What a wonderful location to do a Christmas day park run with tinsel in the hair and yeah, a really dodgy Christmas jumper 😂. Thank you so much for sharing Nicola and for taking the time in 2023 to video so much. Here’s to 2024 and loads more park run stuff. As always all the best and take care. Oh and who can blame Poppy on Christmas Day, presents much more exciting no doubt 😁
Poppy usually loves Xmas Day parkrun but I think because we were already with family then she didn't want to leave them! ❤️ I'm so happy we went here Xmas Day. It really was just incredibly wonderful in every way! Lol my Xmas top was a brilliant charity shop find 😃😜
Wow - Hollyrood looks incredible! Definitely on my list. I love how parkrun takes us to such beautiful places on days when we might not otherwise get out ☺️♥️
Thanks, yes it really is an epic parkrun! I'd certainly recommend it 😍 lol yes I totally thought I could stop and then catch Carla up but she was gone 🤣
Wow looks wonderful there apart from the weather. I have never been but would love to. Funny seeing xmas this time of year - merry xmas. Lovely to see Lady Bug. Thank you for sharing.
Loved Christmas day parkrun, ours was much flatter lol.. Weymouth esplanade has no hills but the sea is touching distance, there were a lot of swimmers out as they follow the parkrun with a swim across the harbour!,.. The jumper is truly wonderfully awful in all the right ways 😂 ooo yes imagine a 10k parkrun option.. That would be awesome but perhaps a tad unfair for volunteers xx yayyy for having run fun on crimble morning x
Very cool run Nicola. I actually was Edinburgh for a day trip on a cruise. Out of all the stops I think I'd like to revisit and explore Edinburgh a bit more. The cruise things only give you a small taste of each stop. That hill did look crazy long. I know we have some races like that here in the mountainous west side of the US. Sort of a bummer that it was at the start. I think the longest hill climb I did started at around 4500 feet and ended at just shy of 9000 feet over a course of a half marathon. I actually liked your outfit and it was so nice to see how many people were in attendance. I've been racing for over 2 decades and I don't think I've ever raced on Christmas Day. Loved the video and all the scenery you film.
Great run, Nicola. I love Holyrood Park. I have climbed Arthur’s Seat 3 times on visits to Edinburgh. I definately want to this parkrun sometime but I have just booked my flights to Ireland for this Summer. Enniskillen & Narin Beach which you reviewed are the ones I am hoping to do there in August. The long slope in the video reminds me of Bedgebury Pinetum where the first 800 metres were uphill when I did it. They have now changed their course.,
Great video Nicola, stunning looking course. Had to chuckle when you focused on Carla with her face covered as I immediately thought 'Santa about to rob a Post Office' seconds before you said pretty much the same thing 😂😂
This is another one of those parkruns where the scenery is so spectacular that I'm afraid I'd get distracted from what I was there for. I loved all the Santa hats and holiday outfits. It's not surprising that so many people wanted to share that experience.
Thanks Nicola. As always great to see your enthusiasm and joie de vivre. Merry Xmas and keep the videos coming. They are part of my post parkrun cool down! Boiling hot here so we need the cooldown. Andrew. Sydney
Thanks Andrew, oh my goodness I remember how hot Sydney is! We were there in a heatwave and did St. Peters parkrun. Absolutely loved it! I wish I'd been filming back then as you have some unreal parkruns down there! 😍😍😍
This is making me nostalgic for Christmas even though it's only January 13th !! 🎅🙂. Hope you had a lovely time with your family in chilly Jocko land 🥶. Nice video as always Nicola.
I did the RD stint at Stevenage parkrun on Christmas Day and it's always a special parkrun plus we had a mahoosive (for us) turnout of 499. Great atmosphere and great vibes.
Awww that's awesome! I think we just literally went up and down Arthur's Seat! You obviously had more wisdom than us... Or were less hungover than we were 😳😜
@@NicolaRuns We were staying for a few days so we did go up Arthur's seat too and did Portobello parkrun whilst were were there , too. I think we said at the time that Hollywood would make a perfect parkrun!
You wondered about the grade for the uphill. From my Strave, it looks like it is consistently approx 6-8%, with some bits up to about 12% or thereabouts :-)
Remember that pod when I pointed out Danny’s rhyming faux-pas with Choc and Loch? I thought you were on board. You had one chance for moral superiority. And you left it out there. In the Loch. 😂
Good video. I’ve done every Scottish Parkrun venue & that’s one of my favourites.
Thanks, I can see why, I absolutely loved it! 😍😍😍

I've been looking forward to thus video! 😍🏴👍🏼
This was one of my favourite parkruns of the year! 😃
Great video, it looked a fantastic parkrun. I loved how Carla did a Poppy and did a cheeky sprint finish to beat you 😃
Thanks, yes it really is an epic parkrun! I'd certainly recommend it 😍 lol yes I totally thought I could stop and then catch Carla up but she was gone 🤣

Thanks Rich 😊 lol that's exactly what Carla looked like didn't she?! 🤣🙈🤣
Looks amazing - definitely now on the list and will help my county map 😁
It's honestly just awesome, you'll love it! 😍

You're right! I was so distracted by the scenery, it was just gorgeous! Even on a grey day 😍😍😍
It’s okay to be there for the scenery too!
@@Oliviacatriona it certainly is! 😍😍😍

Sales of Santa hats doing well! Best wishes on your adventures in 2024.
Lol, yes quite! It was fun looking at a sea of Santa hats! Thanks, wishing you a year of awesome adventures too 😃

Nice video as always Nicola.
Oh no Tony! It's a fair while to wait! It's the best parkrun of the year so it's worth waiting for 😃😃😃

@@Tonyr2 there's just nothing like it is there?! 😃
That looked incredible with the views together with the Christmas Day experience!
It was unbelievable, I felt so lucky to be there on that day! 😍
Wow that's definitely one for my to do list! Great video - thank you x
Thanks 🤗 Yes add it for sure, you'll love it 😃
Another great video Nicola! My parkrun thermal robe… I affectionately call my ‘parkrobe’!
Thanks! 😃 Ooh I LOVE parkrobe 🤗
We did almost exactly this route in 2019 when visiting Edinburgh, and we were staying just behind Hollyrood. Freedom run before it was a parkrun!
Awww that's awesome! I think we just literally went up and down Arthur's Seat! You obviously had more wisdom than us... Or were less hungover than we were 😳😜

Well done , i think your jumper is charming 😬 id love to visit Scotland , maybe one day 😊
Thank you, I love it too, it was a charity shop find. You'd LOVE Scotland, you should definitely get up there at some point! 😃
Great video as always Nic! I ran NYW today. It was alright but I ran with my mum! ❤
Thank you so much 🤗

Ooh that sounds a LOT tougher than it felt on the day! 🙃
Noooo way on a xmas day, but cant say i blame you for escaping to jockland!!!!
🤣 what do you mean no way?! Yes way! 😃😃😃 It's the best parkrunday of the year! My absolute favourite 🥰

This made me laugh so much 🤣🤣🤣
This one is on my bucket list and I'm yet to do a Scottish parkrun
It deserves to be on your bucket list 😍😍😍
