Loved the second shot at Elgol Karl the detail of the foreground rocks and the barnacles was great but the light on the Cuillins was magnificent. The Fairy Pool shot was terrific nice bit of interest in the water shutter spot on for the falls and you got a little colour in the sky I also liked the boulder in the midground helped break up the expanse of white in the background which is awesome.
Hi Karl, this was so amazing to watch. After we met in your Shop I headed over to the Isle of Skye and the Fairy Pools were the last destination on my list. Unfortunately, I had a puncture 4 miles before I reached the destination and had to wait 2 hours for help. After that there was no time for me to going up the path to the pools. Next time again. The Shot from Elgol is fantastic, really loved that one.
Looking forward to this series Karl. After 2 years of waiting I managed to shoot on Skye for the first time in March this year but water levels were low everywhere (e.g Fairy Pools) and Elgol was low tide on a blue sky day so got rather frustrated. Quiraing is definitely something else and even met a certain Mr gary Gough one morning! I'm heading back in March 2023 so hoping to pick up some tips. I'd love to do winter trips up to Glencoe & Skye but without a 4WD I definitely worry about skidding/getting stuck.
Nice video Karl! Subscribed, we're that couple you bumped into on the way back across the beach at Elgol! I remember thinking how are you dancing over those rocks so easily and then saw you had some decent hench boots on! Great photos, amazing up there isn't it!
Stunning shot's again, I love Elgol, it's provided me with my most successful image, can't wait till Tuesday the 20th when we will be heading up to Torridon for our Christmas break.
We're currently planning a trip to the Isle of Skye in March so I thoroughly enjoyed this vlog and looking forward to Part 2 we just need to decide where to base ourselves 🤔 😁
Very hard to pick a favourite, all images were stunning, I agree with you Its the greatest place in the World to Photograph, I was on Sky for two weeks in October and got some nice shots but it was very windy at times, gale force on occasions, look forward to episodes Two and Three, best wishes.
Wow, what a trip. Been on that dodgy road to Elgol in October last year but couldn't get out of the car because it was raining so much. Admire your courage in doing the trip at this time of the year. Love all the photos especially at the fairy pool. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Hey Derek. Thanks for that. I didn’t go to the waterfall so thanks for suggesting that. I will return so will pop on down. To be honest the road was terrible and I was happy to park up😂😂
The photo from Egol was amazing and so was the Fairy Pools - it is still beautiful given the light. Superb Karl
Great photos Karl. Great to see your dog back out again.

I’m officially campervan jealous😂, what a super road trip to start with topped off by catching some beautiful shots!!
Great stuff Karl👍🏻📸
Thanks Stuart, the van was brilliant, glad you liked the pics
Like Steve I was at these locations in March 2022 - no rain and less drama in the skies, but I really shouldn't moan - 100% Exquisite
