JQ knife was basically nothing on enemy tanks due to the tank passive. It was useless but now it’s better. It was a joke before.
Yeah it was basically a high skill road hog hook. Roadhog doesn't just not pull tanks in because they have a passive.
I wish the wording in the patch notes was clearer.
The change is good but the notes should just say "ignores blah blah blah passive". It makes sense ONLY because JQ is a tank. The wording is flighty, like they don't have a good way that communicates their intent (as if they don't know what their intention is). Fortunately, the other patch notes were easier to understand, though some people pointed out inconsistencies on the Cassidy notes.
Now increase dooms knock back for tanks too. Pushing tanks out of position is a good percentage of what he does

The OW2 devs did what the old OW1 team was never willing to do: admit when a new ability isn't working out, revert to the old one, AND address that old ability's balance issues at the root instead of attempting to "indirectly" fix it via tweaking literally anything but the problem itself.
For as much as this balance team still gets wrong on occasion they are SO much better than the OW1 team
@@nowun6043OW1 team was coping without the 222 role lock. It was marketed as easy to learn, easy to play yet 222 became the playerbase standard (for the aesthetics and parity). So goats comps are running 303 leaving out the damage lineup and players are bickering that 222 "just makes sense" even though 132 comps were incredibly potent on ladder.
OW can't have so many competitive components and be as silly and carefree as splatoon. Old devs should've stuck to MMOs tbh.
If they're removing a damage ability shouldn't they increase his weapon damage? Flashbang is kinda the north side of useless at the normal level.
@@Agent_N7 He never needed help in that category to begin with, because Cole's peacekeeper has always dealt excellent damage.
Adding magnetic grenade on top of that was overkill to begin with, so removing it isn't going to hurt him.

Junker Queen's imo should've been that way since the beginning because it's basically how her gameplay is, you should be able to pull anyone no matter the role

So here's an idea I'd love to hear your thoughts on:
What if the role passives were all added as "stats" to all characters and tweakable individually? They already did it to Genji and Tracer as "hidden" movement speed stats, or on Sojourn, Widow and Kiriko on their crit multiplier, so why not on everything else? Same way as "health" is a stat that can be changed, or "armor" can be changed (or even 0'd), knockback resistance (for example) could be an individual stat.
I'm thinking about both existing stats, non-existing ones (such as jump height or something like that), or even some that were scrapped (like reload speed upon elimination). This could encompass healing reduction percentage, healing reduction duration, knockback resistance, headshot mitigation percentage, time to proc self-heal, proportion to max hp for self heal, movement speed, crit multiplier, ...
This could help giving more tools for balancing, and even (IMO, the most important thing) help making heroes more unique and different from their counterparts. Downside is that the game would be more complex and difficult to track scenarios, but to me this is kinda what makes having a big roster of heroes fun!

It looks more like a flashbang ability than the old FB did. Not a very realistic flashbang, mind you. But it does flash more than it bangs (like the old one). Doesn't feel too bad to play into yet.
Ive always hated mag grenade. In mccree vs tracer, there would be many times where I would blink away from mag grenade only for it to continue tracking to me, takes half my health, and takes away all my abilities. It makes it inconsistent and unpredictable to deal with. When flashbang was still around, it at least made the encounter more cut and dry, either I dodge the flashbang or dont.
Are you burnt out on making these? I’m not blaming you or calling you out but are you happy with the state of overwatch right now?

Honestly, as a Kiriko player, it never made sense I could instantly shut down Rien's ultimate with E when that's an ultimate, and it takes somebody like LW 2 whole abilities to do half of that shutdown.
LW's platform can shutdown multiple ults too like Zarya and Orisa.

@@SweetTaleTellerthe life grip on pulse is fine imo bc pulse charges really quick and is single target. As a rein gettin a 3 man slam only for Kiri to completely negate it hurts more than when I play tracer and a pulse is cancelled.
@@Lol-zw8ks Ya, I always thought it was a little silly that Rien's Shatter counted as a status effect. Rien's ult is hard enough to land as it is you shouldn't be able to shut it down with E.
mei will become a sleeper pick. Being able to two tap is huge. 170 headshot damage hits hard.
If Roadhog is allowed to pull an enemy tank way tf out of position, then Junkerqueen should at least move the enemy tank the same distance she does to everyone else.
That booster buff on dva is actually huge

Idk how you think soj didn’t need the nerf. Small hitbox for her body, massive rail gun hit box and high damage while being able to use a movement ability and shoot at the same time, charges up fast, legit better then widow in most maps. She is so hard to 1v1 and you can have your eyes closed while shooting her rail gun. She was the new “swap to bastion to win” character

They should reduce the cooldown on Illari’s destroyed pylon by 2-3 seconds
Yes cause if they even look at it auto 15sec cool down. Or even if they hit it once boom 35sec cool down
I hate mfs playing easter egg hunt with my pylon, i focus the first person who breaks mine in a match to oblivion. Same if im dps and see someone focusing to break my teammate Illaris pylon💋👺

Dude, the fire rate,perma pierce and boost to charge is crazy.
The headshot damage is reduced from 195 to 150. The pierce doesn’t come up often really. The buff to primary is good. And now Ult is cracked.

The og flashbang was good and then the mag was alright and this pocket sand sucks
1. JQ changes: JQ is the tank i play most. The tank role passive basically made her knife useless against tanks, this is a very good change IMO.
2. Cassidy nade: My problem with mag nade is the lack of counterplay. Old flashbang let you dodge, if you were the better player you could juke the flashbang and survive. Mag nade would completely change directions and follow you all the way into your next match. There was very little counterplay or skill involved, and thus, it was very unfun to play against. I haven't played with the newest iteration yet but it seems like a step in the right direction.
3. Soj changes: Sojourn's one shot has always seemed to be the most frustrating one in the game to me. You can position to break widow LOS, hanzo arrows are incosistent, and perhaps most importantly there's a movement penalty involved with those characters. Sojourn was a flying Widowmaker that doesnt need to stand there scoped in and vulnerable while they line up their shot. Rail gun has a large hitbox and did too much damage for what it was. It was always my biggest complaint about the hero and im glad they're finally doing something more substantial. More often but less damage is much preferable in my eyes.
Been wanting them to give Dva her 25 booster damage back since they took it away in S2-S3
The only reason they added the knock back resistance was because of Lucio boop
I'm guessing they nerfed Hog's health because some teams can effectively make him immortal.
(edit:) we need to start calling Blizzard out on micro buffing Orisa. It already happened once where she was slowly buffed into a monster and they had to hard nerf it back to basics. They need to get on top of whoever is doing this, because it really feels like the deliberate work of one team member who secretly mains the character and doesn't care how long it takes to make her OP again.
healing pylon getting extra health is ridiculous. not only can you place it in a high place behind a chokepoint where it's hard to reach, but now it's harder to kill once you finally do reach it?? what are they smoking
I mean there's a ton of ways to nuke that pylon if you wanna be really cheesy about it you can just play sombra and sneak behind to crush the pylon

my thoughts on jagged blade is they want it to feel slightly more like hog's hook, but they cant apply across the roster cuz non tanks would get yeeted im guessing
That pylon health buff is gonna be so annoying to deal with (hoping the dps passive is enough to compensate).
Also, isn't the Reaper buff just reverting the spread nerf they gave him at the start of OW2? For those that weren't around for the end of OW1, Reaper's shotguns had a tight spread that was great to the point of making him a decent duelist against squishy targets (like Tracer), but still not in the same league as Cassidy, Soldier, etc.
You might think the 10% doesnt affect roadhog. Youre sorely mistaken that will kill the character

For me, the fix to Queen’s pullback seems perfectly fine. Otherwise, they might as well reduce the distance Rein’s charge can push another tank backwards if we’re going to keep things “fair”.

Why did they not turn wraith form into what the cinematic with Winston showed plus make it do poison damage over time to enemies he pass through?
They said they're considering a Reaper rework but the implementation takes some time. Looks like the poison effect will be tested in the experimental card.

As a Ball main I would literally just be happy with either a slight buff to his cannon damage or keep the cannon spread tight instead of it getting wider. (Oh and delete sombra or for her hack to not be ready to use every 3 fkng seconds)

Because hog can pull you like 10metres and the jq knife used to pull normal range until nothing. It was a rework jq needed because can't pulling someone with knife is just sad so thank you

This is by far the worst take iteration of Mcree’s grenade yet the stunned effect was good the grenade murdered tanks and now it barely stops things like a genji’s deflect

Freedo, I appreciate the facts based updates lack of drama from you. I don’t really play the game much but I like to keep up with updates and you are the best.
I think the problem with queens jagged blade is the interaction it has on steps. If you pull a target while they are steps or a pretty decent slope they ain't going anywhere. And yea, you don't really want to hit tanks with the blade most of the times but it can be useful to displace them in certain situations. Overall the queen buffs are meh imo. It doesn't solve her main issue of having to fight like hell to get in.
is the new rein hammer not implemented yet? i cant find it in the mythic shop or in his customization options.

Cassidy main from OW2 season 1, i liked the magnetic gernade alot more. While the stun on movement abilities was way to good i have to be in the persons face to actually nade them and that still barley dose anything 😢

8:55 A better question is why was a character with a good hit box, superior mobilty, and easy follow-up allowed to do 78% of a standard characters health after season 9 changes?
I get the idea of the compensation buff for Sojourn, but a part of it is a little over board when the nerfed headshot rails can two tap most of the cast.
I'm fine with characters like Widow and Hazo having a one-shot because they don't have all the benefits Sojourn's kit brings.

I never understood why one-shots were hated so much. It’s a first person SHOOTER. You should be rewarded for being skilled at the game. Hitting a headshot with a sniper and having them live feels awful
I’m hoping they nerf Sombra next update. I mean a character that can turn invisible, gain movement speed while invisible, hack you so no abilities, gain a damage boost when enemies are hacked and have a free get out of jail card being her translocater. I mean playing Zen or Lucio when she’s around is so unfair.

Kriko's swift step nerf is much needed. Having a hero with high heals, high damage and high utility with a get out of jail free card was too much. i think the 1 second will be a break point in many fights.
DVA buff seems unnecessary, but I ain’t complaining lol gonna be a fun season for me😂

You can actually evade forms of damage and run people down a bit which feels great because it already is a very terrifying ability damage wise now it can chase a bit making that damage even nore terrifying since avoiding is harder
The dva buffs and mei buffs are the only ones I like.

Light but honestly been feeling pretty good I'd prefer this style but more often so we can feel out some of these changes and how they settle before jumbling the meta again with huge changes

It’s not fun that cassidy’s magnade seeks the target… but it is fun that the stupid moira’s orb bounces all over the map and can get a kill with no skill needed :)? This, besides the fact that moiras has an auto-aim with a ridiculous engage distance 👍

Orisa was hard as hell to kill before, still is, hog is hog, Cass feels so damn bad now its crazy, sojourn dumpstered, QoL for reaper, illari QoL healing buffs, kiri suzu nerf no hard cc's invul.
