It's the Walmart greeter of scotch. Perfect for if your just walking in the door and don't know what or where to look at.

I'm a beginner with seven bottles now. Glenmorangie Cadboll Estate is the only one I've purchased twice. So far Glenmorangie is top dog in my house. Hope you're feeling better Bart.

This one is tops for me for your younger single malts. I haven't tried a ton of them but so far, I like it most, and it's priced right.

Best scotch under $30 here in California, $28.99. Balvenie 12 is still my favorite "entry level" for a scotch noob to try, but on the cheap you can't beat GlenMo! It's got some pop, light honey and vanilla, decent mouth feel and finish. A less complex Balvenie 12...? Great "Back to Basics" guys, Cheers!

My first ever single malt a long time ago - will always have a soft spot for Glenmorangie especially the 10 year old

Cheers for the review guys. Glenmorangie 10 is something I haven't tried, so will need to add a bottle of that to the collection and give it a shot.

Had a friend, Bill the Scott, would bring a case or two of Glenmorangie 16 from his visits back home. He said you never find it in the US because they drink it all in Scotland... and left a bottle! It was wonderful and you know, I've never found it here.

We went a cruise to Bermuda in summer 2019. Had a drinks package. Was working my way through the free whisky list. Had a couple ho hum ones (Crown Royal, Seagrams 7, JW Red). Then I landed on the GlenMo 10. The experiment stopped and drank this all week (in moderation of course). I’ve had it before on many occasions, but it had been awhile. Damn good everyday dram. Crisp and clean as you both said. Liquid honey and fruit!
If you’re into gelato, it’s like the panna flavor (sweet cream essentially), which is the base for all gelato. GlenMo Original is like Panna. The I’m building block for everything GlenMo. Great stuff! Great review, Guys!

The Glenmorangie 10 is my go to when it's on offer in the supermarket. Of the whiskies you've done so far, I think this one is the best bang for your buck, especially for new whisky drinkers. The Glenfiddich 15 year old solera is a great whisky to progress to or The Balvenie 12 or 14 year old 'Caribbean Cask' which is delicious.Great series guys!.P.S. If you guys had 'Scotch Test Dummies' themed tams they would sell pretty well.

My first thought when I saw you were doing this whisky was, "I wonder how they will pronounce it." When Bart pronounced it it, I wasn't expecting the dog bark. Nice touch - "WOOF!"

I really like the fact that the both of you score drinks according to how you feel them than according to other people's standards. When I check sites like whiskybase I realize that some people score whiskeys with the fear of not being respected as whiskey connoisseurs if they score higher.

Cracked open the Glenmorangie "A Tale of Cake", new limited edition, last night. I enjoyed it. It is suppose to share the flavors of a pineapple upside down cake. From the neck pour I did not get the tropical fruit, but boy did I get the rest of the cake! Really fun.
Big Glenmorangie 10 fan, I need to drink it more often.

This basic scotch was my second favorite out of the Glenmorangie 4 bottle sampler pack. I do like the Quinta Ruban port finished more. Around here the 10 year is $35 and the QR 14 is $55. CHEERS!!

This series rocks! Glenmorangie 10 is my favorite of the three "Glens" (Glenfiddich 12/Glenlivet 12/Glenmorangie 10). All three are solid, but the Glenmo feels the most musty barley authentic to me. Keep up the great work! Cheers!

Recommend 2 or 3 scotches for a newbie to scotch. Drink a little bourbon. Thinking glenmorangie, highland park 12, balvenie doublewood... what's your thoughts?

    • @ScotchTestDummies

Amazing after I switched from a bourbon drinker over to a scotch drinker this was about the 8th or 9th scotch I've tried and wasn't as impressed as I was with say Highland Park 12 or Ardbeg 10 which are much different scotch's but more in my flavor profile.

So I've compared a lot of these easier to get, budgetish types of single malts, and so far it's my favorite. I go Glenmorangie 10 1st, GlenGrant 12 2nd, and maybe a tie between Glenlivet 12, and Glenfiddich 12 depending on if I'm in the mood for a sweeter (Glenfiddich) or not sweet (Glenlivet) dram. I don't know if the ABV is influencing the taste choice, as the 2 40%ers are last place? Bart is so good at being different, he should teach a class.🤘

Back to the basics or beginners stuff is an insult to this amazing whiskey! After you finish drinking, keep the empty glass handy and keep on sniffing! Never ending intoxicating aromas even in an empty glass. You don't need to spend $300 and call it an expert stuff.

It a pass for me. It's not terrible but I didn't find it enjoyable. The only one of their core four that I thought was above decent is the Quinta Ruban 12. I didn't like the Lasanta and thought the Nectar d'Or was complete garbage at it's price point.
