Peter Tahoe Master of Puppets is not difficult to sing and play. Most of the stuff up until MoP is easy. Justice gets a little hard because of all the random timing/ riffs.

It's a matter of recording directly out of the AxeFX in a small space vs sending it through a busted old PA in a concrete room where the phase issues and reflections are hell on earth. There's just no way to see big bands with good audio the venues suck especially for complex metal stuff.
if some cant see his ability, they need an ear check, it has blown my mind from day one how he can sing and perform like a boss, always on time, always on tune, dead on!
It wasn't really muted in any of their albums, it's only usually drowned a lot after Cliff died. Listen to the albums Cliff was on, then the ones Jason was on. There's a huge difference, because you can hear the former loud and clear, and the latter is extremely drowned. An example would be on And Justice, where Lars lowered the bass so far it's barely audible, and maxed out the drums. This results in a bass that gets overlooked, and really ear piercing drums. And Justice was still a great album.

Okay, yes, James Hetfield is fast making downstrokes but Kirk Hammet is also doing downstrokes during almost ALL the song, so let’s give him credit not only for the solos
People don' appreciate Kirk enough. James is the singer and sometimes simplifies the riffs because Kirk is always spot on through the whole song. As for his solos, they are freaking awesome. He wrote some of the best solos ever.
This normal Master of Puppets tempo is nothing for them, they're not even blinking. Most amateur trash guitarists can handle Master Of Puppets. This live version hower: ua-cam.com/video/BvkJ6ueX-DQ/v-deo.html
lllblisslll , I know you're not familiar with guitar, but try this: make the motion like you're picking back and forth across a string at a relatively slow pace. Now, try it again but do it twice as fast. If you downpick everything you have to bring your pick across the string twice as many times as alternate picking would require. It without a doubt causes you to hit the string harder, so that's essentially why downpicking is better for rhythm. That and your wrist is naturally faster on the downpick than picking up.
I’m not a metal fan. But this is really well played and written. Fantastic musicians. Robert fits that band so perfectly. Well mixed and great performance.

yea , just about the best live mix metallica ever had and really about the best live performance of master of puppets i ever heard , and i have heard a lot
No you're not hearing things. The line in the song at that point on the record is "fix me" but Cliff Burton used to think that James was saying "pancakes" for some reason. So out of James's admiration of Cliff, it's tradition during live performances to keep it in. Though there are live recordings of MoP where he still says "fix me" and I think at least one other, rarer phrase, "pancakes go" or just "pancakes" is the most common line before the lead.
I love at about 6:30 james wants a selfie with rob! It really doesn't get much better than this. Trading intricate solos, the build up. Everyone is in the pocket. Rob really makes the band sound rock solid.

I also felt this way this morning when I heard it live.
Yup
Yes, now let's re-record "Justice" with Newsted and actually turn that shit up to 11
you must be joking right?you can always hear the bass clearly in any Metallica live performance.
CaptainChaos88 lol....
This was aRREEAAAALLLL clean !!!
bakerXderek tight look who I found...sup bud
I seriously have no clue how hetfield is able to play this song all the way through without his wrist snapping in half
7:07 smile on Jame's face... It's like he's thinking "shit we're good at this"
Kirk answering 85 like a wife who remembers the last time her husband renovated the kitchen
this made me laugh out loud
So funny.
😂
Everytime. I laugh at your comment. Lol.
Jajajjaaaa csm
Robert gives justice to the bass lines of this iconic masterpiece. Never I imagined that the bass lines are so melodic.
No justice for jason...👎😭
I think we need to talk about how excellent his voice is. Blew my mind, sounds the exact same as the records!
Look at the expression on James face while Kirk is shredding the solo. He clearly hasn’t lost his love for music
6:29
James : Hey rob look at my guitar its cool isn't it
Sound Mixer Dude: "And Justice for Jason..."
Wow
But Jason wasn’t even around for the making of MOP...
Cause James motioned for him to turn it up
Love Howard's response...."You boys are something else!"
Goddamn that audio mix is blowing the hair off my balls, great job!
Triple M 😄😄😄😄😄
I hearing the bass so clearly
yea , just about the best live mix metallica ever had and really about the best live performance of master of puppets i ever heard , and i have heard a lot
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree. One HELL of a great sound mix!!
6:12 James Shouting: *Pancakes Go!* as he introduces Kirks guitar solo, or am i hearing things?
That's what Cliff thought he said when they were drunk once, so he tends to do that as a sign of respect and thought.
No, I hear it to. Lol
That's exactly what you are hearing, lol. Search for the video where Charlie Benante explains the story behind it.
Tuii no your not
Lars should shave his head and grow a viking beard. I mean he is from Denmark.
Yes!!!!!
yes.
Oh, I thought that was Teller.
Hell yes!!
He is a Nord
real music at its finest. gorgeous. absolute perfection.
4:15 Mr Robert Trujillo on Bass Guitar🤘🏻🎸
Rest In Peace Dear Clifford Lee Burton 🤘🏻❤❤
This song is almost 30 years old abd they still play it this clearly.
it's older than 30 years
Approaching 40 years.
Nice math bro
well, it is because they're playing this song for over 30 years.
3:42 Holy pants Rob, that was smooth...
I noticed that too!!! Omg that was amazing, that little extra bass fill made this for me. Incredible
8:40 that laugh is UNBELIEVABLE T_T REAL MASTERS !!!!
The awesomeness of Robert Trujillo's bass work on this makes me giggle.
6:26 It’s dope how James even lets Kirk get the spotlight for his solo and enjoys it too lol #respect
I like that
Jeezy 47 I think they’ve both had a lot of spotlight. This ain’t a thang for them. They aren’t a band. They are a family.
Jeezy and Beezy haha.
Jeezy 47 that’s why their legendary
James looking at kirk during the solo, like he just nailed it flawlessly for the first time ever lol
Except he didn't nail it at all
Kind of have to agree!
It's because he didn't use wah
@@SynSkirata XDD
They jaminn
They sound great - and as a bass player I love hearing that great tone cutting through the mix!
I love at about 6:30 james wants a selfie with rob! It really doesn't get much better than this. Trading intricate solos, the build up. Everyone is in the pocket. Rob really makes the band sound rock solid.
Just hearing Rob's bass that loud is itself a tribute to Cliff... \m/
adzari I think it's great to but that's a huge stretch
Best version I've heard of this song. I like his voice better today than in the 90's. Deeper and richer.
Benji The Bobcat the guitars sound amazing!!!
Benji The Bobcat Was about to comment the same thing.
Benji The Bobcat yeah Howard Stern got a good version here.
This is from the 80s
@@toddsharearm9875 I think he was referring to the fact that the mainstream majority prefers early 90's james' vocals
