1970, 2070, 2170....3070....the best rock band ....DEEP PURPLE ❤
To be honest, rather than watching your daughter, I was amused by the expressions on your face... only because I know that my face probably looks exactly the same when I'm listening to Deep Purple. 🤘💜
That was really funny when the ad popped up. You two were so pissed! LOL
They look sober enough.
@@capcompass9298 LOL!
hahahaha me too
What a voice ! what a band ! Deep Purple in the legend 🙌👏🤘
Hi guys - I am now almost 70 years old, from Germany and a hopeless music fan. My favorite music is soul, funk and groove; however, I am not averse to other directions, if the songs are only good.
But what I wanted to say is that here in southwest Germany we have a radio station, called SWR, that does a representative poll on the radio every year. Thereby the best 1000 songs, determined by the listeners, are evaluated and broadcasted in 3days and nights. Thereby Deep Purple with "Child on Time" are ALWAYS among the first 5, accompanied by Led Zeppelin with "Stairway to Heaven" and Pink Floyd with dieverse titles.
I've been listening to this playlist for decades now and I'm always filled with goosebumps when it comes to said songs. Devoutly I sit there then and whistle me then the Sons purely. AND SOMETIMES I also cry. Because there is nothing like good music.
Awww, this was beautiful you lovely folk. Watching dad & the lovely daughter react. You are so lucky both.
I seen Deep Purple at their peak in Glasgow, Scotland back in 1971. Ritchie bust up his guitar and chucked it into the crazy crowd, part of it hit my mates head which is now his most precious possession.
Seen them at the Green’s Playhouse in 72 on the Machine Head tour amazing
Classic masterpiece. Still contemporary , groundbreaking and unique. Nice reaction.
Greatest song ever written.
It's a truly great rock song . But no it is not in my opinion. and not only me .
But your opinion so ok .
awesome song, timeless. Gillan's voice is so unique too. a band at the top of their game,
I used to listen to this (contraband) song when I lived in the USSR as a teenager. ... One of the best along with another classic of Uriah Heep - July Morning! Ian Gillan also is the best in “Jesus Christ Superstar”!
From Australia, Deep Purple one of the greatest classic British hard rock bands of the late 60s early 70s, seem them live numerous times in there heyday as I grew up in the S.F. bay area during this time , what a unbelievable era to grow up in musically there was so much going on at the time , Peace from down under, by the way more Deep Purple please and great reaction you two.
Thanks for the reaction. One of my favourite guitar solos of all time!
That's what I call perfection, Purple rules
"In Rock" was the first album I ever bought when it came out; I was 10 and saw them live with Free and Manfred Mann a year later (my mum was a night nurse but let me go on my own; how many parents would allow that these days?).
Love this song. I got to play it, and Highway Star live on stage when I was in a cover band. Rock on!
Loved this dynamic, you and your daughter are awesome, keep making videos!
When I first heard Ian Gillan with Sabbath at Reading in 83 singing Iron Man I was totally blown away, he still does, what a talent.
Lineup here is the Mark II. There were different lineups of DP thru its history. Currently, Mark VIII is consisted of Ian Gillan, singer, Roger Glover, bass, Ian Paice, drums, Steve Morse, guitar, and Don Airey, keyboards. Morse and Airey are replacements for Ritchie Blackmore who left for his solo career and Late Jon Lord who died some years ago. Members of Deep Purple were inducted into Rock Hall in 2016.
I saw Purple live just before the pandemic. Music as great as ever. Ian can no longer hit the high notes. Not surprising given that he's in his mid-70s.
Impressed by the live concert footage matching the studio version. Synchhronised vocals perfectly.
Deep Purple simply great !👍👍😎
Glad your daugther likes it. MY favorite Number of all times. ❤️❤️❤️
He had to see her opinion before telling that things about her mom :0)
Last time saw Deep Purple 1972. Uriah Heep opened the show. Folks during the concert was so loud, intense folks start screaming, running to escape, into walls, seats, people. One's on LSD had no chance to escape. San Bernardino, Ca. This song fits so well to me serving overseas during the "Nam era.
This was inspired by a melody from the song, Bombay calling, by - Its a beautiful day, which had an Eastern European flavour to it.
This is possibly their best studio performance and IMO Ritchie Blackmore’s best guitar solo on record. They all played out of their skins on this. Purple don’t get their due. I saw them 6 weeks after they recorded Made in Japan ( live) 1972. I’ve yet to attend a better rock gig. No one could beat their virtuosity, passion and the sense of danger they generated on stage . Just jaw dropping ... and they are still producing No1 albums ... (“Whoosh!” - 2020)
Ian Paice, my drum tutor. "Hit it harder! You're being too nice on it, hit the f***ing thing!" "That's it! Faster, faster, F***ing harder and faster like that - that's it".
Yeah, next the Made In Japan version, which is the BEST version (in my opinion).
Yes!!! "The rule"
Oh great tune all there songs are brilliant I saw them live in Australia bloody amazing
All the top rock bands of this era were amazing. Thanks for posting.
Lucky enough to see Deep Purple mkII in 1985 with Ritchie Blackmore live....Jon Lord and Ian Paice play with Whitesnake in 1981 and Ian Gillan sing with Gillan in 1980.Amazing gigs.
Great reaction, as someone commented before, better watching dad than daughter because he was performing the same facial expressions as me while listening to this masterpiece. I'd reccomend her to watch the live version, and if possible to listen to the live version from the Live in Japan album. Ian Gillan's performance in that concert in particular is absolutely mindblowing.
Ian Gillan, the best rock vocalist ever!
By far..
You're bang-on with that statement!!
That cracked me up " your mum love the whole jammy section" Brilliant.
I couldn't tell you how long it has been since I heard the studio version of this, but man it still hits me just as hard.
Best hard rock song ever.
Beautiful Daughter you have senior!
“Speed King” is pretty close to metal. Lots of power and energy in it. Listen to the one with the guitar and organ intro. You won’t be disappointed. 🤘🏼
My kids 25 and 21 know all the classic rock albums and songs. Played them from the day they were born. They had no choice.
This song is just as great as Stairway to Heaven.
Opinions are like assholes, mine is that this is better.
True
Oh how wonderful persons both of you appear.
I remember when I heard this song and the Speed King in early 80's from vinyl, I think I was about 11-13.
They struck me then, and years have not made that much damage to those songs like some other.
Interesting thing about Deep Purple, their lead singer, Ian Gillian was Jesus on the 1971 JC Superstar #1 selling album
This song is one of the best songs ever recorded and it’s totally ignored by North America. It’s a shame. Deep Purples In Rock album definitely had mostly metal songs on it where you can see that many metal bands that came after got a lot of their inspiration. After In Rock I would say they were more of a hard rock band.
Is that really true ?
surely they were in the Led Z/Black Sabb late 1960's early 70's era.
@@keithbate9405 Purple had success North America with Hush. After that you heard nothing from them until Smoke on The Water. Now a days on classic rock radio you will hear Hush, Smoke, Highway Star and Woman From Tokyo. That’s it.
@@thetruthhurts6652 Interesting I am English and liked all three of LZ, BS and DP from around 1970. I think maybe DP were seen as slightly inferior to the other Two . Personally now I put DP alongside peak LZ ( 1970/72) and ahead of peak BS again around 1970/72. But all three are great bands and I don't think there has been any band since that I would call better. Louder yes but not better.
@@keithbate9405 Here nobody touched LZ for popularity. BS was slightly less popular than DP thanks to machinehead and MiJ. Thanks to Ozzy’s success in the 80s BS catapulted ahead of Purple.
Canadian here. Love me some Deep Purple. Just wish I had been able to see them back in the day.
SOmething in your face changed... You know what i mean!!!! ;)
Btw i had the privilege to watch Ian in a live concert before almost 20 years. He was awesome !
Well done.
Deep purple is hard rock with classical influences & blues.. this song has progressive rock elements and early metal before heavy metal was even a genre.. And I also would like to add that classic rock is not a genre the pathetic rock radio stations of today made it up.
To me this is the greatest of all songs that Deep Purple has done.
Good choiche 💕💕💕 The Holy Trinity : Deep Purple, Black Sabath and Led Zeplin 🐱👤👌👍
I would also like to see it the other way around. That your daughter takes you into her world of music. Maybe that is also an eye-opener for you and us.
the term HEAVY METAL did not appear until about the 1980s - but its influences are rooted in those 3 bands that include DEEP PURPLE.
Thank you, Daughter!
first : I like that you chose this version , because I think that´s the best of all !!! Second: that you played it through till the end -> I hate the interruption in other reactionvideos !! And third: I can´t stay still like you and not sing -> I mean Ian is singing " I wanna hear you sing " 🙂that´s an order I guess -> that´s been played on my funeral for sure ( I wrote it in my last will 🙂) this is simply one of the best songs ever in music!!!!!
Le meilleur morceau de deep purple tout y ai enormissime 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Its great how you two are interacting.. Its obvious that you love Deep Purple, buyt also how she really seems to get them, and engage with this track too.. Also, love the frankness between you two.. And the comments about mum ( in the other room!) I want to see you, with your good wife, review Rammstein 'Du Hast'!! : )
I saw Deep Purple 3 times in Chicago back in the day
This is the album version played over a video of DP playing it live to a studio audience!
The Made in Japan Version is absolutely the best. Although In Rock is my favorite Studio Album of all time. Purple Live just came out and kicked your ass.
Deep Purple's biggest song. Point & thanks for that
A mention for Ritchie blackmore the precursor of the neo classical shredder sweep picker
your daughter is intense and a watcher in life. She picks her own poison and she is a careful and awesome person. She will be a true person and friend in life. To have her friendship would be awesome. I'm glad you like good music.
the times of true rebels and genius
I absolutely Love this song but hated listening to it while watching your daughter,,, as it reminded me just how old I am...... Man how did I get this old,, but still, your daughter,,, Wow!
all the best heavy rock bands are british :O)
britishbanger vanilla fudge, grand funk railroad, just to name afew😊
Two words : Golden Earring
Black Sabbth, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd to name a few
@@patrickvangelder6943 One song; Radar Love !! (I'm kidding you :-) )
True
"If you've not been hit by flying lead, you'd better close your eyes and wait for the ricochette..."
My take on it, you survive the war and all of the flying lead, only to come home with tormenting demons and unsure of whether it was the world that has changed, or was it you that changed?
After surviving the flying lead, the demons eventually win...suicide by lead...or the "ricochette."
Great song with real meaning.
Your daughter is stunning, and you're a cool dad.
Kid THIS was made in the absolute CRADLE of metal. With these people, the fine folks comprising Uriah Heep, Sabbath, and even Mountain, you wouldn't have yer metal now. Bessides, there was REAL musicianship here, NOT JUST thrash and speed scales. These boys (and others of that musical generation), had talent.
child in time...unforghettable !
Duuuuuuuude the 1970's live performance Is so f#ckin amazing
Daughter is gorgeous 😍
footage has taken in Switzerland (CH sign at the cars)..... regards from Germany.
btw.... one of the greatest songs in music history.
Bestt keyboard all time
John lord... Rip
In 1977 driving around in my 1973 dodge charger with the 8track blasting.
Supposedly an anti war (Vietnam) song, best piece of music I've ever laid ears on, audio orgasmic⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love your video. If I had a daughter I'm pretty sure she would be subjected to the education. It's all good.
Saludos.
Absolutely no doubt who your daughter's Mum is! 🤘
I was two years old when this came out...which makes me ANCIENT. 👴
(OK - the dinosaurs had disappeared slightly before I was born.)
PageMonster ancient? Just a spring chicken! I was 17 when this came out. 67 now and still love my DP and Rainbow LOUD!
Yeah, you know the lyrics ..... my fav from "The Band" Deep Purple.
greeting from Germany
I was a 15 16 . Grabs now just like then 50years late. But good music stands the test of time.
Two tumbs up for Deep Purple!
Lovin' this from London UK Brother!
Musically based on Bombay Calling by "It's A Beautiful Day" who in turn reworked "Wring That Neck! for a song on their second album.
Love this song
A Masterpiece!!!
All Right/Good?....to one of the GREATEST Songs ever written.....ok.....
immortal
Child in Time from the Album "Made In Japan" is the best version out there and the album is the best album they ever made.
THE BEST BAND
That guy can sing!!
Ian Pace was one of the most underated drummers.
is, not was!
Dady felt the music and understand that meaning!
I like the live version even better! 💪
The live version is by far the superior one, not that this isn't amazing, but you really get Ian's screaming.
This video is made with the studio / album version. To get a better impact of this song watch the live version video from 1970. You won't be disappointed. 🤘🤘
Great reaction love the time period not a smart phone in sight kids looking where theyre going cool
Ian Gillan's favourite song
If some one don't know, in the middle section, before the lead guitar solo, all that tratata sound is the imitation of a machine gun, meaning shooting people!
Blind man shooting!
LOLOLOL..... I'm a dad about the same age as this guy...I wonder if I look as silly singing along to this as he does hehehehehe..but heyyy who cares??? it's a FABULOUS track!
ROCK AND ROLL !!!!!!!!!
Married to a metalhead is a great channel name lol
Don´t know if YOU know, but the studiocrowd back then had to be quiet because of their sound - it would´ve messed up the whole recording process :)
teach your children well....great organ from the Jon Lord
Bästa 10 min låten ever
Legendary song this one, too bad the video ended too soon! The final whistle was missing
Я надеюсь ты это переведешь через переводчик. Мы тут в России любим слушать не только альбомную версию Child In Time, не еще для нас более любима Child In time from "Made in Japan" Deep Purple LP. Taste It! Its coollest, than official! Greetings from Russia, have fun )
Proof of mother's koolness needed..
She must be your whole pride.....
