    Keeping in mind that this is not seamanship, it is racemanship. Seamanship is about being able to look at the weather in real time and make a good judgment (as opposed to "knowing") what is coming at you.

    "tuck it in and shake it out" - once more in English please. This video should be titled understanding Gulfstream weather for sailors.

      @CanadianTexaninLiguria It's about reducing sail area. Tuck in = reef the sail. Shaking out a reef means to increase sail area - going from 2nd to 1st, or 1st reef to full sail.
