
for those wondering, Lisa doesn't get into the watch interface until about 12:05
I still haven't figured out why I would need a smartwatch...!
Tamaits I haven't either... all those functions are just on the phone, what I need to do is just taking it out of my pocket.
i have an lg g watch and even i am starting to wonder why anyone would need a smartwatch.

Agree. another point: it's a bad idea to charge my watch every day.....

How does the glass screen hold up? Scratch resistant?

This has been the most in depth review I have seen thus far of this watch , glad I watched now it shows me the ins and outs thanks & keep youths great work love it
apple watch vs moto 360 or any android wear would be great to see... Great review by the way
***** Agreed, but throw the Pebble in the mix. Android wear doesn't work with iOS yet.
In_a_Trance Studios and the Apple Watch won't work with Android xD
In_a_Trance Studios I wish Android wear works with iOS. Even without considering the hardware, I'd prefer a round face over a square face.
LuwigChannel They know the market, they'll probably release an iOS android wear app
LuwigChannel they are working with a ajios version since monts back...
great video, thanks. is the watch good for anything without the iphone? What features can be used (if any at all) without an iphone.
which is better in your opinion Apple Watch OS or Android Wear?
So the battery life is good???

I found the longer I used the Gear 2 the more I felt I needed it. I'm sure it will be the same with apple watch
I've watched you do another review on a laptop and it was just as good as this review. You are awesome!
I was told it had it's own GPS so if you go on a hike or run, it can accurately travel how far you traveled or like if you travel up in elevation.

All the amazing watches that $10k could buy and people get an Apple. Their marketing people deserve a medal....
Hope you do a Gear S vs apple watch video.
Great review. I am anxious for your smart watch smack-downs. What feature would you most like to see in version 2 of the iOS watch?
Interestingly, the Apple 42 mm screen size is 1.65 inches and Asus Zenwatch has 1.63 inches. Dat bezel....
Great review Lisa!

I'm hoping the Apple Watch 2 will have Touch ID integrated on its screen. Should be interesting how they'll integrate both Force Touch and Touch ID on the same screen.
You're Fantastic, love your reviews. Super in depth. Thank you!
Definitely one of the better reviews of this product!
everything is getting smart, except people. soon we're gonna have smart underpants, iPants
Dear Lisa, I love your reviews and for some reason you kind of calm me down (gettin' a *bit* weird here lol)... So, Thank you for everything! :)
Great review, best one I have seen so far. Thanks!
Very nice review! Thanks!
Glad to see you're not forced to use the digital crown to scroll up and down lists.
Maybe someday this will recharge with ambient light just like the Citizen Eco Drive does. Those have me absolutely spoiled, but I'm decided to give this one a spin. Thanks for the review!!!
I enjoy your reviews, very informative Lisa :)
Excellent review
wait did you say you're 6ft?
Great review. I posted my first video about it yesterday.
A full day of really intensive use from 1030am until 4am and it didn't die. I fell asleep with it on and woke up at 11am with the 10% battery alert on. Maybe they tweaked some software to improve battery life since the launch?
It does however destroy my iPhone battery life. I don't think my iPhone will make it through the whole day without being plugged in now.
Excellent review!!!
It kinda feel weird I know and I agree but it's what it's lol
It's my first time here in your channel I guess and thanks for this review by the way.
Thank you so much for this review! AND all other reviews. You are the person I go to first before I really make a decision on my tech, and I gotta say... You are spot on! 😊
