    I can’t even imagine being in that situation but to have the option to go to a cooling shelter that is unbelievably amazing. Highest temperature recorded during the dust bowl is reported to be 108°F

    Yes it’s a hot summer. I’m in Southern California so we’re use to this kind of desert heat but hopefully, it’s not a trend we’ll be seeing every year. Maybe it’s just one of those freaky weather patterns that happens every once in a blue moon. I suggest everyone starts upgrading their homes with AC now and especially once this heat wave dies down.

      You are playing it down because you don't want to face facts. Climate change is real and very dangerous. When our food and water supplies are substantially diminished you will wake up to reality.

      Staying inside doesn’t resolve the issue, very few people in the Northwest have air conditioning. So the temps inside are the same as outside.

    This guy is wrong! Here in Tri-Cities, WA still forecasted for 117° today, 111° tomorrow and 110° Thursday! The Heat "dome" did Not magically disappear overnight! It's still going strong!!!🔥🥵🔥

      That's really not bad... In Texas and Oklahoma we've seen those temp go on for months.
      Treat it as a blizzard.
      Stay home. Don't open your fridge.
      Cover windows... With wet towels.

      When Texas and southwest had the 100 year old winter storm..
      Cows and other lifestock ears were falling off.
      The system was pushed to limit because ranchers were blowing hot air or trying to heat up barns on massive scale.

    Can you imagine if some folks get their way and, like in CA, all internal combustion engines are outlawed by 2035, what the demand on the power grid will be?
    It'll be a choice between cars or A/C.

      @@toddlavigne6441 The state where I live is on a 7 year streak without triple digit temps which is a state record and before that it was a 5 year streak which was a record. Global warming creates ice ages and ice ages create global warming funny how that works.

I think anyone with a brain realizes we need to be very careful and be working full speed towards renewables.     This explains all the fires we have been having each summer in California. The lakes have all dropped by 36% or more. The atmosphere is trapping in heat and getting worse each year.

      What have lowering lake levels got tot do with fire? Heat is only one leg of the "Fire Triangle". Try neglect and poor management, the solutions are there. Yet another reason for the Feds to divest themselves of lands they cannot/ will not manage.
