    Finally! One of the very few (if not only) detailers to rinse the prefoam. It astounds me how most will prefoam soak and then take their perfectly clean wash towels and solution over the dirty prefoam. Unbelievable.

      I've just had a quote from a high quality detailler in the UK for my matte painted AMG and it's cheaper, half the cost of a gloss painted car as there is no requirement to fully machine polish and paint correct the panels before adding the ceramic protection

    Awesome video, Chris!
    If I may add something, I have found that if you are using AdvanceCoat Matte on matte vinyl or paint protection film, the ideal way to apply it is to spray 1-2 sprays into a microfiber applicator and evenly apply to a section in the same manner as if you were applying matte paint coating, just without the water. Then take a pearl weave microfiber towel and level it, followed by a second microfiber towel for a final buff. Due to its much more porous nature than paint, this allows for even coverage with zero high spots. The finish you get will look like you just coated your paint again and is extremely smooth feeling. Hope this can help anyone out there!

    In the video you show the 2 ways to apply the ceramic coating, and left it wet. How do you wipe it off? Do you just use a micro fiber cloth and gently buff off, the same as the other applications?

    Environmental factors play a huge role. Higher humidity = faster cure time
    Arid climate = slower cure time
    Generally, keep it dry for 1-2 days and “hands off” for 2 weeks and you are all good. After a few days it can get wet without worry. Just no touching for 2 weeks.

      Matte Final Finish and Matte Body Wash will need to be part of your arsenal. Since you're going with matte film, however, we'd recommend going with our Film Cleanser instead of Matte Paint Cleanser. It's better formulated for film surfaces as opposed to paint.

    Matte finish can be cleaned very effectivly without damaging the finish with dawn dish soap. Been doing it for years. no damage whatsoever. They want to sell you expensive product you don't need. No wax in your soap high plus 7 ph akaline and use a two bucket system so you dont rub grit into it as if you scratch it you can't buff the clear coat cause there isn't one.

    • @345detailing4
      @345detailing4 3 місяці тому

      There is absolutely a clear coat, sir. It’s a matte clear coat. You may maintain your finish how you please but please do not misguide people by stating things that are false. This is how so much damage is done to modern paint systems.

    With matte paint isn't there a specific way to rub the towel? I heard that using a circular motion could cause issues long term

    • @MikePhillips-Dr.Beasleys
      @MikePhillips-Dr.Beasleys 18 днів тому +1

      Good question, here's the technically correct answer. ASSUMING the microfiber towels you're using are UN-contaminated, then the towel should NOT be scratching or marring the paint. Thus, it wouldn't matter which direction you rub.
      If the towel is contaminated, and in my experience, most the towels I've seen in other people's towel collection ARE contaminated, then it's still kind of a moot point because a contaminated towel will put scratches no matter what direction you move the towel over the paint. Wipe in straight lines, you get straight line scratches. Wipe in overlapping circular motions - you get circular scratches.
      This is why I practice and preach to ALWAYS pre-inspect your microfiber tools, including,
      * 1: Microfiber Wash Mitts*
      * 2: Microfiber Drying Towels*
      *3: Microfiber Wiping Towels*
      This is the most important thing you can do to maintain a swirls and scratch-free finish on ANY type of paint be it matte or glossy.
      Make sense? I just wrote a brand-new article on this topic and shot a brand-new video just this last Saturday. The article shows me washing and inspecting my Chenille Microfiber Wash Mitts and the Rag Company Gauntlet microfiber drying towel, but the same thing you use in the pictures applies to inspecting your microfiber towels when they come out of the dryer.

    Great info! When applying the matte paint coating, I understand you should avoid getting it wet for a week. But how strict should I be? If I keep it dry for five days and drive in the rain on the sixth am I ok?

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  Рік тому +1

      Avoiding wetting is a precaution taken to ensure the coating properly cures - contaminants in water can disrupt the cross linking process. Generally speaking, the longer you can keep the vehicle dry, the better. That being said, applying a sacrificial layer with our maintenance spray AdvanceCoat: Matte can provide protection against wetting during the first week if wetting is completely unavoidable.

    I have a Kia Sonet Xline Matte Finish. I live in Goa so its really hot and humid, plus the services for paint protection is definitely not up to par with what high quality services provide. Should I get my car ceramic coated, PPFed or something else? Or should I just maintain the car really really well?

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  11 місяців тому +1

    I like to use a foam sprayer attached to my pressure washer to clean my car. I know the matte body wash is recommended at a dilution of 2 caps per gallon. But what about for a 1000 ml bottle used in this way?

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  Рік тому

      Great question! If you take the gallon ratio and apply that to a 1000ml bottle, that should come out to just over .25 oz, or half a capful. That ratio may vary in practice, however.

    Very nice video. I have a question that I have yet to find an answer to. I have a matte black paint on my vehicle, and my dog enjoys going everywhere with me. As a result, there is dog drool on the paint of my rear doors. I have tried everything to get the drool marks off, but nothing seems to work. It essentially looks like drips of wax (shiny spots) randomly accross the doors paint. Do you have any suggestions on how to get it off? Thank you in advance for any suggestions that you may have for me to try.

      It depends on how bonded the spots are. Newer water spots can often be removed with a gentle detailing spray like our Matte Final Finish product. More stubborn spots however may require a more aggressive solution like our Water Spot Remover.
