Did you think to check for consecutive Serial Numbers ( as in they came from the Arsenal in the same Crate!) They might have been Civil Defense or American Legion

@@THEPAGUNGUY Howdy.. you know the CMP is selling the returns from the VFW and other's right now ..or they were as of late. You know the marking on the stock ? you could call the CMP armory and ask about that and they would tell you a lot about them.
Would still take one over any RTI gamble! I'm surprised they held up so well underneath. Good stuff.
If you want to get the rust off the rifles, go and boil them for about 45 minutes and then use some 0000 steel wool and card that rust off.
I second this. Or mount a carding wheel on a buffer motor instead of steel wool.

Yea my friend who is a FFL he is the guy I traded my one 1917 to for the Type 99. He told me the same thing he thought they were DMC guns as well.
