I hear the same thing regularly. Take your criticism to a music store, buy something me instruments and show us how it's done. Where is music supposed to go after this level?
Since I was 9 years old and bought the In Rock album I only knew Hush. So I grabbed the Album for $3.50 with my Newspaper Route Money. I put the Album on my GE Wildcat Stereo and Speed King came on and I blown a way. Then Child In Time was sad but powerful and it took awhile at that age to realize just how damn good it is and always will be. Still haunting at 60 years old. I have never ever got tired of Deep Purple. I love it as much today as 51 years ago. No fake Instruments or Voices. Just rate talent that came out and kicked your ass.
All I have to say is the UK has produced some amazing bands, especially back in the day! This is when music WAS music! Love Deep Purple. All the bands from the UK from the 60's and 70's just blew everyone away! Now you both can understand why I love classic rock. Like the two of you, I was born well after all these amazing bands came out. If I had a time machine, the three of us would go back in time to see all these bands in concert. We have missed out on so much. Ian's voice reminds me of Robert Plant's voice, back in the day. I had a feeling the two of you would love Deep Purple as they sound a bit like Zeppelin, in some of their songs. People might disagree with me but that is okay. Another great reaction video, ladies. I enjoyed this one for International Monday! Keep the musical journey going and tell your dad thank you for this selection.....awesome choice! Love and blessings! 💖
Caro paul kruger i m sabir sicilian are 50 years that we SING the song of Ian gillan . In thistime i don't have the and voice and SING my son rory. Ciaoooo wonderful deep purple.
Hello young ones! All these band back from the 60,70, are so beautiful ! I'm in my late 60 and still jamming out to it! What a discovery of real music for you.
So glad you both listened to us and loved it as much it's a true epic.Another epic which you just HAVE to react to is the first side of 2112 by in my opinion the greatest band ever the mighty Rush. You wont regret it
The lead singer is Ian Gillian. In 1970 he sang the part of Jesus on the rock opera Jesus Christ Super Star. One of the most amazing vocal performance ever!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, Ian Gillan.. the very first (studio) recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. I have it still (+ most other versions from later times, movie, stage etc)
young ladies!!! I was 12..13 when I heard Deep Purple for the very first time, many many decades ago and I still love them, now that I'm 64! I feel so grateful I grew up in the late 60's and 70's as teenager. I love the way you respond to this band and the song!
Everybody is always talking about the angelic vocals of Ian Gillan and the crazy guitar solos of Richie Blackmore, some even mention the true god of Deep Purple: organist John Lord. But no-one talks about the incredible bass of Roger Glover and the superb drumwork of the hardest working drummer ever, Ian Paige. This was the very first supergroup ever. Each of them was a master in his field and they will never be equalled.
You girls are so sweet and your reactions are lovely! They do indeed deserve a standing ovation, and so do you! I'm so touched that you gals are discovering and appreciating music that this old lady grew up with! This was in 1970 and originally about the Vietnam War and the other Cold War conflicts, as well as the ever present threat of nuclear war. I often have musical dreams, and I've dreamt this song all the way through while it tears me up emotionally, just as it does in real life. It's tragically timeless because it fits every war, every terrorist attack, every crazed shooting ever. The screams are so intense and the occasionally rough sound so fitting that even though it makes me cry, it's still a masterpiece that I can't help but listen to all the way through once it starts. I was 7 years old in 1970, and am so glad I grew up with Deep Purple and all the other great bands of that time.
I think you guys are going to love Deep Purple. That guitarist is Ritchie Blackmore who later formed the band Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio (I think you reacted to Stargazer by Rainbow, that was the same guitarist). Ian Gillan on vocals. After Ian left, they got David Coverdale who later went on to form Whitesnake. Ian Gillan also sang for Black Sabbath on the Born Again album. Enjoy Deep Purple, they rock. 🤘

It’s great to see you appreciate the great talent of these awesome musicians. Purple was a frequently & loudly played band here at the house, to the chagrin of my neighbors. Time has only increased my respect for them, especially Jon Lord & Ritchie. I love Jon Lord on Hammond organ, especially that B-3 with a Leslie speaker. Took lessons in the 60’s but didn’t hear this until 1973. And, as for Ritchie, I have more respect for him year after year. Great job ladies! Thanks!

Deep Purple! So many memories growing up! Highway Star, Woman From Tokyo, Space Truckin, Smoke on The Water & my favorite Perfect Strangers! One of my dad’s favorite bands. I got to see them in 2017 sadly my father past just the year before. I know he was still there rocking right with me! Thanks ladies! Excellent Job!!!
Your reactions are right on the money again ladies. Deep Purple were an awesome live band as proven on the " Made In Japan" album from 1972. Thank you once again for making an old rocker ( I was 16 when " Child In Time" was recorded) smile. Keep reacting and rocking please!!
Lucky Bastard. I had ticks for them in 87 for the House of Blue Light tour but Ritchie broke/sprained a finger catching a guitar and my show was cancelled. I saw them in 97 sans Blackmore. Which doesn't count.
I love this reaction so much this was my brother's favorite band he died in 1974. He was 18...and to see you ladies love this.. made me happy...that something he loved so much isn't forgotten

I love that you smiled during the whole experience - that was exactly my reaction when I first consciously listened to Deep Purple :) It's fascinating how much joy a piece of art like this can bring to so many generations
This is what rock is all about, and I'm impressed that you Two Girls were so moved and impressed by the music and the performance. Deep Purple are one of the all-time greatest rock bands.
Great job once again girls !!!! Welcome to my world, the music of the 70’s was real !!! Mia nailed it “ put on your top hat and enjoy the ride” !! Your about to go on a trip !!! 🤟
I love the way you two are so moved by the music you hear, and actually do some research into the performers as well. You're a joy to watch! This song, in fact the entire album "Made in Japan", kept me relatively sane when I was about your age. Also check out a live rendition of "Highway Star". As someone else commented below, Ian Gillan left the band for a while and was temporarily replaced by David Coverdale who later formed Whitesnake. Bassist Roger Glover was replaced by Glenn Hughes, who also happens to be an incredible singer in his own right. Check out "Burn" recorded live at California Jam in about 1974. Rock on!
I was 19 years old when I heard them for the first time, it was the summer of 1970, it impacted me so much that I could never stop listening to them, I had the L.P. vinyl as if they were food for my soul, I still keep them and my last breath in life will be while "Child In Time" plays. Thanks Ian Gillan and the rest of the band, Ian Paice, Roger Glover, Steve Morse and Don Airey.
I find it remarkable that you guys listening and reacting to this 50+ year old song!! I enjoyed watching YOUR reaction, as I was on the first concert after they recorded that album! I am still a loyal Deep Purple fan and in my humble opinion the vocals from Ian have never been topped in rock music! Jon Lord was the finest pianist and departed far too early! Deep Purple - rock on for the next 50+ years!!!
Welcome to Deep Purple, Ladies 😎! We felt the same way you did when we first " reacted" to them. They are a group of outstanding musicians. Now you know that there are a lot of vocal monsters out there 😎. Hope you keep on 👍🏼!
I'm glad these young ladies are discovering the great music of the 1960s and 1970s. As much as I like music from the 1980s and 1990s, it just doesn't compare.
i love these 2 girls, they're genuine, unlike some of these people doing music"reaction"videos where they are just paying attention to themselves on camera with the fake reactions so they can go back and look at themselves later,...narcissistic fools.....GOOD JOB GIRLS ,Well done, thanks for keeping it real when the others(many of them anyway)are not
Over 50 Years old and still a MASTERPIECE in Rock Music. Check out "April", another great Song from Deep Purple. For the next International Monday go for "GENESIS" (Start with "Firth of Fifth" - you will love it.) Btw you do a great Job, great Reaction.
“We recognize the guitarist as the guy from Rainbow”. LMAO it’s like seeing a portrait of George Washington and saying “wait a minute, that’s the guy from the dollar bill!”.
I heard this song when it first came out and it still gives me chills. Seeing two young people embracing the past is heartwarming. Maybe there is hope for us all. Music touches us all in every language. Thank you both for making my day.
My stepfather introduced me to this music when I was around your ages. I love watching your responses, because I felt that same way when I first heard this music. Eventually, I became a rock drummer, and I've been one for almost 35 years now. This music has brought me so much joy and solace over the years, and has gotten me through the darkest times of my life. I'm happy for both of you that you're discovering this powerful music. Thank you for sharing your journey!
we're back there in 1970, just look at the audience, even they didn't understand (yet) :D RIP Jon Lord and yeah Ian Gillan ♥, the best ever! As usual love your react, keep up the great work, there is still ALOT of the 70's to discover :)
How cool is this 😎 these two young girls listening to child in time there is hope for our youth well done 👏 girls u have entered the world when there was actually music 🎶 spread the word 😊
Great, girls. Now you had them all. The Holy Trinity of Hard Rock / Metal: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple. Next to all the other great bands that came along through the years. Rainbow, Dio, Rush, Queen, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kiss, Scorpions, Def Leppard, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Queensryche, Guns & Roses... etc. Realize that this is now half a Century ago. And still leads to open mouths, stunned from what you just saw, 10 seconds of complete silence and then your standing ovation. Great reaction, ladies. Keep it rocking!!
Little girls, there are millions and millions of your peers who listen to rock music. You have a duty to preserve these magnificent masterpieces and hundreds of millions of young people have had the immense pleasure of seeing them live.
I think Burn would be good for the girls to watch, because the drums are insane, vocals are excellent from Coverdale and especially Hughes.Lord and Blackmore both have some of their best solos in the song too.
A lot of great information in the comments here,so I will just say that I knew you girls would love this song. There is no finer vocalist in rock, than Ian Gillan in his prime. You both are astute enough to realize the talent of all the others in the band also.Probably the most talented all around rock band of their time. This is the kind of song that still sounds great 50 years later and both of your responses are proof of that. I enjoyed watching.
This is just incredible. Deep Purple in Rock is a Masterpiece. Started my journey into heavy metal. Glad you loved it. But girls, you still have to do Victim of Changes by Judas Priest. Again, it's epic with other worldly vocals.
Me too! In Rock is my all time favourite Studio Album. I was 9 years old when I bought the Album with my Newspaper Route Money. I bought it I think for $3.50. The only song I heard of Purple was Hush. I really liked Hush. When I put the album on my GE Wildcat Stereo and Speed King came on I was blown away and so where my parents Ha ha! Memories. I bet you are like me. If I had a dollar for every time I was told to turn down the music I would be wealthy. I went to Headphones and my hearing is still great at 60. If your parents liked your music you were listening to the wrong stuff.
Your girls are so lucky I grew up with that kind of music I'm 71 years old my time is limited. But your girls are young and you have a lot of exploring to do, I think 60s the 70s and some of the 80s there was some damn good music. Your ladies had the same reaction that I did the first time I heard it 50 some odd years ago. I loved your reaction and I did subscribe, Your lady's keep at it❤❤❤
The admired organ is a legendary instrument, the so-called "Hammond" organ, which is purely mechanical. It is characterized by the ability to produce a full tremolo. This is created by rotating speakers. For many years this was the only way to hear a tremolo; except for the human voice, of course.
I love your reactions! They are so insightful and true to the music. You really get right to the heart of the song and it's emotions. Deep Purple is my all-time favorite band. Thanks for creating this great video and sharing it with us.
From someone who's been listening to this song for years, I was so pleased to see your reaction to this was the same as mine! Keep up the good work, girls.
The organist has played with Orchestras. Jon Lord is a legend and even played with bands like Whitesnake whose lead singer was also lead singer for Deep Purple in the early 70's after Gillian had a falling out with the band. Gillian did return and is the vocalist for this song. LOL the look on your faces at the end was priceless, now ladies you have your mission, go out into the world and make your friends understand DEEP PURPLE ROCKS
42 year-old dude here. Very heart-warming to see your reaction, and very funny too when he started screaming haha. You keep exploring old stuff, this is the way! Nice catch with Rainbow's Richie Blackmore!
Proto-metal at its best. It's up for debate but many see Deep Purple as the first metal band. You can scream in tune, that's what people who hate Metal can't understand.
Si quieres apreciar la verdadera dimensión de Deep Purple mucho mejor en vivo...., Made in Japan, Made in Europe, In concert..., etc. Saludos y bienvenidas a la familia Purple
WOW!! YOU GIRLS ARE AWESOME!! SO AHEAD OF YOUR TIME!! I'm 59 years old and back in those days, I only heard a few Deep Purple songs but didn't really care for organ Rock so I pretty much dismissed them. Heard Smoke on the Water but got sick because the radio stations ran that song into the ground as they did to Freebird!! Liked Highway Star but never really got into them. Then I get a notification for Your reaction and decided to check it out!! WOW!! This Song Blew My Mind and despite hearing Of This Song, Never heard it Until Now!! Thanks SOOOOOO much as I got tears in my eyes right now.
Your channel is really fun. You started with a really gem from Deep Purple. This song is more progressive rock vs the other Deep Purple songs that are heavy but more rock styled
For more Deep Purple I highly recommend Sometimes I feel Like Screaming (Live). It's a "newer" song of theirs, first album with Steve Morse as my guitarist. Steve Morse is my favorite guitarist of all time and believe him to be one of the best, with little commercial recognition.
Wow fantastic when I was young we listened on tapes and records or radio I cut my teeth on deep purple this is one of my all time favourite tunes but I’ve never see them in the flesh this was brilliant brings back so many good memories thanks again Mia thanks again Juliet your re rocking with it all now I’m always watching your reactions and there going to new levels
Seeing your reaction warms my heart. There is something very nice about seeing young people really appreciate rock music that was first played more than half a century ago. Musically I think we were very spoilt back in the 1960s and 1970s. We took it all for granted. It never occurred to me that it could end. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever and that great era of music faded away and (just an old man's view) I don't think anything since that time has really come close to the calibre of rock music being produced then (bar a few notable exceptions - Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and some others). At that time every rock band worth it's salt had a first class lead guitarist. The Who had Pete Townsend, Led Zeppelin had Jimmy Page, Black Sabbath had Tony Iommi, Deep Purple had Ritchie Blackmore, Uriah Heep had Mick Box, The Rolling Stones had Keith Richards, Cream had Eric Clapton, The Yardbirds had Eric Clapton and later also had Jimmy Page, etc etc. Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Thank you for the video and thank you for your thoughtful comments.
It must be amazing to have grown up in the 2000s where hardly any chart acts play instruments and use autotune then see raw live talent like Deep Purple.
Child in time... one of the most chilling songs of all time.
Absolutely!!!
You 2 girls describe this song so beautifully the emotion is incredible.....
I grew up on this, now you know why us old folks aren't impressed with most of the new stuff.

Deep purple Historical band and this is a epic song definitely one of the bands most influential great reaction girls
Welcome to Deep Purple, Ladies 😎!
We felt the same way you did when we first " reacted" to them. They are a group of outstanding musicians. Now you know that there are a lot of vocal monsters out there 😎.
Hope you keep on 👍🏼!
Absolutely perfect reaction, girls! I had similar reaction first time I heard this when I was roughly 12, 13 years old. STILL gets me every time!
Same. Cool comment. 🇬🇧
So glad you played this song! You girls are the absolute best! God bless. Yeeeeeeaaaa!
Out of all of Deep Purple's songs, I feel this one best exemplifies Ian Gillan's vocal range.
I'm glad these young ladies are discovering the great music of the 1960s and 1970s. As much as I like music from the 1980s and 1990s, it just doesn't compare.
i love these 2 girls, they're genuine, unlike some of these people doing music"reaction"videos where they are just paying attention to themselves on camera with the fake reactions so they can go back and look at themselves later,...narcissistic fools.....GOOD JOB GIRLS ,Well done, thanks for keeping it real when the others(many of them anyway)are not
Ritchie Blackmore was the founder of Rainbow feat Dio..
All the top rock bands of this era were amazing and it's great to see youngsters listening and appreciating.
So truth,so truth...
Over 50 Years old and still a MASTERPIECE in Rock Music. Check out "April", another great Song from Deep Purple. For the next International Monday go for "GENESIS" (Start with "Firth of Fifth" - you will love it.) Btw you do a great Job, great Reaction.
Me too bro.Rockin never die.
“We recognize the guitarist as the guy from Rainbow”. LMAO it’s like seeing a portrait of George Washington and saying “wait a minute, that’s the guy from the dollar bill!”.
Deep Purple is so much more than just Smoke On The Water.
Couldn't have said ir better
I heard this song when it first came out and it still gives me chills. Seeing two young people embracing the past is heartwarming. Maybe there is hope for us all. Music touches us all in every language. Thank you both for making my day.
Thank you T MT!
'probably the biggest plot twist in my life' excellent commentary girls well done... luv your reaction!
Thank you Trevor!
Ian Gillian was the original voice for the lead character in the 1970 prototype concept album Jesus Christ Superstar.
we're back there in 1970, just look at the audience, even they didn't understand (yet) :D RIP Jon Lord and yeah Ian Gillan ♥, the best ever! As usual love your react, keep up the great work, there is still ALOT of the 70's to discover :)
How cool is this 😎 these two young girls listening to child in time there is hope for our youth well done 👏 girls u have entered the world when there was actually music 🎶 spread the word 😊
I got goosebumps seeing how excited they were during the second high pitch melody knowing that it doesn't end there.
Many bands nowadays are called epic, and that's fine... but this band deserve the legendary title
Little girls, there are millions and millions of your peers who listen to rock music. You have a duty to preserve these magnificent masterpieces and hundreds of millions of young people have had the immense pleasure of seeing them live.
Yep Well Done !!! You made me Recall how Good a Song & Band Deep Purple Are !!!! 👍 from Perth Australia 🙃
I was a teenager listening to this. Love Deep Purple!
Smoke On The Water, Burn, Highway Star are a few others to check out
I think 'Lazy' would blow them away. For that matter, the whole 'Machine Head' album is worth their time.
I knew that there was a song i was forgetting
@@MRBrien77 My Woman From Tokyo....
@@debjorgo another good one
I agree there were others at the time as well but yeah there wouldn't be metal if it weren't for them and a few others
Si quieres apreciar la verdadera dimensión de Deep Purple mucho mejor en vivo...., Made in Japan, Made in Europe, In concert..., etc. Saludos
y bienvenidas a la familia Purple
You ladies chose really legendary song and live performance
These guys are all classically trained. This is just so amazing. Love Deep Purple xx
Your channel is really fun. You started with a really gem from Deep Purple. This song is more progressive rock vs the other Deep Purple songs that are heavy but more rock styled
Deep Purple are awesome. This is one of their top three songs for me.
Honestly that's a good song. And I'm happy to know that new generations getting know amazing songs and bands!
For more Deep Purple I highly recommend Sometimes I feel Like Screaming (Live). It's a "newer" song of theirs, first album with Steve Morse as my guitarist. Steve Morse is my favorite guitarist of all time and believe him to be one of the best, with little commercial recognition.
I've heard this song since I was about 10 years old and at 48, it still gives me goose bumps listening to it :-)
Great reaction!!
Never pause Child in time, never. 😁
thank you ladies! i've not heard that in a long time :) big love to all people :)
i love your reactions. At the beginning amazed, at the end flabbergastered ;) love it when you said: i have to hear it again :-)
This is just an awesome live performance one of the greatest voices in rock, thanks
