@@notshadow4061 I only saw Metallica in 2003 in San Francisco, California right when they got Trujillo to replace Newstead. Regardless, it's not my niche opinion, it's a widespread consensus among Metallica fans that their Seattle concert from 1989 was their most energetic, badass, intense concert experience and it shows in the frenetic video recording preserving it. I know this song is about drugs, but it helped me get over my masturbation/pornography addiction and for that I must say thank you. Stranger Things made me think about it and I realized I could comment on UA-cam. “Laughing at my cries” was very relatable because I was too scared to ask family members for help, so I’d ask people online/friends and all I ever was told was that I only felt like it was an addiction because of my religious beliefs. I was constantly tired, distracted, depressed, and I had trouble keeping relationships. I finally built up the courage to confess my consumption of porn to my preist and he suggested praying, meditation, and that I listened to this song whenever I felt tempted. That growling from 00:45 was brutal and fucking great 👍👍👍
One of the greatest songs ever written about addiction. They brought awareness to a subject before our society as we now know it is plagued with it, looking for a solution> Master of Puppets, I'm pulling your strings, twisting your dreams and smashing your dreams, blinded my me you can't see a thing...
I’m 50 and been listening to Metallica since high school and this is the best rendition of Master I’ve ever heard!
It’s great but I respectfully disagree. Seattle 1989 concert for the And Justice For All tour had the best rendition of Master of Puppets. It was raw as hell!
@@ericconnor8251 I think that 89 was cool but I feel like this age of Metallica has more feel......but damn I miss Jason
Good that we all can agree on Seattle '89 being the freaking best live performance.
Manchester was epic too despite the pouring rain
@@notshadow4061 I only saw Metallica in 2003 in San Francisco, California right when they got Trujillo to replace Newstead. Regardless, it's not my niche opinion, it's a widespread consensus among Metallica fans that their Seattle concert from 1989 was their most energetic, badass, intense concert experience and it shows in the frenetic video recording preserving it. That particular show is pure speed metal, with almost each song being played about 1.5 times faster than the album versions.
I play this daily with coffee, a joint and a 10-minute head bang - it helps my neck pain! Metallica rock! Stay rocking!
What im currently doing minus head bang
Me too!! I just did it right now! Wake up in the morning…coffee+Metallica playing Master of Puppets…I’m ready for a hard day!🤘🏻🎸
@@MiriMatAp The joint helps the neck pain, not the head banging, right? ;-)
Nek minute....
@@JasonEvangelho Nah the head banging helps more
I love when James and Kirk start walking around and just jam with the audience singing back the solos notes to them. 🤟🤟
Is it just me or has Lars improved his playing during the pandemic? He keeps his tempo and doesn't seem to overuse fills 💪🏼
Are you joking? Lara wouldn’t k ow what a metronome is if his life depended on it. He’s old and forgiven for not being anywhere close to time
@@stunew78 While thats true, he has improved a bit

@@tbzevankman418 what an ignorant comment. ‘Go drum for Metallica’ are you offering this to me you 🤡🍆? This is in your control to offer to me? Get over yourself
@@stunew78 no I'm saying don't criticize someone who does something you can't. He's good at drums. Don't say he's not, I think that's ignorant 😂
I love when he screams "shit" after missing a note at 7:00. It's so encouraging to see that as a beginner guitarist.
he actually just says "sha" to match the tempo of the song
Nah actually he does that live, he didn’t say that because he missed the note. He makes a shhh noise and then the whole band goes silent.
One of the most iconic songs ever in metal world! 🤟🔥

Facts
this song is not one of the most iconic, it is the most!
@@hikkavill338 Hmm War Pigs, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Painkiller, Stargazer, Raining Blood, Pull the Plug, Symbolic, Grotesque Impalement and Fermented Offal Discharge are all very much up there as well, in terms of iconitiy.
That was how I learned about Metallica and have been a fan ever since.
Gotta say James is looks like he's getting in shape and looking better every set. Keep at it James!
James is the best photographer
James is the best I have seen Him back Stage he is a Awesome person rock on James 🤘
I’m only a millennial who’s just started listening to Metallica and is a newcomer who’s late to the party. I just gotta say this is the most badass metal band I’ve listened so far and I normally listen to bands like Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Beatles, AC/DC, The Who and Queen just to name a few.
In case you guys wanna follow along but don’t know the lyrics..
End of passion play, crumbling away
I'm your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear
Sucking darkest clear
Feeding on your death's construction
Taste me and you will see
More is all you need
Dedicated to
How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master
Master of puppets I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream

Needlework the way, never you betray
Life of death becoming clearer
Pain monopoly, ritual misery
Chop your breakfast on a mirror
Taste me and you will see
More is all you need

How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster

Master, master
Where's the dreams that I've been after?
Master, master
You promised only lies
Laughter, laughter
All I hear and see is laughter
Laughter, laughter
Laughing at my cries
Fix me
Hell is worth all that
Natural habitat
Just a rhyme without a reason
Neverending maze
Drift on numbered days
Now your life is out of season
I will occupy
I will help you die
I will run through you
Now I rule you too
Come crawling faster

Your life burns faster

The level of play and performance for their age is stupendous.

That's what muscle memory does. They have probably performed this song more than a thousand times.

There is a video of Joseph Quinn where he meets Metallica

Alright metallica, you’ve introduced me to metal and I appreciate that. I’m a newer fan but I know us newer fans are welcome to the family. Thanks for all of it metallica 🖤🔥

4:31, when you see the new generation and kids enjoying a Metallica concert that’s when you regain faith in humanity and believe there is hope for society !
Absolutely,
Lollapalooza this year was crazy. Such a great line up. Metallica, Green Day, J hope and so many others.
I'm so glad the younger generation gets to know these legends as well ❤️ Absolutely love them!! Saw them in 2019, best concert I've ever been to. Hope I get to see them live again soon! Keep on rocking 🖤 We love you Metallica 🤘
Well Stranger Things is certainly helping. I personally knew Metallica from like 2014ish-2019ish but I'm glad audience is expanding thanks to Stranger Things 4.
