Blackie Lawless is an amazing singer and definitely goes for shock value. Wild Child is another good one and also Love Machine, Tormentor, Animal, Blind In Texas and many more.
He sounds a lot like Dizzy Dean from Britny Fox.
They also did an excellent cover of The Who's The Real Thing.
@ckobo84 the next song needs to be 'Girls School'
couldnt have said it better myself!
Ball breaker
The "if Ozzy and kiss had a baby" quote was one of the most awesome quotes I've ever heard and probably the most accurate. I can't believe I didn't think of it first...it's so spot-on
My jaw just dropped that you did this song. I’m so amazed. I would’ve suggested love machine first rhythmically, but may be a little to risqué to begin with.
I know, my jaw hit the floor when I saw they did WASP! 🖤
Glad to see these reactors giving WASP some well deserved credit.
lol,Does that mean I shouldn't suggest the live version of Harder Faster?🤣
Yup, me too. WASP is not a band that you see on reaction videos
Then I probably should not have emailed them and suggested Animal?🤣🤣🤣
Just a heads up. W.A.S.P. is technically a "hair" band, but they're not your ordinary "Def Leppard, Poison, Bon Jovi" group. These guys are bad ass and are heavier than your typical hair band.
They actually have a song called "Mean Man" and long-time AND founding guitarist Chris Holmes fits that bill. Blackie Lawless, the lead singer...just wow.
My W.A.S.P. list includes "Wild Child", "Inside the Electric Circus", "Widowmaker", "Mean Man", "Forever Free", "Blind in Texas" and my all time favorite power ballad... "Sleeping in the Fire"
Sleeping In The Fire is an amazing song.
the way Blackie discovered Chris Holmes is always amusing to me 😂
Yeah I wouldn't classify WASP as a hair band. Same goes for Skid Row. They both are more towards being metal bands. "Wild Child" iand "L.O.V.E. Machine" are my favorite WASP songs.
Tormentor Hellion and The Torture Never Stops. School Daze, Sex Drive, and two good covers one from The Who called "The Real Me" and a Rolling Stones cover of the song "Painted Black"
I'm just gonna go ahead and agree so I don't have to type all of this out myself.
WASP (Wild Child) IS A Must! Blackie Lawless (Singer) and Chris Holmes (Guitarist) are priceless gems from that era. If you love WASP you will absolutely love Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction (Prime Mover) - Heavy Metal from the 80s at its finest.
Wild Child🔥
Hey great suggestion, i looked up the band Zodiac Mind Warp and the love reaction, wow thank you they are awesome!🤗
Imagine this wearing a concert shirt, long hair, high top tennis shoes, parachute pants driving a T-Top Camaro, blasting this track all over town! There will never be a time like the 80's ever again.
❤ exactly
And a black leather jacket from Wilson’s in the mall. 🤘
My 79 Z28 didn't have t-tops but whatever metal I was listening to, so were the people in other cars.
How dare you call W.A.S.P. a HAIR BAND !!!!! They were the hardest rock'in Metal Band of the 80's. LONG LIVE W.A.S.P. !!!
Yes,they were more of a shock rock group, much like Kiss and Alice Cooper.
They were a Hair Metal Band.
Evil Glam
They were not ahair band. Blackie himself once said they were raw METAL, not glam, not ahair band, but RAW METAL
@@patricialouk6650 W.A.S.P. was more Shock Rock than a some hair band.
I can't stand the phrase "Hair Band". It only describes the look, not the music. Then everyone like this argues what is or isn't the phrase. Zeppelin, Boston, Queen etc all had some members with big hair too, not just 80's. Even lots of 60's bands had big hair too. Zep and Boston had very different sound other than tenor vocals, just as Poison and WASP were very different. To me, It's all "Classic Hard Rock/Metal". Who cares what the look is. Alice Cooper and Kiss are very different than David Bowie. It didn't matter if Kiss or Bowie wore their make up or not, so adding "Glam" doesn't help categorizing them. It doesn't matter if 70's 80's bands now have short hair, they're still playing the same music.
I went out and got “ Wild Child “ tattooed on my upper thigh!!!! It’s a great WASP song!!
Forever Free ( great song)
Blind In Texas ( lots of fun)
And there’s so much more!
They did an album in 2015 with was amazing. The singer became a Christine again well you should hear something from that album too!!
“Golgotha “
I do love this band. So much energy and fun!!!!❤😂
Their power ballad Forever Free is an incredible song that really shows Blackie’s full range !! Highly recommended for you to review.
All right my babies....I had the privilege to see this band live in Detroit, and they blew the roof off the house ‼️💯🔥🎼🎶🎤🎸🥁🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
WASP never got enough credit because of the shock value of their look and stage show. Absolutely great musicians and driving rhythms through their songs. Their debut album was insanely good!
Yes Amber, he drank blood........from a skull. 😁 Definitely a "shock rock" band from the 80s. Folks have already recommended songs, so I'll just say that one of their biggest hits that was NEVER played on the radio was "Animal F**k Like a Beast". That should tell you something about them. 🙂 Rock on! \m/
💀☠️🙊
"Mean M***********g Man" is another one
You guys are in for a real treat, WASP have a nice catalog of songs to choose from, next stop should be Blind in Texas, Last Command, and Mean Man. Later you can delve into some of their deeper stuff like sleeping in the fire, Chainsaw Charlie etc. you won't be disappointed.
Cowboys have stole my eyes lol
Sleeping in the fire is one of the best songs ever. My go to song when I was fighting my coke addiction. Ps: I quit 30 years ago.
Anything before The Headless Children album just isn't deep enough
Welcome to the wonderful world of WASP. I love Amber's progression into Metal.
They seem like kind of generic 80's rock band. If I heard this without the video I'd guess it was Britny Fox.
@@ckobo84 Britney Fox was nowhere close to WASP.
@@ckobo84whaaaat 😂😂
@@ckobo84 Britny Fox? LOL!!
@@ckobo84 You're kidding, right??
I want shiny cars and dirty money
Lotsa rock and roll!
I will live in fame and die in flames
I'm NEVER gettin' old!!
Infectious Metal band : )
highly underrated band been a fan since the early Circus. Sister days another fun experience watch the 84 85 live shows
WASP. Legendary 80's shock rock metal. They were the type of band that would enrage conservative evangelicals. I remember when I first heard them in the mid 80's. I'd never seen anything like them. Singer blackie lawless also wrote some of the best ballads that got overlooked because of the type of band they were. I'm a WASP fan for life.
Please give us more this! greatest metal voice of all times!
And point....this is NOT a HAIR BAND! This is 80s METAL!
Oh Yeeeeeeeeeees
One of the best bands to comes out of the 80’s! That first self titled album (which includes this song) is crazy good. All the tracks are either 10 out of 10, or 9 out of 10.
Other great W.A.S.P. tracks are:
•Blind In Texas
•Animal (F*** Like A Beast)
•Tormentor
•Hellion
and the awesome awesome
The Torture Never Stops - which has got one of the meanest guitar riffs of all time!
I highly recommend their live concert video from 1984 (same year as I Wanna Be Somebody), it’s called Live At The London Lyceum. It’s the most nuts show ever. They even throw pieces of raw meat into the audience (who loves it)!
Wasp are probablyy favourite band now and I listen to them all the time. The crimson idol and re idolised albums are absolutely awesome.
Hell Yes! Loved me some WASP!!! They were and are one of my favorite bands of all time.
They were the first band who’s album I bought strictly based on appearance, and fuckin-a was I NOT disappointed 🤘😝🤘
I love WASP! Blackie Lawless has an amazing voice and story. You should check out songs like THE HEADLESS CHILDREN, WILD CHILD, THE REAL ME, CHAINSAW CHARLIE, I AM ONE, THE IDOL, and the epic, my favorite 10 min conclusion to the Rock Opera: The Crimson Idol - THE GREAT MISCONCEPTIONS OF ME!!
One of my favorite bands of the 80's! Blind In Texas is a must!
Anything by them are super badass! They were a big part of my childhood too! Woooo
This is one of those rare songs from the metal genre that I honestly believe no one who doesn't listen PRIMARILY to metal would truly appreciate. This is a deeper kind of glorious ridiculousness in the heavy metal field. Graduate level.
WASP doesn't get the props that they deserve. Bada** band...and, Blackie Lawless has talent coming out of his ears. He does it all from writing, production, engineering, to performing. Great catalog of material.
This is actually a well crafted song that could just as well be done as a country song. I've actually done it. Song stands up. All the bombast actually distracts from that fact.
WASP were NOT a hair band.
They were an OG Heavy Metal, blood spitting angry, in your face Heavy Metal band.
Blackie Lawless is probably one of the most underrated vocalists in Metal history.
Thank you for checking this one out, it's my absolute favorite of theirs! After this came out in '84 it was one of my top 80s anthems for the entire decade...so empowering. If you notice, Blackie Lawless changes up the chorus at the end to "I'm GONNA be somebody!"...how 80s is that? 😎 Blackie is STILL putting out material, to this day, he's crazy talented...and, side note, he's come full circle and in the late 90s told folks that he turned back into a born-again Christian (he was raised Christian), which hasn't stopped his rockin' one bit.
The whole Crimson Idol album is a must listen, it's insane
One of the most underrated albums from this era there is!
From somebody that loves 60s/70s/80s, & Motown........ I really (I mean REALLY) enjoyed that!!! And thats all down to you guys. Because I now consider you both as freinds, i tune into your channel everynight and listen & watch you react to all different kinds of music, i now find myself liking the "Hair Bands" as you like to call them. Which i never did back when i was growing up & discovering music in the 70s & 80s. So.......Thank you for that!......I think 😮.....Seriously though, i do, i thank you. ❤🎼🎙
ALRIGHT!!!!! Now y’all getting into the kings of shock metal!!!Lead singer Blackie Lawless, Chris Holmes & company were a force to be reckoned with in the 80zzz & early 90zzz….this is a great one, but you gotta react to some with teeth, such as “Scream(If You Like It), “Blind in Texas”, “The Real Me”, “Animal(F Like a Beast), “LOVE Machine”, “Inside the Electric Circus”, “I Don’t Need No Doctor”, “Forever Free” & “Heretic( The Lost Child)….all good stuff. So damn heavy 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
His name is Blackie Lawless, and they have made a real turn around. You should check out their song called "Jesus I Need You Now".
Wasp are my favourite band of all time...
This is one the best reactions I've seen on Rob Squad! Surprised Amber likes it so much. WASP was much wild and crazier than other 80's bands at the time. Glad y'all expanded to more 80's bands, there's actually lots more in the 80's hard rock/metal genre.
This was one of my favorite bands back in the 80s and 90s. A bit heavier than most of the other bands, which is why I loved them. I bought this first W.A.S.P. album as an lp and still have it. The sound and image has changed over time, but Blackie Lawless knows how to write great songs. For me must listens are "Wild Child" and "Widowmaker" (1985), "The Big Welcome/Inside the Electric Circus" (1986), "The Headless Children" and "Forever Free" (1989), "The Idol" and "Hold on to Your Heart" (1992), "Rock and Roll to Death" and "Kepp Holding On" (1995), "Damnation Angels" (1999), "Evermore" (2001), and "Hallowed Ground" (2002). Thanks J and Amber, glad you enjoyed the listen.
I know you're "Okies" but "Blind in Texas" is a MUST! You'll love it!!
Yes, Ozzy and Kiss had a baby!!! I was equally impressed!
I watched W.A.S.P open for KISS in Tulsa Oklahoma. They were really good and set the house on fire then KISS came on and blew the roof off !
I saw WASP in Nashville and they still put on a great show.
"If Ozzy and KISS had a baby, first class ticket to Hell"
Probably the best damn description of W.A.S.P ever
Well done. I'm proud of you but that slip-up with White Zombie the other day was pretty hurtful.
Glad I'm one of the people who suggested W.A.S.P
Now you have to play Wild Child by them, with the video
Or the mix it up you should play the band Grim Reaper- "See you in Hell"
In particular the live version when they play the Halloween show with a band Helloween
WASP opened two consecutive KISS' tours during the 80's. Best Rock package ever!!
Blackie Lawless. Bass player. And total wild child. He was also married to Lita Ford. This is one of my all-time favorite songs by W.A.S.P!!! Listen to this again and listen to the gravel in his voice. Then listen to WILD CHILD and hear the gravel again!!!
I got to see them in concert they came to Sacramento, CA. CalExp fair grounds it was wild concert.
I work at capexp. so I seen them for Free. I was very young. not any more that was decades ago. thanks for WASP reaction.
****WASP "Forever Free" is the song that I consider as a Hit.... It was in Heavy rotation on MTV's Headbangers Ball.....*****
About time a reaction channel doing some W.A.S.P. I've been a W.A.S.P. fan since I was young in the 80s, have an older sister that got me into a bands at an early age! Blackie Lawless has had an impressive run and still kickin'! Saw them live 6 months ago, and it rocked! One of my favorite albums came a bit later, "Helldorado" - Chris Holmes last time recording with the band.
Saw them at the Spectrum in Philadelphia back in the 80's
I am a Wasp fan and have been for years. They have a very diverse catalog and honestly have one of the best concept albums of all time in the Crimson Idol. However, one of the most heart breaking things you will ever see is The Chris Holmes interview from the documentary The Decline of the Western Civilization 2 : The Metal Years. You may even find the interview on youtube if you look. Imagine seeing someone so talented in so much pain literally drowning themselves.
Another great live band!!!
W.A.S.P. (allegedly an acronym for "We Are Sexual Perverts" 🤣) started in L.A. as a 'shock rock' band in the vein of Alice Cooper and Kiss... their early club show would see bloody raw meat being flung at the audience 🥩🥩
Metallica's tour in 1985 for 'Ride the Lightning' was w/ W.A.S.P. (and Armored Saint), but the bands had little in common... 😁
Blackie Lawless (real name Steve Duren) had played bass in various West Coast bands since the 70's... He formed W.A.S.P. in the early 80's w/ Chris Holmes (guitar) and Lawless on vocals & bass... First W.A.S.P. album in 1984 got "I wanna be somebody" on MTV and it charted at #74... the 2nd album 'The Last Command' (1985) was a bigger hit w/ the single 'Wild child'... charting at #49.
3rd album 'Inside the electric circus' (1986) was followed by a stellar live record 'Live in the raw' (1987)... w/ Blackie Lawless switching to guitar and Johnny Rod on bass. 'The Headless Children' (1989) was the last album before Blackie Lawless disbanded the line-up in 1990.
In 1992, Lawless delivered the W.A.S.P. concept album 'The Crimson idol'... it was an ambitious record and became a fan fave, but it failed commercially in the wake of 90's grunge rock... W.A.S.P. did not stop there, releasing 'Still not black enough' in 1995... Chris Holmes (guitar) returned to W.A.S.P. for a few years before leaving again in 2001.
W.A.S.P. released more records, and have enjoyed a loyal fanbase worldwide since.
More W.A.S.P. songs - 'Harder, faster'... 'Wild child' ... 'Murders in the New Morgue'... 'L.O.V.E Machine' ... Sleeping (in the fire)' ... 'Arena of pleasure'... 'Forever free'... 'Still not black enough' 😈🤘🤘🔥🔥
The lead singer has one of the best rock names Blackie Lawless. Check out Wild Child and Babylon’s Burning
I don't normally like hairband music. But you're right, his voice, the guitar, and the drums, make this special.
Singer has changed his life by becoming a born again Christian and he gives you his journey in the song Godless Run that you should check out
Great song!
🖤For Falsetto -Please react to British band The Darkness (official videos if possible) -They're like an 80's hair band, but began in 2000! -I Believe in a Thing Called Love -Is It Just Me? -Love Is Only a Feeling -One Way Ticket -Christmas Time -Thanks!!!
Back in the day, magazines would put W.A.S.P. vs. other bands. One common band they would pin them to was Stryper. They would presented as darkness against the light. It was a way to sell, I guess.
Anyway, I think it's time for you guys to react to Stryper, another hair metal band you still don't know about. I would suggest Calling On You, Always There For You or To Hell With The Devil as possible songs to start with. I think you will love them.
I saw W.A.S.P. in concert when they first started, they played with Armored Saint and a third group I can't remember. Loved them and the entire concert was awesome!
The singer is Blackie Lawless. They are always great live, actually they are better live than on the record. They have some really good songs like The Headless Children, Love Machine, Mean Man, and a really good ballad called Forever Free. Chris Holmes is the Blonde guitarist. First time I saw them was with opening band Metallica at a small venue on my 20th birthday.
That had to be one helluva a show!!&! 😎
@brheinfeldt It was and the song Blind in Texas always reminds me of my 20th birthday. They mention the town I saw them in. It' was a small place and maybe holds 300 people. It was the Ride the Lightning tour for Metallica. Saw many good bands there like Motley Crue, Saxon, Accept, Grim Reaper, Helix, Def Leppard, Blackfoot, Krokus and many more.
@markwilliams6394 Wow! ALL excellent shows! Love Saxon, too! Best show I ever saw them at was at the Wintergarden in Dallas. Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Saxon and Riot. ROCK ON!!&!
@brheinfeldt saw a few Texas Jams in Dallas.
Sleeping in the Fire.
Cries in the Night.
Wild Child.
Widowmaker.
Blind in Texas.
Forever Free.
Animal (F*uck Like a Beast).
The Idol.
Hallowed Ground (Acoustic Version).
Just a few W.A.S.P. songs to get you started, but just to let you know Blackie Lawless 's snarl & howl is not to be ignored.
Miss you and trails of tears as well
Saw these guys with Metallica and Armored Saint in 1985. Great concert.
WASP was a big influence on Motley Crue.
Motley Crue was formed before WASP I thought, but they both came out of the same scene in LA, early 80's. I remember the first time I saw the vinyl for the Animal (f*ck like a beast) single. Still have it 🤘 the sawblade under the crotch. Definite shock value!
@@palladinodessa8988 That's possible. I just remember reading an article in Circus magazine where Nikki Sixx said he was friends with Blackie and he got the idea of setting himself on fire on stage from watching Blackie do it. Blackie could have been in a pre WASP band at the time. It was 40 years ago when I read the article. So that detail might have slipped my mind.
@@Rocker1983 Blackie was a wild one, no doubt about it. I liked both bands because they were just a bit more metal than glam and they didn't play by the rules. 🤘
Owned this album on CASSETTE and wore it out listening to it. Got the chance to see them in '84 opening up for Quiet Riot and WASP stole the show. Tremendously underrated band.
One of my all time favorite bands!! Love Blackie!!
WASP Live In The Raw is a concert CD and if you liked I Wanna Be Somebody on the studio track you’ll go nuts for the live version. The whole Live In The Raw album is killer but that song is beyond amazing live. Thank you for reaching to WASP, it’s rare to see on UA-cam
W.A.S.P is great!! One of my favorite songs of theirs is "Wild Child". My favorite album of theirs is called "Crimson Idol". It's a rock opera, story album that's about a man that wanted fame & fortune in the music business & how when he got that, he wanted out. Blackie Lawless narrates the story and you can sit & pick out the song that goes with the part of the story he's telling. Find it, listen to it & then pick the songs to react to. I know that's not how you do it, but trust me, that's how you need to do it.
I saw them with KISS in west palm beach. Singing chorus with stadium was awesome. Blind in Texas is another good one. 🤟🤟🤟🤟🔥🤟🤟🤟🤟
I saw WASP open up for KISS in 1986 on their "last command" tour. My favorite song of theirs is I'm blind in Texas from that album.
WASP is a LA hair band that came out in the mid 80's just like Ratt. Gotta play some Ratt. "Lay It Down" or "Wanted Man" Thanks.
'Blind in Texas' is another good Wasp song.
In the unlikely event I ever go to America and more specifically Texas... That song will be my anthem for that holiday!
The blonde guitarist, Chris Holmes was once involved for many many years with the lovely Lita Ford.
WASP's discography is deep.... go down that rabbit hole.... DARE YA!!!
And then listen to Sleepin' in the Fire after that! It's what I did when I was just about to turn fourteen in 1985: I Wanna Be Somebody was my introduction to heavy metal and then I fell in love with 'Sleeping' right after, I couldn't believe they had a song like that as well, mind blown!
Ah the memories. Saw W.A.S.P. at the Cleveland Agora probably 1990.
Great show
This song is a perfect representation of the 80's metal sound. One of my absolute favorites. Great beat, great vocals, wicked guitars, love every bit of it.
I only have 3 words for you.....Blind in Texas. One of their best. If your feeling brave, their best song is Animal (f#%k like a beast)
A great 80s band. Many good tracks to check out: School Daze, The Last Command, Wild Child, and Widowmaker are all great.
Oh how fun!! This is one of my very favorite bands from back in my dsy!! Yeah!! I'm banging my head!!
I literally had a wasp poster on my wall as a kid. 1985 or so I was 15 lmao. These guys are still around. The mean man Chris Holmes is a beast 🤟
The lead singer / bassist / main songwriter’s name is Blackie Lawless. This is essentially his band and he is the only original member left.
His brief history, he grew up in the NY area, was friends with KISS’ Ace Frehley, was briefly the touring guitarist for glam legends The New York Dolls on their 1975 tour, moved out to LA and was in Nikki Sixx’s pre Motley Crue band, London. He then formed a band called Circus Circus which morphed into WASP.
WASP was much heavier & more controversial the the average hair band with a lead single / ep called “Animal, f*ck like a beast” and a stage show that featured a scantily woman on a torture rack, Blackie drinking blood from a skull & the band throwing raw meat into the crowd.
IMO their debut album WASP, is their absolute best, but their second album The Last Command is also very good as is The Crimson Idol.
Some other songs to check out are, L.O.V.E. Machine, The Flame, On Your Knees, The Torture Never Stops, Blind In Texas, Sleeping In The Fire, Wild Child, School Daze, Tormentor, B.A.D., The Idol.
Lead singer Blackie Lawless and bassist is .......NOTORIOUS
Surprisingly, there are very melodic songs on this album that I think you’d like. You’re gonna LOVE “Blind in Texas” from their following album for the good time rock sound and VERY fun video!!
Woah you listened to WASP! Blackie Lawless is one of my favorite vocalists and WASP was my favorite band in the 80s 🖤 Though I do love these early years, they evolved a lot with each album. Freaking love them
Kix, Killer Dwarfs, Pretty Maids, Loudness, Rough Cutt, TNT, Keel, Britney Fox, Krokus, Dangerous Toys, Lillian Axe
WASP was so awesome. First time I saw them, they were opening for Iron Maiden. The only opening band I've ever seen with a full stage show. They were a site to see live. They threw out raw meat, Blackie drank blood from a skull. plus, the two guitar players and Blackie were all 6 feet + tall.
His voice is as strong today. Very original sound.
They also have a great ballad called Hold On To My Heart. Blackie has a great voice.
lol, 1st time I heard anybody describe WASP as hair metal. Rock on Rob Squad
The first guitar I ever owned was a black BC Rich Rave 2 Warlock and it was because I idolized WASP. Blackie Lawless used to wear these platform boots with devil hoofs on them and walked bow-legged so that he looked like a demon. ☠🩸🤘😈🤘🩸☠ Check out "Scream Until You Like It" Though the video uses footage from the movie Ghoulies.
Wasp has always been one of my go-to bands back in the mid-80s, I'm glad you guys did this reaction, us wasp fans are going to want to see more reactions of them, I suggest, inside the Electric Circus, but the introduction to this song called, the big welcome is definitely a must to play with it, then there's the song ,shoot from the hip, Wild Child, Fistful of diamonds, blind in Texas, man there's just a whole bunch of good songs from wasp.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! You guys win the award for most diverse reaction channel!! Fun facts: Blackie Lawless sang back up vocals on Motley Crue's 2nd album and it was Chris Holmes' guitar that Eddie Van Halen borrowed to record VH's first album!!!!
Right on. Thank you for some W.A.S.P. you gotta check out their cover of Paint it Black
Yes Blackie lawless has an awesome voice
Restless gypsy is 🔥 give it a listen
My first concert. Opened for Iron Maiden at The Myriad in OKC. Good show.
WASP came out at the same time all of the other Sunset Strip bands such as Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, and Ratt were becoming popular. Y'all should also check out "Blind in Texas" and "Wild Child". "The Last Command" from WASP was one of the first cassettes I bought for my Sony Walkman. Singer Blackie Lawless is an extraordinary singer. He's a "Born Again" Christian now and has released some music that is more reflective of his faith. WASP is also currently on their 40th Anniversary tour and the reviews of their show are stellar!
This is one of my favorite song's 👍❤️🎶🎵
I have just came to this video after viewing Peter Cetera's songs " Next Time I Fall In Love" and "Glory Of Love". Talk about hving guilty pleasures, music wise.🎸🥁🤘😂😂
W.a.s.p Harder faster is a straight banger
I'm so glad y'all did W.A.S.P. They're one of my favorite bands of all time, though calling them a hair band is a bit of a misnomer. Hair bands were generally more of a "pop" metal that actually got air time on mainstream radio stations. Y'all should listen to Blind in Texas, Scream Until You Like It, and Inside the Electric Circus. Another band you should listen to is Lizzy Borden...especially Master of Disguise.
"The real me" and "Widowmaker" both good. Not as intense but I like them
Wild Child, Blind in Texas, the Idol are also great tunes by WASP. I know some have suggested Animal, but I'm not sure you'd appreciate the language.
Glad you enjoyed that! Blackie Lawless his a beast of a singer and Chris Holmes on lead guitar is so underrated. But, that wasn't Hair Metal in my opinion. These guys had harder and faster songs as well. This is pure 80's Metal! Check out Wild Child and Love Machine next. You'll dig it.
The term "hair metal" never made sense to me. Anyone who sang any form of metal (or even hard rock) had long hair and lots of it. There's so many different terms nowadays because there's so many different genres and levels of speed to metal. But metal is still metal...the hair is a given.
They were glam metal but heavy enough for my ears
@@stephanieclark9849 - Thank you! I completely agree. Go down this video's comment section and so many people argue what is or isnt "hair...blah blah. Not Rob Squad's fault, they're just using existing language, but imagine if it was all labeled "80's hard rock/metal", then we could bypass all this hair this hair that. I grew up in the 80's and it was all called "heavy metal" back then, except for Bon Jovi--Poison--Europe etc which we called "pop metal" back then, and Metallica Slayer as "thrash metal". ----BTW, @andre, not picking on you at all. I agree with your comment over all, except nothing should be called "hair band" or "hair metal" to start with.
@@dustinjones8887 Exactly! Back in the day there was 4 rock categories. You had Classic Rock like Bad Company, Boston, etc.. Then you had Rock like Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Tesla, etc.. Then there was Heavy Metal with bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc.. And finally Thrash/Speed Metal with Metallica, Slayer, etc.. There was no "hair" anything. After that there's so many sub genres, I can't even keep up. The whole hair metal/glam metal thing got thrown in there when the term has nothing to do with the music. It's all about the look. In today's world, Motley Crue would be considered glam I guess because of the spandex and make-up. It gets so confusing so I just stick with the original 4 categories 😆 Two excellent bands got lumped in with bands like Poison and didn't get the credit they deserved at the time. And that's Skid Row and Warrant. They were great in my opinion and not appreciated enough back then.
