Well done Nicola. It looks like a beautiful morning. We are starting to get some of that weather in the US here in northern Utah. I've run on my local bike trail many times in the morning after a frozen night and been treated to icy sights. Wish we had a park run or two here -- the race season is pretty much over until mid-January but on the plus side I can focus on training / recovery etc. I raced a lot in 2023. As always, I absolutely love your ParkRun tourism videos. One of my favorite things to do on a Monday and watch your race experience.

You mentioned last week in a comment that your next run would be your 650th. I haven’t run in subzero conditions, but have done some cycling in the cold, and that looked like a lot of fun.

o wow this was a great one to watch loved the trees and the course i have 5 more park runs to do and 5th one will be my 25th which i am planning to do at Huddersfield not sure when yet with all these races coming up and i can not wait to do the Grassington 5 mile trail race
Very similar to our local parkrun (Manor Field, Whittlesey), very friendly volunteers and with an average number of 75-80 participants, it never feels crowded. I have reynauds too and can recommend woolly mittens for keeping hands warm. I wear two pairs and they’re very warm. 😊
I think those ice crystals are called hoarfrost, but there really should be a prettier name for something so beautiful. All the ice-covered spider webs made it look like the trees had been decorated for Christmas.
Ooh... I'd totally grow a beard to see what this is like 🤣 that must have been cool! I imagine it's a lot better on beards than on the top of your head. Mine melted almost as soon as I'd stopped running as there is just too much heat given off! Huge congratulations on the run. My parkrun PB is 23:00 so there... That's your next target 💪 let me know when you smash it 😃 getting a PB at parkrun is such an awesome feeling! 🎉

I like having one that fits over my pack so I don't have to mess about taking it on and off. In terms of money just have a think about whether you're going to be using it in extreme mountain conditions where you'd want to buy something decent or whether you're just looking for a mandatory kit list waterproof, in which case check out Harrier Trail Running kit. They're really reasonably priced! Good luck jacket shopping 😊

It’s a Hoar Frost, when water vapour in the site hits already frozen surfaces, it then freezes into crystals. Frosticles sounds much nicer though!!!
