    Tip: Put the nuts onto the bolt before you cut - this way when you remove the nut after the cut it straightens out the threads for you :)

    A quick thought re grinding. The sparks are little blobs of near molten metal. When grinding don't let the sparks go to on your vehicle/house sreenwindow it can/will melt into it
    The first you know is shredded wiper blades or the spatter rusting :)

    I never thought about axle spacers.
    I had to unwillingly install 2.5" aluminum spacers on all 4 wheels, because i went up to 18" rims on my Focus and the 4 bolt pattern wouldn't match, so i used adapter pattern spacers.
    Now the stance is amazing, but the ride comfort definitely suffered, even though i went with the beefiest tire i could fit (or rather gently rub against the frame)
    I wish there was a simple solution for the front also, i would definitely move away from spacers, even though i had the spacers on for almost 2 years and they are perfectly ok, that is because they were custom made in the USA and not in a far away land lol

      Yep, spacers can work great, as long as you get good ones - which sounds like you did!

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  2 роки тому +1

      Hi mate, thanks for your question. Since I don't have a wagon I'm not 100% sure. But this is the company I bought the spacers from - maybe send them an email to ask the question: moto-cnc.com/ford-focus-rs-mk1-20mm-billet-spacer-kit-rear-axle-handling-upgrade-uk-made

    I've installed this motocnc spacer onto my 2002 Turnier.
    After a precise front-rear wheel alignment and two weeks of test rides, I have to tell you: it DOES worth every penny.

    Interesting about the rally heritage, I didn’t know that. When I bought mine I did notice that it turned differently to my previous cars. Did these end up making a difference to the handling?

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, they have a deep rally background, McRae used to drive them as well - there are quite a few road cars in the UK with rally paint jobs actually. In terms of handling, I can't say I've noticed a big difference, but that's mostly because I don't push the car very hard. I do know for a fact though that the guys who race these in the UK often do this mod for handling reasons. For me, I wanted the awkward gap in the rear arches to disappear.

    Your better to hit the rotor between the studs as that is where they get stuck and you can bend a rotor other wise

    The car looks awesome. I want to do the same for my mk1. One question , did you put spacers on front wheels too? Do you need to? Will it look better? I think all four wheels should be the same

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Christos, don't worry about spacers for the front, the wheels sit pretty flush at the front already. Also because your front wheels do the steering you probably should avoid it anyway. Just do it at the back to fix the stance there. 👍

      get yourself an SCT tuner, It always boggled my mind that they gave automatic focus's in the states an RPM gauge, but the manual versions don't have one - super wierd, but I always know about where I am by sound. But with the SCT tuner, I have the battery voltage and RPM's displayed, and you can mount it almost anywhere.

    Cant wait too see the car lowered . What will you use? Lowering springs?

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  4 роки тому

      Hey RyNeX L - I'm tossing up between lowering springs and coilovers... I need some rear shock as well as the ones on the car are old, so will have to weigh things up. I don't want to be like everyone else and just immediately buy some coilovers and be done, but if the costs are close I may just do that. At least that way I have adjustability later on. What would you prefer to see?
