Blackie has one of the best voices in rock!!! Great songwriter!
For me he was the 2nd best 80's rock vocalist behind only the legend Bruce Dickenson. Iconic and unique.
He’s an A-Hole though. Totally turned me off to this band when I met him and found out what a jerk he is.
Chris Holmes has one of the best guitar sounds ever and so underrated guitar player. His stories with EVH are awesome too
Dude that is so true. Chris holmes is awesome and his stories with Eddie are the absolute best.
@@DeafMatch the most impressing thing is that he can do such with his guitar sound without a ton of effects
@@BuccWyldeas much as everyone would be happy to be married with Lita, I think they were not helping each other out a lot during that time period!
Ever since I saw the video for "I Wanna Be Somebody" back in 1984 I've been a fan of this band. My favorite album was "The Last Command". W.A.S.P are definetly in my top 5 Metal bands from the 1980:s. Alexis the guitar player Burch was referring to who drank the vodka is the blonde haired guitar player in this video , Chris Holmes.
Randy Piper and Chris Holmes were such a vastly underrated guitar duo!!! And R.I.P STEVE RILEY, you will be missed!!!
Blackie and Randy were a great duo Steve got fired from most bands he got hired by because he thought he had ownership in them
When holding a press conference a journalist asked about the band´s name standing for "We Are Satans People".
Blackie leans toward the microphone and responds calmly; "We Ain´t Sure Pal".
This is a proper classic!
wow, brings back memories. We did EVERYTHING in excess in the 80's and we loved it!
It was one huge party!
Oh, what wild and fun times! 80s teens are sooooo lucky!
My grown children look at my photo albums and said, "Dad... these photos look like every 80s movie ever. They look just like MTV".
🤣 I say well yeah ... My high school looked like the MTV videos. It was real. I LIVED it! Oh, did I party hard! I can't believe I survived it. And my kids are sooo jealous 🤣
Great classic W.A.S.P. Great job guys and gals. Lol.
When I first saw these guys back in the 80's my first words to the rest of my band was...
"OH, Elvira's got a brother."
Few months later I saw them open up for KISS in Denver.
Good times.
One of my favorite 80's band! Need to do I'm blind in Texas!
Blackie has continued to release amazing tracks, if you want some more wasp try WASP - heaven's hungin black, WASP - miss you, and WASP - Golgatha
Saw WASP open for Iron Maiden at Irvine Meadows Irvine CA in 1985. Epic. I was 19 years old I'm now 57. Still love my 80s metal❤. My brother in law is a huge WASP fan and corresponds with Chris Holmes. Chris has sent him guitar pics and various WASP memorabilia.
I always did like Blackie Lawless's voice on this song. That raspiness.
I hope you both will react to :"Forever Free" sometime. It's a rock ballad.Alexis may enjoy that one more.Just a suggestion
The baddest of groups to come from the hair metal time period. Great live killer songs
Now you need to do Animal (the explicit version) by WASP.
Saw them on the Electric Circus tour in 86 with Warlock. 👌🤘
WASP...one of my favorite bands. Just raw good Ole Metal.🤘 Seen them quite a few times.
Alexis nailed my thoughts exactly... this video has every bad 80's metal trope to come out from that time period, all in one video... yet at the time that this came out, this was an incredible video to watch. Now, well... wow.
The song still holds up though.. I love it!
They are a big Part of the Heavy Metal evolution in the 80s/90s too
I was such a big WASP fan back in the day but watching this now some 40yrs later and I'm like "Jesus H..! What was I thinking?" lol
Love it 🤘Man the days of WASP & Blackie Lawless 🔥
Blackies voice was so underrated. Great vocalist.
W.A.S.P. !!!! Yes!!! Not unlike Ronnie James Dio, Blackie's voice was made for METAL !!!
One the most underrated vocalist, writers, and musicians for sure
Funny thing about the saw blades. Blackie also had one for the crotch area as well as one that shot sparks.
Blackie also hated playing the bass. In an interview he calls the bass "a tool of ignorance". That's why after Randy Piper and Steve Riley left the band, Blackie took over rhythm guitar and they hired Johnny Rod.
Seeing this reminded me of the documentary, "Decline of Western Civilization 2, the Metal Years"
Great reaction to a very underappreciated band.
I first saw W.A.S.P in 1983 at the country club in Reseda California. I have been a fan since. Fun reaction
The look on her face😂😂❤❤
WASP was always one of my favorite bands !!!!
You need to show her The Idol and Hold onto my heart (the 1992 live accutic version is nice) and Forever Free. I think she might like those alot. You could throw one of their wilder ones in there like Scream until you like it from the movie Ghoulies II or Blind in Texas. They have so many good ones.
Speaking of guitars Chris also had the Budweiser guitar as well but I believe that was after The Last Command
Best concert I ever attended was WASP opening up for Iron Maiden 🤘🤘🤘
This band was just phenomenal. Blackie's voice, lyrics and ability to write memorable, catchy choruses, and Chris Holmes, who is just a BEAST...one of my all time fave bands
Need to react to the Idol by WASP
The Crimson Idol is a top 5 concept album of all time. It’s a masterpiece!!!!
now this is a real classic!!
off topic-- the pyrotechnics you saw in the Rammstein live video for Du Hast? yes- they do perform them here in the states (I was in the nose bleed seats in San Antonio a few years ago and I could STILL feel the flames
Love W.A.S.P.
You should do an acoustic song of WASP for Alexis to show the vocal abilities of Blackie. I think he is highly underrated.
Raging Storm is a good one for vocals. Then listen to Keep Holding On. Those are opposites on the vocal range.
Speaking of spiders. Blackies´ bass is shaped in a way so it has a spider as a motive.
Blackie also sings that he does something... like a beast !
He' s an Animal ! 🤘 ;)
You should definitely listen to "the idol" or "the great misconceptions of me" blackie absolutely kicks some ass on this
Very underrated band
I saw WASP live about 1985 when they opened for Black Sabbath without Ozzy nor Dio. I had their patch on my Winter jacket. I was only one who liked them in my junior high.
Woo Hoo, I love it, W.A.S.P was one of my favorite go to bands To listen
to in the 80's, And I still.
Listen to them today, They have a ton of great tunes to choose from.
Dude... I was in 8th grade and heard this song. I was a KISS fan....but this kicked it up a bit! I had to learn how to play this song !!! This was kind of it for me. Not a big fan of theirs, but the guitar and video hit me in my 13 year old age. I then got dokken and i knew i had to play. Had a good career. Thanks to the predecessors!!! 👏🤟🍻
You should ck out their catalog I think you'd be surprised n will enjoy it especially their later albums a lot more mature songwriting about religion war politics drug abuse etc. to me their greatest band to come out that scene n one only ones to get outta that party sex style mindset. Might not have made as much as ratt etc but they were consistent with 15 albums not a lot cn say that
Personally I like the desert imagery. Having lived in New Mexico during most of my metal years, I get it. The desert is a harsh environment, and only wild things that can actually survive there live in it, so to me, it's a perfect setting for metal. And, if you're riding a motorcycle, you HAVE to ride it in the desert! It's a thing. And I don't even have a motorcycle. 😀
W.A.S.P. was one of the "shock rock" bands of the 80s, along with Motley, Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper (who really started the 'shock rock' thing in the 70s), Kind Diamond, etc. Then you had the pretty boy hair metal bands like Bon Jovi, Ratt, Poison. Motley Crue fell into that category for me during their Theater of Pain era. Nothing wrong with that. I consumed it all! 🙂
And, if you think about it, no matter what category of metal it was, it was sure to shock someone! My dad HATED the guys that looked pretty, so I figured that was pretty shocking to him! 🤣
I'm fr nm also n I agree with u. Ther my all time fav band. I especially love their later albums. Blackies is one the most underrated vocalist and song writers
Of al of the Sunset Strip 'hair bands' W.A.S.P. were by far the best musically.
And.that continued up till now, with an almost unbroken string of great records.
You should show the famous clip with Chris Holmes in the pool drinking
Seeing heavy metal bands in broad daylight always gives me The Fonz jumps the shark vibe.
love this song!
And Shock... BY FAR. WASP. GOLGOTHA..... ONE OF THE GREATEST CHRSTIAN SONGS about The CRUCIFIXION EVER PRODUCED...VIDEO AND ALL...EPIC....
Sleeping in the fire .. headless children.. by wasp they're awesome songs
Need to dive into some Headless Children and Crimson Idol territory
My 1st exposure to W.A.S.P. was in the back of Metal Edge or RIP or one of the other metal magazines I got every month, they had lyrics to some songs every month and one month, Wild Child was the song. I had never heard them before but after reading the lyrics I sought them out to listen to it and loved it. It's sad Blackie uses tracks during live shows now.
Blackie quite often wore pants with the rear cut out. “I’m blind in Texas” and “I wanna be somebody” are safe ones for UA-cam. Staying in shock rock try Alice Cooper.
And yes, I watched Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins religiously.
@@flickeringboxofficial So you will remember that while Marlin Perkins was in his office talking about whatever cute animal he was holding and playing with, he'd then say "Now let's go to Jim, wrestling a 7 foot alligator! Jim, how are you doing?" And poor Jim (was that his name? I'm drawing a blank now) would be fighting for his life! 🤣
The Idol...now there's a song by WASP.
W.A.S.P. was always a very underrated band. I remember that a lot of the metalheads I hung with looked down at them until they heard The Idol. Then they began to realize the band's talent. I still listen to that song all the time. It's just too good not to.
Chris Holmes in that pool drinking bottle after bottle of vodka is the best it's in that western civilization movie
REACT TO MORE WASP!!!!! THEY ROCK
Oh wow, can't believe you're hearing W.A.S.P!! Saw them live with KISS way back in the day, amazing show, I honestly thought they out performed the headliner KISS, that's saying a lot!
That scene with the vodka was from The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. Thay movie is one of the best music documentaries ever made.
W.A.S.P My Jam! 🤘🏼🤘🏼. Blackie Lawless.. seeing them live as a kid so awesome
Drummer always cracks me up with his "stiff" drumming. Great glam band.
Loved this album
She would love,,, cries in the night!!!
This video is the cheesest of the cheesest. 🧀🧀🧀. The epitome of 80's metal.
These guys were on the border of being shock rock. Mostly just through the image they put on. Then black and death metal came along and made them look tame.
Awesome cool band, jamming yeah 🤘😆🤘🎸🎸🥁🎤
I saw them on my 20th birthday with Metallica in 85.
In a song called Animal Blackie screams "F**k Like A Beast" it always gives me chills.
WASP!!!!!!!! FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
I love it
Saw WASP open for Metallica in '85 (yes, for some of this tour WASP was the headliner, but not the night I saw them), also with Armored Saint who came on before WASP.
I loved Blackie and this song so much I got “ Wild Child “ tattooed on my upper thigh!!!!😂❤
W.A.S.P is still one of my favorite bands to listen to. So many amazing songs that people have either forgotten about or just havent discovered.
There are some real gems even on their 2015 album "Golgotha" one to check out there which is kind of ballady but powefurful with jist a lot of repeated lyrics but "miss you" is fire! Love the guitar work in that song. Should definitely cjeck it out even just for yourselves and not to make a reaction to.
Blackie has some of the best rock ballads by anyone so underrated
Blackie and his river dance. It's like he restless leg syndrome.
LOVE WASP!!
Love
Greatest band ever
Had a good voice, WTF, he still has an amazing voice. Out sings guys 30 years younger than himself.
Love W.A.S.P.
Wish I could find more reactions/reviews. Not sure why there aren't more from them amd bands like Danzig, Kix and one ive only seen one reaction for one of the most underrated bands Princess Pang. I think they may not be well know enough. I feel like you may be more "in the know" for the time period. If you can find these bands and react to them would be amazing.
God, I miss the 80s
It's now been said that during the Holmes video he was drinking mainly water in a vodka bottle.
Would Love to see you guys cover Triumph Magic Power at the US Festival. Amazing song and performance.
Haven’t seen the mutual Omaha opening forever
The Idol and Golgotha are awesome. Sorry if I spelled Golgotha wrong, possibly wrong twice. Oh don't forget about Chainsaw Charlie's Morgue. Can't go wrong with any actually.
You should react to The Crimson Idol one song at a time.
Keep up the great work.
I became a Christian in the mid 80's. I found out several years ago that Blackie Lawless is now a Christian. I love that! So is Alice Cooper. And Nicko McBrain, the drummer for Iron Maiden! That's Awesome! 😁👏
I remember Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom well. Not as dramatic as the Planet Earth videos. It was very kid friendly. And if I remember right, it was followed by Tarzan. Oh, the memories of a childhood TV addict. 😄
Love your channel, guys! 👍😊
What a classic!! You should check out Lake of Fools, and how well it syncs with the video for the song. (Burch, do you remember Betty Boop? 🤔)
