Just as a side note, another great way to save money is a motto of "use it till it breaks" especially with electronics. A phone can last 5+ years without a major upgrade but people tend to buy every year cause it's just kind of expected. Hold off on that new TV, or that ridiculously overpriced graphics card and you'll really see your savings rack up. Smaller frivolous purchases are a killer for long term savings. As for my dream car? I think it'd have to be the Lotus Evora/Emira, I joke with my friends about the lotus fund but it is very real LOL.
Great suggestions. You can keep yourself from spending on frivolous things by compartmentalizing your money when you get paid. "Pay yourself" first into an account you don't touch. Stick to it and leave the money in there until you have the amount you are saving for. This is a good idea even if you are not saving for anything specific. They are called "emergency savings" and can help you out of a bad situation should you need it.
Bought my dream car 3 years ago. Took me 8 years of checking every single day to find the perfect one for me. I’m glad I waited for the right one though; take your time with it. Good luck to everyone out there saving up for your dream car, you got this.
Good advice! I made the mistake of buying the cheapest example of the car I wanted when I was younger, it just ended up costing more to get the cars in a condition I was happy with than if I just saved a bit longer and waited for the right one .

Then the car got hyped as I was growing up, now the prices to buy and maintain them are ridiculous. So at the age of 21, dream car then became an Evo, then those got really expensive. The funny thing is I bought my first 90's Honda civic around that time, and the car really grew on me. Now the dream car is An RSX type-S (trying to get a decent one before those get stupid expensive too). I just find it funny that the older I got, the less I wanted the more "hyped-up" cars. I guess I'd realized that I just wanted something that I could have fun with, that's reliable and wouldn't cost me an arm/leg to fix if something breaks.
Reliable and not costing an arm/leg, sounds like you might want a 86 or BRZ. Those are great fun cars that are relatively cheap, and obviously the aftermarket support is huge.

So many people saved up for their dream cars only to have the pandemic happen and the sports car market inflated to the point they need almost double what they thought. I had 2 dream cars while I was a poor college student struggling to make ends meet: s2k and e46m3. 20 years later I own both cars sitting in my garage and a Lexus ls430 and rx350. Got one for every occasion. Finally I’m done …for now 👍🏻
I'm sitting here reading these comments and am so thankful I attained my dream car 25 years ago a 97 NSX. Its sitting in my garage. Yes I'm old and retired. All I can add to this is work hard there is no short cuts. Also remember to take care of your other needs like family and your ultimate reality that you will have to retire someday. Remember your dream car is your hobby not your life. Life is a balancing act.
My dream car is a 1st gen Acura/Honda nsx and I know for a fact that the value on those will sky rocket in a few years. Even the s2k’s are going up in price.
I wanted an S15 Silvia since I was in year 7, the first year of highschool down here in Aus. Around 8 years later I have one in my driveway, best looking car ever imo.
My attainable dream car is the Lexus ISF, specifically 2012-14 models. Funny enough it became my dream car after buying my 1st car, an 08 IS250 which I'm still driving today
I recently acquired one of my dream cars, a 1984 C4 Corvette, at 25. I got lucky and got it for cheap. Just about everything works and it’s a little rough around the edges. For those whose dream car is older, wait for an opportunity while keeping your eyes peeled. I found the corvette with a for sale sign and a phone number on it. Now I’m considering selling my prerunner truck to get a clean C3 Corvette
Dream car is an r35 Gtr I know it’s the typical 14 year old dream car but I watched that car get unveiled and then put into need for speed prostreet as a prototype car and I fell in love ever since , my car now is a all motor k24 civic si that I’m having fun with currently and I wanna keep it forever next to my Gtr
As a daily driver, saving money and kepting the equity in the car you're buying a Honda or Toyota economy car. That you wont do any mods to, just maintain and save your money
@@ismaelgomez2158 I guess. It really depends on what people can afford and what's available. There are fun cars that are reliable and barely depreciated. Like Miata.
Great video, some really valid points here. The points that I use: save as much as you can, limit unnecessary expenses where you can, be realistic with your goals, buy the car you can afford (especially with maintenance and fuel etc.), wait for the right car to come. Another is with education, finding a job or career that's lucrative financially or help you get your car at a discounted rate. I'm still working on these myself, but def lessons we can all be reminded of
one tip that i got is to learn how to work on your own vehicle to save a lot more money. There are too many videos here on youtube that will show you how to do things correctly for you to be worried about messing it up. Also what im currently doing is buying cheap cars, modding them, then selling them for a higher price. Then use some of the profits to buy a more expensive car, mod it, sell it, then repeat the process until I get my dream car. This will also teach you how to work on several different types of platforms and help introduce you to so many communities
Hundreds of comments on here, and you're the only one who mentioned this. And totally agree! I've saved literally thousands of dollars over the course of my life working on my own cars and my family's. Even learning basic simple stuff like changing an exhaust, struts, oil changes, tire rotations etc. etc. that stealerships charge too much damn money for, can save you every $ towards the next car.
I took mental notes watching this video Gels. Down payment on any car in my opinion I never done that before so I don't know how hard that is. Someday I will own my dream car before most of us have to drive electric vehicles.
For those financing 10k or less, consider a personal loan. You get a slightly worse interest rate but then you can pay for the car cash and own it outright
For anyone reading this, what he means pay for the car cash with a personal loan, is that the bank doesn't put a lien on your car like when you get an auto loan. That way you have the title on hand and can do whatever you want with it.
10k and less for cars that you're getting at the dealership or private party, personal loans can help a lot as long as you understand the APR that comes with what you're approved for. Bonus if you can get one where the banks don't penalize you for paying the loan off early.
I cut down on my spending, worked 12 hrs a day at least 5 days a week on night shift for 15 months on top of saving for a wedding/honeymoon I was able to save 10k to put down on my Golf R. I was also able to buy it before the big market inflation so not upside down even now. I feel for anyone who is buying a car now, because once market levels out, anyone who bought a car during this crazy ass market is gonna be extremely upside down.
I have 2. Dodge Charger and viper. Have the charger. Walked to work every day for 8 months to get that car. Saved every penny I could. Not walking anymore but a viper is still the goal
Sold my 2017 Impreza a few months ago to pay for over half of the cost for my current dream car with a Mk 7.5 Golf R. Stepping stone for maybe my next dream car being an RS6 WAGOOOOOONNNNN.
My dream car has to be a 2004 mustang mystichrome cobra. They’re like 30-40k right now which isn’t terrible, but by the time I could afford one as a “Sunday driver” it’ll probably be 50-60k. I have owned a 2000 v6 (I know) for the past 5 years and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I did recently start two projects with my dad and brother, a 1978 king cobra mustang and a 1976 cobra ii. Maybe they’ll be worth something in the future when they’re fixed up and that would put a couple of drops in the bucket toward the dream car

I got to have 1 of my dream cars for 2 years before I got sick of the upkeep. S197 GT500. It was a loud mean annoying thing. I loved it. Could smoke 4th at 40MPH
My dream car is an S2000. I had been saving up to buy one and now they’re too far out of my reach to buy. The more money I save, the more their value goes up :(
My dream car was a 350z but now it’s a 370z and i cant wait until i buy it. I’m in high school right now looking for a side job to get some extra cash to save up for maybe both cars a 350 and 370 and i hope whoever is reading this gets their dream car/cars too
I wanted to a gt500 but feel like it's out of my league and gt350 which is more reasonable also for being dailyable tbh Plus I hope there some good/well maintained shelbys left when I'm old enough...
Man I want a Type R FK8 so badly too. Hopefully life will be kind to me and get me that chance to own one of my dream cars, it's just so hard to be a teenager with drawing commissions as a side hustle for extra cash
Living in a 3rd world country where cars are almost double the price of what's being sold in the US. I learned to mellow down my dream car. Before I wanted a Mustang GT but the price was so unattainable at Php3.5M, now I'm saving up for a manual BRZ or MX-5 RF which is the price of a top of the line mid sized SUV.
Only took me about 6 months to get my dream car, VN in blue. As soon as I saw it I wanted it. Wanted a focus rs but something was missing, it was the feeling that I can't modify it that much before it is a hassle to drive, also seating position belive it or not. And weight 3,450 lb compared to 2,996 (north America vn with lighter tires and battery) ya awd is fun but the vn just felt right.
If you’re going to save money and want faster results. Invest into a Roth IRA that’s putting money away that’s already taxed and you’ll gain 7% interest or more per year. Then cash out when you’re ready
Make sure if you go the finance route make sure your monthly payment is 10-15% of your monthly income, and try and make your loan duration NO LONGER than 60 months, the smaller the better
Im aiming to get a Dodge Challenger for my first car and I’m 17 I don’t have much cash saved up but I do have a steady income and can finance so would you recommend this?
see your advice sucks, because in my persuit to one day own a supra (started in 2008), I bought a 97 240sx... 10 years and 35,000 dollars (into the 240sx) later... I finally got a 1993 mk4 supra... sitting next to my 97 240sx... of the same costs (2017). In 2018 I bought a brand new civic hatchback off the lot to retire my 240 as a daily driver (held onto it). then I pulled the engine out of my supra and have a built Titan block sitting around in a garage waiting for me to stop being lazy... fast forward to today... I Now have a 2020 Energica Eva 107... a 2021 Mazda mx5 RF BBS brembo recaro... A 93 Supra... and a 97 240sx... I traded in my 2018 civic for that mx5... In other words, There's no scenario I could have listened to your advice because the "for now" car is just as much a forever car as the dream car and now I'm stuck with a lot of crap in and around my garage... Don't get into cars kids... you WILL NOT make it out the other end ahead.. you just keep sinking deeper.
I just want a 1992 corolla ae92 gti with a redtop 4A GE in it. this thing seems kinda cheap for people who have an average monthly salary, the price is around $2800 - $3000 or 40ish million rupiah for now. but with just $140 in my bank and 7 dollars per month wages for helping my mom food business, i think that's a bit hard to obtain. maybe I can buy it after i graduate and have a job. but at that time i have the money to pay for, the price of the car is gonna skyrocketed. cuz that thing had a good engine and performance, and people know it. i'm sure the price will go up little by little by the time i collecting the money.

I wanted a r35 to. It all started with a dream about 9 years ago. Stick with it and dont give up. Key words here are dont give up.
As a daily driver, saving money and kepting the equity in the car you're buying a Honda or Toyota economy car. That you wont do any mods to, just maintain and save your money
What fun is that?
@@jessepotter365 better than breaking down every other week. Plus 6-6 Honda’s come with 271 hp ( accord ) so that’s pretty fun
I recommend no kids modding there first car especially if you spent less than 5 grand for it
I took mental notes watching this video Gels.
That’s when they sell to get back what they owe still and we get the cars on the cheap(ish) side of things?
@@Saponiboy227 I think you're misunderstand what he's saying. When the market levels out the cars value will plummet
I have 2. Dodge Charger and viper. Have the charger. Walked to work every day for 8 months to get that car. Saved every penny I could. Not walking anymore but a viper is still the goal
Got into my dream car 1.5 months ago! Absolutely love it! Can’t wait for the mods to come 😎
This video better get millions of views. Literally no one talks about how they do it. How to afford “The dream car”
Sold my 2017 Impreza a few months ago to pay for over half of the cost for my current dream car with a Mk 7.5 Golf R. Stepping stone for maybe my next dream car being an RS6 WAGOOOOOONNNNN.
Lexus RC350 F sport RWD. Perfect daily for me, it's a Gran tourer, reliable, comfortable, sporty, and it looks soooo good (also ventilated seats)
I would really like a Toyota Chaser JZX100, and I'm looking for a new job so that I can keep saving for it.
Winning that s2k would be a great start:)
1955 Chrysler 300C Boi!! Call me ancient but I love classics and have a built donor car to keep it modern when I have enough money to snatch my dream car!
Funny how you put the Nissan Z in the thumbnail that’s exactly what me and I’m sure a lot of other guys are saving for haha
Even "cheap" cars are expensive now.......
The more money I save, the more their value goes up :(
Sorry to hear bro
Good luck tho
Yeah I want a mustang Shelby GT500 that's my dream car. But I've been saving for a couple years and I'm not there yet.
Hope you get it sooner than expected 🤘
Photography is great! I made around $700 in 3months and had a blast
My dream car was a 350z but now it’s a 370z and i cant wait until i buy it. I’m in high school right now looking for a side job to get some extra cash to save up for maybe both cars a 350 and 370 and i hope whoever is reading this gets their dream car/cars too
After college, I wanna get a scat charger or a mark 3 Supra 😮💨
My dream car is an S15. I suck at buying big things like that with cash. I want to pay cash for it, that's my goal.
Yeah, just sucks when you have been saving for that dream car all your life and suddenly the value quadruples and you can't get shit lol
I wanted to a gt500 but feel like it's out of my league and gt350 which is more reasonable also for being dailyable tbh
Plus I hope there some good/well maintained shelbys left when I'm old enough...
Aiming for a S15 in my garage.
Gonna leave this here until I get it.
Obtained one of my dream cars (fk8) at the age of 22! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it! next will be f80 m3 & a m5 comp!
Man I want a Type R FK8 so badly too. Hopefully life will be kind to me and get me that chance to own one of my dream cars, it's just so hard to be a teenager with drawing commissions as a side hustle for extra cash
@@hachiroku7999 just stay focused & you will be able to obtain it! Good luck
@@392dusto6 Thanks man, praying my future self is smiling at a Red Type R on his driveway rn lmao.
Just recently found a dream car that I never knew they actually existed. BMW E60 M5......Can I get a "So You Want" on that 🤣
Already bought my dream car a 370z 👌😁😎
Glad I’m watching this I just waisted my money on a PS5 but now I’m trying to save up for a 2004 350Z I only have $800
I have multiple cars to choose for my dream car. MK5 Supra , M6, C7 vette , 66 chevelle , huracan, S15,,,, I could go on for days #missionpegasus
New intro is sweeeet
Thank you fam! 🙏
i just want the background song at the intro
What about saving up to import a car o.o ?
lol i just want an E39 wish you guys could make So You Want an E39, i know you guys made one of m5 e39 but theres so much more to just e39 non M
What about building your dream car/truck?
holy shit bro, im so fking motivated right now, 3 more months and ill be able to buy my dream fairlady z
i want a Chevrolet Chevette!!!
That’s bad ass!
B8.5 Audi S4 and I am so close I just need to find the right spec
I should've saved for an s2k when they were 10k used 😔
If you’re going to save money and want faster results.
Dream car thread
My dream car is a carbon black metallic BMW E46 M3, with the Cinnamon w/Nappa Leather interior.
Really reasonable and good tips!
i popped off at 4:27 seeing the 4th gen lude lol
I would say my dream car is to try and make a daily 240sx or 180sx and have a evo x
I can't let it slide that he said "Bugatti huayra"
My dream car is a foxbody k20 turbo swap 🤙
For me I'll just like a 03 0r 4 Mercury Marauder by Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate Edition one two reliable Landyachtz
gr86 is the dream.

Tips for making your dream build next? 🤔
Dream car: 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. My problem is that i have narcolepsy and cataplexy so im not allowed to drive
I was more looking for, what websites I can look at to find my dream car.
My dream car is a 2012-14 Lexus ISF OR a 2019 Lexus RCF 😅
Im aiming to get a Dodge Challenger for my first car and I’m 17 I don’t have much cash saved up but I do have a steady income and can finance so would you recommend this?
mk5 supra😫
all great points but that white rc was all i was paying attention to 🥵
good advice
How can i buy my dream car which is only usdm and im in northern eu and would cost 80-100k imported
I want a 2008 Audi r8, just barely in the realm of possibility for me
Oh you mean saving for my dream house, ahh i get it
Lol I got to many dream cars and trucks that I wish I could have lol the main dream car 70s camaro dream truck 55 chevy step side
see your advice sucks, because in my persuit to one day own a supra (started in 2008), I bought a 97 240sx...
This video was so well timed lmao, I really want a Golf GTI but I still got like 25k to save 😭
I am literally going to save every penny I have except for food and a turbo for my Honda Insight to buy an r32
My dream cars are things I build.
3000gt VR-4 some day
R32 gtr I’m coming for you!
Being 25 and starting at 15 with an eclipse I can say I have achieved all I wanted a 2014 Mustang GT and a 2020 MK5 Supra took time and dedication but it’s definitely possible
