I usually run it and I've filmed it before from a runners perspective but I was in Ireland when race entries opened for this year's race and so I missed out! 🙃 Yes Doris is absolutely awesome! 🥰
The Puddle of Doom was a lot lot deeper a couple of weeks before, up to my knees when I ran it. Just a shame the rain died off that week! As one of the original founders of the TNT, I love your enthusiasm for the race 😃
Thank you so much! I really love the running community and the way we can support each other and bring each other so much joy. This race is just awesome for that! 😃
Well done , great editing , i wouldnt even know how , boo to all the tree hiders , we could see you all , hiss 🤣🤣, i bet you were hoarse after all that shouting but it seemed to do them good , stay warm and have a lovely week 😉
While watching this, I kept thinking about what are usually thought of as the "big" sports, with tens of thousands of spectators. But those are just spectator sports. Here, hundreds of people turned up to actually participate--and they looked like they were having a lot of fun doing it. So what is the true "big" sport? Seems like it should be the one that a lot of people actually want to be involved in. I really loved this video.
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments to Nics video. It meant so much to me for her being there to support!!❤❤❤ i am so glad Njc Njc is in my life. I cant wait to do a big adventure with her and Pop's this year XXXXXX
Cool video Nicola. Didn't you run this race in another video? It looked familiar. It looked like a huge race as well. Not much for races going on here at the moment....in winter they sort of set up. Did blast through a half marathon last weekend which I did pretty well at. Always exciting to watch your videos and am looking forward to the next one!
Wow you have a great memory! Yes I filmed this race from a runners perspective last year. I'd have entered this year but entries opened whilst we were in Ireland and it had filled up by the time I realised. Well done on your half marathon. That's the plan for this morning but just a training run. Sounds like you will have run yours a lot faster! That's the beauty of races though isn't it?! 😃
@@NicolaRuns yes. Last week I ran mine in 1-54-15. I was hovering with the 2-hour pacer and around half way I decided to push the pace. Really happy with it and it gives me confidence for the upcoming Las Vegas race
Who would have thought a video of people running through a puddle would be so entertaining? Especially with the disappointingly low number of people coming a cropper. 🤷🏻♀️ The chanting of “straight through, straight through,” somewhat reminiscent of Lord of the Flies, added a certain something extra though. 🤣 And Doris was indeed awesome. ❤
Awwwwww I love Doris so much! It was very disappointing how few people even slipped! The Puddle of Doom needs to have a word with itself before next year! 🤣
Hi Nichola, what a great video - as you said a real 'feel good' event. Did you know that your video showed 788 runners (I counted using one of my litter picking 'clickers') splashing through the 'puddle of doom'. (I didn't count those who 'bailed out' and dodged past behind the bushes - a few dozen?) Are there other 'puddles of doom'? We have one puddle that might qualify here in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, but it's not a regular running trail and only a few inches deep. Plenty of mud though.
Thank you 🤗 Oh that's cool! I wondered how many runners there were! Yes there are several other impressive puddles on the course, this one is the best one though and the only one with it's own name 😃
I have to say Nicola, I wasn't sure if I needed a 30 min video of people running through a puddle. By the time it finished, I really enjoyed it. I hope all the runners who went through the trees end up watching this and have a mixture of regret and deep shame
I laughed so much at the "regret and deep shame" 😂😂😂 I ran parkrun with my friend Vicky who avoided the puddle and made sure we joked with her about this 🤣 TBF I wasn't sure people would want to watch it either but I thought, as a runner, I'd like to see my puddle run. So while cheering I just set the camera up and I figured maybe only the people who ran it would watch it but that it was nice to make it even if only for them 🤗
I'm afraid to say that it's usually a lot deeper and that the puddle of doom was lacking a little doom this time! Just one guy fell over and one guy lost a shoe in the puddle! Everyone else was fine?! Most disappointing 🤣
Great to see Doris. She's a character 😂😂 Looks like a great run. You will have to enter next year 🚶♀️🚶♀️

Thanks! It's such an awesome race! Yeah the puddle wasn't as deep this year but it was still awesome 😎😃
Loved the lady who immersed herself in the puddle 😂
Isn't she wonderful?! That's lovely Doris 🥰🥰🥰
What a fantastic feel good video this is, well done to all of the runners

I love your thinking on this and couldn't agree more. And there is definitely a bigger net positive effect from mass participation 😃

Bravo Doris! Full commitment to the bit 🦩❤
Isn't she awesome?! 😍😍😍
Hope Poppy got better quickly xx
Thank you, gosh she was SO poorly for so long! An awful chest infection bless her but she's all better now thankfully. Hooray for antibiotics! 🎉🎉🎉
I wondered who cheered everybody through that wretched puddle !
🤣🤣🤣 It was me! 🙋♀️😊
Loved to see some of my friends there. Ackworth Road Runners and my friend sarah.
I hope none of them snuck through the trees! 😜

Is it mean to petition for some tape to block off through the trees?!
Lol... Vicky definitely needs this! 🤣 We really wanted that cyclist to stay there totally blocking the path but unfortunately he didn't 🙈🤣
PS think you probably had the same problem as me when it opened, it was whilst we were both in Ireland
