    Josh, absolutely stunning pro practice video for this piece. It was a great idea to play the whole piece in the end. i've struggled with my left hand for a while now so this was the perfect help for me. Definitively agree about Trifonov, I mean..that passion is absolutely unique. Still, I think Gryaznov does the best overall performance of all the etudes on youtube.

    My index finger does not fit (or fits with difficulty) on the G key between the F # and G # keys. How to train it? NB, recently I noticed that the distance between C # and D # is slightly larger than between F # and G # , and also G # a A #.

    how advanced is this piece?

    • @adurx97
      @adurx97 7 років тому +17

      It is advanced, no question. But in my opinion it sounds much harder than it actually is. I just started playing it and I get along quite well. Practise like Josh explained in chords first instead of the Arpeggios. Without wanting to advertise anyone, for another approach to the piece, search for the guide on this piece from Paul Barton (he talks about practicing techniques and tries to take away the fear from this beast). But in the end it always depends on you. Just try it out and see how it fits. If you have never practised arpeggios it might not be the easiest, but the worst that can happen is that you learn more about arpeggios right? ;)
