Almost 20 years old, studying statistics hoping for a great career when I get older. Looking to get a Lexus LC500. My parents see it as an old grandpa car, but I see it being unique for a kid in his 20s owning one. It’s a bit pricey but if it’s too much, then the RC-F is next in line.
I am 21 and constantly (everyday) am wanting to buy a 2018 bmw m3 cs or bmw m4 but then there is this thought that goes deeper about wanting to buy a house soon. it sucks but I am going to buy a house before I ever get a dream car, and I know that after I buy my house, the chances of me ever getting my dream car are going to be slim to none.

Right now I drive and own a 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker and I love it. I’ve had her for 10 years now and I’ve been looking for a new car. I’ll will keep the Challenger, she is a keeper. My dream car has always been the Audi R8 (2008-2011 model year, V8 or V10, doesn’t matter to me). Ever since I saw it on both Transformers 2 and Iron Man, I feel in-love with it ever since. Finding a really nice well condition one is not hard but for the same money, I can also get a new C8 Vette, and that is my 2nd dream car. My father almost bought both a C5 (when the C5’s were new at the time) and a C8 back in 2020. Because of that, I’ve also been wanting to own a Vette. If I get either or, I will still be happy with my choice. My 3rd dream car is a tie between 2 cars, both are WAAAAY out of reach, and it’s the Agera and LFA. If for somehow I win big money, I can try and get either or, but a person can dream right?
Ultimate dream car -> Tie between Porsche Taycan Turbo S CT and 911 Turbo Spyder More realistic dream car -> Mazda Miata I’m actually quite close to being able to buy a Miata and I am very excited to get one.
I have a pretty solid list of dream cars. Doug has reviewed 2 of them, Shmeee did the other. One per decade: The 80's: Vector W8. So jealous when Doug did this one. I grew up with the poster on my wall. I did, very fortunately get to sit in one at the Blackhawk Concourse D'elegance in Danville in the very early 90's. The most awesome looking car of the 80's hands down. And the tech was unreal. Child's play by today's standards, but was out of this world in the 80's. Fighter aircraft tech? Check. My mom was considering buying a used Rolls owned by Loni Anderson there, but they wanted a 20% premium just for that fact, so she passed. This was during the '92 recession, so used cars were relatively cheap. The 90's: Jaguar XJ220. Simply the most beautiful sports car that was ever made, especially the Concept LWB V12. 2000's: The Aston One-77. A hair behind the XJ220 in looks, this was the most beautiful Aston ever created, DB5 included. However the, car I would want now (getting to be an old duffer), is not available at any price: The Maybach 6 Cabrio Concept. Just elegance through and through. I was SO hoping this would get to production, but then stupid Covid hit.
After reading this ur gonna make me start a long session of online car shopping and looking at cars I can't afford lol. Those are some insane dream cars.
3 months ago I got my first car at 17, a 2013 Audi A4 w/ 6 speed manual. It's not the fastest car nor was it necessarily my dream car. But for how much I love the car, I think at this point, my dream car would be an S4, or even RS4. It's not the craziest dream car. But realistically, I think within the next few years it's something I could reasonably attain.
My dream car is a 2017-19 Mercedes e63s 4matic+ with a panoramic sunroof and amg bucket seats. I'm 18, currently going through pilot school, I'm relying on my future career to pay for it 🤞
Im about to turn 19, and my dream car is a late 60s 4 door hardtop chevy impala In terms of classic cars, they seem to be one of the most attainable for a decent price, and they are popular enough where there are lots of aftermarket parts for them, and they are gorgeous Whether i will actually be able to get one or not, im not sure, but it is something i hope i will eventually be able to afford If i cant get that, a more modern car i would like thats reasonably attainable would be a 2000s dodge magnum Nice big muscle car with a nice look, and near infinite practicality
I love cars and trucks as a whole, they’re really cool in general! But my dream car of all time is a 2016 Toyota Tundra Limited Crewmax. It was a big part of my childhood and fun to be in! Not to mention that the car is just reliable, looks nice, and pretty damn fast for a truck (The 2016 tundra can do 305 to 381 Horsepower!). As much as I love super cars, hyper cars, and just cool and fast cars in general, that truck just makes me want to have it! RN I am driving a pilot and really grateful for it! But I just cannot wait to get myself that truck one day! My second and third dream cars are: a 2018 Camaro Zl1, and a 1994 MK4 Supra (lil odd dream 3 car garage but whatever lmao) Cool video dude! Good advice!
Nissan Skyline Make $21.80 saving money for the down payment at the moment I have a Good credit score. I finished paying my daily. Moving to my second car.
My dream car is a 6th Gen Chevy Camaro with a manual transmission, A V8 engine, a convertible top, and a rapid blue model. I'm 18 and my goal is to buy one at 21.
Nissan GTR and C8 Corvette definitely should've been mentioned for that 80k-120k range considering they both out perform most that cost nearly 200k in a higher bracket. Yes the GTR is old and yes it's a Nissan and Yes the C8 is American, but a V10 R8 cannot keep up with those two especially for those prices. Only one that does is a 911 Carrera S.
Dream car is a hellcat challenger. saving to pay it off fully. I’m gonna pay in full a 300s for 10k first and uses that for a few years. Planning to save 15-20k of my income (career in law enforcement) my goal is to have it by 25 (I just turned 22 recently.
I bought my Wrx 3 years ago, but I've got an itch for a gt350 that I just can't shake. bought it when I lived with my parents, and now I'm moved in with my girlfriend and we **think** we should be taking home at least 200k next year. currently saving up for a hefty down payment like I did with this car, I've got my eyes set on the prize
I would say the better way is to save up and buy cash when you're young. Live at home, and save every penny for a few years, invest it then get a great cash deal when you have enough. If you finance, you'll pay $8000 to 10 grand in interest to the bank. So cash and private sale negotiation is where you want to be. This was how I afforded my 2005 350Zin 2007, then a BMW 335i that was a couple years old.
My dream car is an 1st gen R8 V8 or V10 depending on spec. My favorite model of the R8, and i can probably get a good deal on it. I want to have it before 30, but.. we'll see. Although i dont mind the new Toyota GR86 to hold me over, i like that as well haha.
@@ProfessorDrives maybe in the future but as of right now I’m thinking of a C5 Z06, because I wanna drive manual. My parents and other relatives know how to drive manual, and I’m just trying to carry on the tradition so I can pass it on to my own children in the future
I feel like I have a dream car for every category 😭 10-20k: 370z 20-40k: 2ss or manual 440i/240i 40-60k: manual mk5 supra or manual F87 M2 comp 60-80k: C7 80-120k: R8 or R35 GTR 200k+: svj Too much: koenigsegg chimera or any koenigsegg
I dont even have a Dreamcar, at least a modern one. But i want to buy a C3 Corvette at one point and learn to tinker on it and create a Car i love. Problem is, i am German, so there are few C3s, even fewer manuals and a lot of them probably have issues, also there are a lot of requirements for them to be considered historic, what i want, to first of all reduce tax and second it looks nice on the License Plate.
My head says Lexus LC500 but my heart says Maserati Gran Turismo... Thanks for the informative video! Glad to see you out here living your best life c:
17 years old bought an FRS for 15k haven’t had trouble with payments I’ve even been able to get a $1k catback and a couple other smaller mods. Will be payed off in 1.5 years if I lock in. If not the payments will take me to 4.5 years.
Being a finance nerd and a car guy is basically a contradiction lmao. I’m in the same boat brother. I make great money and want a Porsche but I simply can’t justify it. My GF says I should reward my hard work but to me that’s money I could use to buy an *overpriced* house. But I also feel like I’ll worry to the point that I’ll never get what I want until I’m much older (I’m 26 atm)
@@ProfessorDrives my current plan is to continue to save for retirement and in parallel have a “large purchase fund”. When I turn 30 I’ll reevaluate my goals and use some of that fund to either pay cash for the car (used one ofc) or put down a significant down payment like 75%
a top tier dream car would be a Porsche 911 997.1 or .2 targa its a top tier car and i love its quirks and features and ususaly retail around 46~70k eur but i hope to buy it before 30
My #1 dream car is a 991-992 911 turbo s, one of my attainable dream cars for my age ( I’m 20) is definitely a g20 m340i… although an f30 340i would do just fine as well😂 I hope to have either one once I pay a chunk of my current a3 loan off and get a full time job
If I should buy it or not doesn't matter, I *can't* buy it. I'm focusing on school more than getting a job, but I am waiting for an answer for a job. School isn't going top either...
i used to drive one of these and ngl seeing the 13.8MPG was actually not bad considering how i drove it- amazingly you can actually get like 25-28 highway if you really try but its just impossible to resist. feelsbad i had to sell it cuz i wanted something cheaper to own so i now have a g37 convertible, but its amazing as well and ima keep it while i build myself up until i get another of these
@@ProfessorDrives most expensive thing was a thermostat needed to be replaced, bout 1100 by an independent- also did belts for a few added hundred, though it was at like 106k miles so im not surprised
I bought a c6 z06 at 21 and two years later I still don’t regret it. My “dream” car would have to be a manual zonda or f1 gtr so I def can’t afford it lol. I love my z though nothing could replace it
Last year I was let go from Dispatching office desk position I would Uber to work sometimes ask for a ride I was let go due to being not compatible. I drive a drive 2021 Alfa Romeo Q4 now and have to think would it have made a difference I don’t believe they were aware I wouldn’t have my own ride when they hired me
Next year is finally when i am going to buy an NA Miata. It's the car that got me interested in cars as a whole and i have lusted over them for about a decade now. I'm so fucking excited. Later on I hope to own either an R32 GTR or an FD RX7.
I'm basically in the area where I am looking to pay for a 2013 Lexus LS460. Since I'm a huge fan of those cars. It sure isn't my dream car, but it is the car I'm looking to keep long term.
@@ProfessorDrives yessir. It was the car I've been looking for that has V8 power with the reliability of a toyota. Eventhough it can be an enthusiast car because of how stylish it is.
I'm doing this wrong , I bought my r129 sl500 for $7k (at 95k miles, compared to what the original owner paid this is highway robbery)driven it for four years, watched it appreciate while daily driving it (now at 153K miles) and its still worth more than when I bought it. All this to say I never intend on selling. I don't buy cars ever with the intention of making money( unless its a circuit event; no streetracing just pure racetrack antics).
Same for me. I think the option it pretty obvious though. Save for the zo6. I had enough for a mustang and couldn’t get myself to pull the trigger since if I just saved for a bit longer, it would have been something I would have liked much better. About 9-11k vs 12-17k used (about 90k miles). Good luck!
One of my dream cars is an og m2 and I hope to get my truck to last long enough so I can get to the point where that would be the first car I buy with my own money.
I bought a loaded 2019 Mustang gt premium for $37k at 19k miles. Currently have 50k miles and can sell it for $32,500 right now at a dealer.. I pay $357/month had it for almost 2 years getting bored if you can find deals on your “dream car” why not?
wanna get a m8 but the bmw m850i is more realistic lmao. i’m 16 with no time to work during the school year so im just flipping rims on fb market place rn
I’m 14 years old. My dream car is a 2009 Lamborghini gallardo superleggera. I found one same color and all, $169,999 😬. I’m going to apply for a job at my local garage next summer, how long do you guys think it would take me to get one?
calculate credit rates, monthly payments, down payments and loan for interest rates and you can see what the plan will be if you put 10k down and do like a 40 month plan for example
@@ProfessorDrives these things are phenomenal machines and I very much hope to get one someday I’m sure I can considering the low cost. They are now but I just hope by the time I can get one the value hasn’t gone up
Shit I got many dream cars that there is a whole list dedicated to each one of them, but as of now, Gotta go with either a Shelby GT500 or Corvette c8 Zo6, or a Dark Horse, I currently own a 2024 ford mustang ecoboost which was a graduation gift ( I had no Idea my dad would actually buy it on the spot ) Currently trying to pay it off, while also slowly saving for a GT or potentially bigger car like Shelby GT500 or around there.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's my dream car, just the car I know I want pretty badly, that will also be somewhat affordable. By the time my insurance rates go down when I turn 25 in four years, I want to be able to pay cash for a 2014 Metallic Gray Mustang GT premium with a six speed manual and the factory glass roof. That car is currently about $25k, but may go down due to depreciation or up due to scarcity, so idk what the prices will be like in four years. But I'm hoping if I save ~$7k a year for the next four years, I'll be able to afford it and then some for the taxes and fees and stuff. Assuming I can find a job making 40k a year after taxes, that would be less than 25% of my yearly income, which I don't think is too bad. Especially considering the money will be sitting in a savings account until the day I actually do buy the car so I'd still be able to withdraw it and use it for other stuff in case of emergency.
My dream car is the F80 M3 under 40K that's pretty darn cheap compared to the new G80 M3 which is still around $80,000 I'm still going to save tho or get a 16k F30 340i 😌
4:15 Wtf, $2500 per month is A LOT OF MONEY. In my county average salary is about $500 per month, you can maybe get $2k or more if you're a very, very good programmer...
Buddy I make between 8 to 9k a month before taxes that will barely get you buy if I wasn't going to college I would have bought a much more expensive car aka a mclaren 12c when they were like 80k but now I have a stage 2 2017 540i while going to college to be a doctor
I make 64k salary Supra mk5 is what I’m looking for mainly. I’d have to pay 950-1k a month and $500 for insurance. I wouldn’t be able to comfortably afford it yet
I am 17 have about 15k saved up most of it is in a CD that doesn’t mature until next spring I am also saving about 75% of every pay check. but I am starting college in fall of 2025 so I am not sure if I should use it to buy a C5 corvette or college. Once CD matures because I am not sure I’ll ever have this much cash again until I’m in my 30s.

If for somehow I win big money, I can try and get either or, but a person can dream right?
A lot of people in the comments have said R8, and I'm with you lol!! R8 over C8 all day. But with that comes more money:(
Ultimate dream car -> Tie between Porsche Taycan Turbo S CT and 911 Turbo Spyder
More realistic dream car -> Mazda Miata
I’m actually quite close to being able to buy a Miata and I am very excited to get one.
Healthy mix of realistic and aspirational!
@@ProfessorDrives Thank you!
An RS4 would be so cool. Those are insanely rare
My dream car is a 2017-19 Mercedes e63s 4matic+ with a panoramic sunroof and amg bucket seats. I'm 18, currently going through pilot school, I'm relying on my future career to pay for it 🤞
Im about to turn 19, and my dream car is a late 60s 4 door hardtop chevy impala
In terms of classic cars, they seem to be one of the most attainable for a decent price, and they are popular enough where there are lots of aftermarket parts for them, and they are gorgeous
Whether i will actually be able to get one or not, im not sure, but it is something i hope i will eventually be able to afford
If i cant get that, a more modern car i would like thats reasonably attainable would be a 2000s dodge magnum
Nice big muscle car with a nice look, and near infinite practicality
Both good options. You'll definitely make it there.
My second and third dream cars are: a 2018 Camaro Zl1, and a 1994 MK4 Supra (lil odd dream 3 car garage but whatever lmao)
Cool video dude! Good advice!
Mine is a Ferrari 458 Italia (as a more obtainable dream car/realistic). Idk if I'll ever be able to afford it, but I'll certainly try.
I bet you will if you try really hard. Just need a job or business that pays $300k-$400k a year
My dream car is a 1975-1996 Jaguar XJS V12, smooth motor, smooth ride, sleek looks. It’s the perfect budget exotic (besides the typical jag expenses)
Don’t have a dream car but a dream garage which is a Mercedes gle 63 amg, a Porsche 911 turbo s and a dodge challenger hellcat
Porsche 911 turbos don't get enough credit
Nissan Skyline Make $21.80 saving money for the down payment at the moment I have a Good credit score. I finished paying my daily. Moving to my second car.
Love it!!
My dream car is a 6th Gen Chevy Camaro with a manual transmission, A V8 engine, a convertible top, and a rapid blue model. I'm 18 and my goal is to buy one at 21.
You'll get it!! Great choice!
Thank you! Your video really inspired me to make a well-informed decision when it comes to buying a masterpiece. I feel more confident than ever! :)
True! Those are 2 of my favorite for between $80k-$120k. Definitely much cheaper to maintain than a gallardo or R8
I’m 15 almost 16, my dream car would be either a 2021 Subaru WRX STi, or a 2021 Audi S4
Both really good cars! Definitely realistic to afford it within these rules in your 20s
Dream car is a hellcat challenger. saving to pay it off fully. I’m gonna pay in full a 300s for 10k first and uses that for a few years. Planning to save 15-20k of my income (career in law enforcement) my goal is to have it by 25 (I just turned 22 recently.
That would be awesome to have a paid for hellcat. One of the rare ones in the crowd.
Keep me updated!!!
Ford Mustang Dark Horse is my absolute dream car..❤
You'll get it!!!
@@jrockrsx1144 My dream right now is probably a 2016 Audi R8 V10. It's about $140k tho :(
@@ProfessorDrives dang that's awesome! In due time 🙏🏽
My dream car is a McLaren P1, but I've been paying more attention to the new Corvettes
Imagine owning a P1. That's what makes me wake up every morning.
@@ProfessorDrives Indeed!
My dream car is a fiat mulach with a v6 engine swap, and with the seat pushed back, maybe off roading tires and some insulation since I live in Alaska
Getting ready to take delivery of my dream car 2020 Shelby gt350👏🏽
OOOOF. Congratulations!!!
@@ProfessorDrivesthanks love ur vids and advice. I work 2 jobs comfortably and have been saving up for a big down payment. Keep up the good work🔥
my dream car is an Alfa Romeo Giulia, idk something about the car just speaks to me
We got similar taste. Maserati and Alfa are similar
Mine realistically would be a third gen RS3
10/10 choice
@@ProfessorDrives maybe in the future but as of right now I’m thinking of a C5 Z06, because I wanna drive manual. My parents and other relatives know how to drive manual, and I’m just trying to carry on the tradition so I can pass it on to my own children in the future
I feel like I have a dream car for every category 😭
10-20k: 370z
20-40k: 2ss or manual 440i/240i
40-60k: manual mk5 supra or manual F87 M2 comp
60-80k: C7
80-120k: R8 or R35 GTR
200k+: svj
Too much: koenigsegg chimera or any koenigsegg
I do too lol!! SVJ is about $1,000,000 though :(
1970 forward leaned supercharged with blower v8 ford mustang body with a wider body kit,i dont know what else, but i like big muscle

@@ProfessorDrives YEAH BUDDY 🤜🤛
My realistic dream car is a 2000 c5 but I’m young and poor 😢
I dont even have a Dreamcar, at least a modern one. But i want to buy a C3 Corvette at one point and learn to tinker on it and create a Car i love. Problem is, i am German, so there are few C3s, even fewer manuals and a lot of them probably have issues, also there are a lot of requirements for them to be considered historic, what i want, to first of all reduce tax and second it looks nice on the License Plate.
A C3 would be super cool
Gotta be a quatttoporte trofeo for me
Beautiful choice
i am 17 and i'm studying to get into the Laws school, and my dream car is a Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale 🔱
You have the best taste lol!
Not my dream car but it’s easily the best starter car / entry level sports car for my age. 6 speed manual especially
That is definitely a really good car to enter the car space
Being a finance nerd and a car guy is basically a contradiction lmao. I’m in the same boat brother. I make great money and want a Porsche but I simply can’t justify it. My GF says I should reward my hard work but to me that’s money I could use to buy an *overpriced* house.
But I also feel like I’ll worry to the point that I’ll never get what I want until I’m much older (I’m 26 atm)
Yeahhhh. I'm in the same predicament
@@ProfessorDrives my current plan is to continue to save for retirement and in parallel have a “large purchase fund”. When I turn 30 I’ll reevaluate my goals and use some of that fund to either pay cash for the car (used one ofc) or put down a significant down payment like 75%
a top tier dream car would be a Porsche 911 997.1 or .2 targa its a top tier car and i love its quirks and features and ususaly retail around 46~70k eur but i hope to buy it before 30
Those are among the best under $100k
6 gen camaro ss with a 6 speed manual transmission... it's a V8 muscle car and it's reliable 💪
Niceeeeee!
@@ProfessorDrives Does your maserati have V8 in it?
The 2018 Koenigsegg Agera RS is one heck of a car I'd be willing to own
One day!!!
Those are all EXTREMELY good choices
If I should buy it or not doesn't matter, I *can't* buy it. I'm focusing on school more than getting a job, but I am waiting for an answer for a job. School isn't going top either...
Love to hear it!
i used to drive one of these and ngl seeing the 13.8MPG was actually not bad considering how i drove it- amazingly you can actually get like 25-28 highway if you really try but its just impossible to resist. feelsbad i had to sell it cuz i wanted something cheaper to own so i now have a g37 convertible, but its amazing as well and ima keep it while i build myself up until i get another of these
G37 convertible must be fun to drive! Did you have any expensive repairs you had to do to the Maserati?
@@ProfessorDrives most expensive thing was a thermostat needed to be replaced, bout 1100 by an independent- also did belts for a few added hundred, though it was at like 106k miles so im not surprised
My dream car is currently the FL5 Type R
Beautiful!
my dream car is the iroc z28 Camaro and turn it into 600hp “daily driver”
Casual 600hp daily lool
I bought a c6 z06 at 21 and two years later I still don’t regret it. My “dream” car would have to be a manual zonda or f1 gtr so I def can’t afford it lol. I love my z though nothing could replace it
Just cause you can make the payment doesn’t mean you can afford it but then again life is short so do as you please 🤷🏻♂️
Agreed
Last year I was let go from Dispatching office desk position I would Uber to work sometimes ask for a ride I was let go due to being not compatible. I drive a drive 2021 Alfa Romeo Q4 now and have to think would it have made a difference I don’t believe they were aware I wouldn’t have my own ride when they hired me
Aww sorry to hear that. Those alfa's are very cool.
Solid choice for really good reliability and luxury AND some power

Good luck!
My dream car is a 2015 Nissan GT-R black edition
Thats one of my top 5

My dream car is a 2013 GT500 Supersnake
I live in Australia and used GranTurismos go for 250k australian dollars, but they are well taken care of unlike a lot of the used GTs out there 😅
I bought a loaded 2019 Mustang gt premium for $37k at 19k miles.

calculate credit rates, monthly payments, down payments and loan for interest rates and you can see what the plan will be if you put 10k down and do like a 40 month plan for example
We might be looking at the same Gallardo lol!!! It'll take 10-20 years of hard work to afford it and be smart about it.
@@ProfessorDrives what color would you get? I always loved Arancio borealis
Something somewhat realistic is a McLaren 600LT or a 991 Turbo or 997 Carrera 4

Corvette c7 Z06 is my goal as my next car
Need4speed. That car is unreal...
I want a heavily modified Miata in the $40K-60K range once I am in my 50s, can buy it in cash, and it's less than 10% of my net worth.
