You're a very intelligent person, then your answer is probably NO. Ok, fine, you're right. But most people say YES.
Then someone says "But being pretty or rich can be an addon". I say "Hell no!"
Only in 2% of the cases it is the ideal thing to be pretty/rich, or it is an addon, but in most cases no!
I've had women that for most guys are impossible to achieve. Look, I'm not saying they can not achieve them, I'm saying they believe they can't, they're people that think you should work out first, be pretty or rich just to have a chance with that kind of women, but while they were socially conditioned, I was there, an average guy, poor (A random person with a simple job), fucking those girls real hard. Because all I had to do was to bring them to my own world.
Society teaches you a lot of garbage, that you should get rich first, so you can be happy, but look, when you invest all your time and efforts in money, despite of anything, you may get rich, but would you be really happy? Would you feel like you're doing something good from your life? No, and if you lose the money, you lose everything, specially your self esteem.
I'm not saying you can't get rich, sure you can (Shoryuken :]), even the Bible says you should have a glorious life full of wealth. But look at the happiest people of the world, they're all naturals, they live, they're not saying "I should get rich first to achieve this, I should have a beach house in Malibu, so I'll have a lot of friends", instead, they may be poor, middle class, or even rich, but all their success comes from themselves, they live in the world like this "Fuck-off, I'll be happy on my way and people will love me this way, I don't want to be a product of society, I want and I'm going to be a product of myself, haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love."
The guy in the video is not himself, he's _not_ doing things because he loves to do, he's just following what society tells him to do, and for that, his life is a total disaster.

I love this, I haven't logged on to my Facebook in a couple of months for this very reason, it's just filled with people showing off. I wonder how many people go out to just to take pictures and post them later on Facebook to get likes and make their life have meaning. Kinda sad really.

I also sometimes find myself in the situation in which I see a really beautifull video on facebook from some "friends" and they all seem super Happy and having a lot of fun, and then suddenly I notice that I feel really sad. I mean really really sad.Cause I werent there, anyone invitet me. Or these people aren't really my friends. The stupid thing is that I should be realy happy with my life, and normaly I am. Only in this moments I notice that somone is missing... Not that I havent any friends. I have and I also go out with them just not that much and when I do it doesnt seem as funny like the videos I watch from other People. And than this one thought that doesnt go out of my mind " These people have a much better life then me" I know that this isnt true, but Im thinking it anyway, and Im feeling like that anyway. Kleyko The dark truth is that all his "friends" on his fb most likely have a similar shitty life as well, he just couldn't see that part of their lives. Before you even consider getting depressed on FB, go in with the assumption that almost everybody on there (No matter how rich) has a shitty life and a profound feeling of incompleteness. Those who are actually happy probably don't spend 12h/day on FB, they will be too busy having fun.

This is prove that when someone says how they are really feeling, that's when you get blocked and ignored like as if you're not supposed to be bored of life or you're not supposed to be depressed. So it kinda sounds as if people want the fake you rather than the real you.

Of course though, in some people's case (like my own) I'm a couple of states away from a majority of family and friends and things like Facebook is a great way to keep up beyond random texts and a bunch of MMS pics.
But of course, exceptions to every rule. The fact I, being honest, unnecessarily replied to you kinda shows the previous sentence's subject. So, horray for UA-cam conversation?
The fact, is that you're not forced to show luxury and fancy shit on facebook or even put the date of your birthday if you don't want to. This social network will not stop you to have real friends who call you and see you frequently !
For me it's just a simply, fast and free way to communicate (also yeah it's fun to see all these people trying so hard to be the "coolest" but it's still a useless extra).
The REAL problem is not facebook, it's how people uses it. And facebook knows all of that, so they play with the human genre to earn money.

Facebook is just a MEDIUM. If your character sucks then Facebook does. If you friends act like this then their character is ultimately at fault. Facebook just displays it like like a Mirror. And some people are blind. You can only change yourself. Ignoring it and not using Facebook changes absolutely nothing. People still behave the same. So the only thing you can do is not behave like this and work against it by stuff like this video or being more open about your own stuff and listening to you own friends even if nobody clicks like. Nuff said.

Newer generations are found to be increasingly depressing because they compare their current lives with what they see their friends doing on facebook. On facebook everyone looks 100% happy, which makes it harder to endure one's own problems since it feels like "you are the only one going through ups and downs". The video is trying to say "don't compare your life to what other's are posting on facebook" and advertises a life where you try to look at the "timeline" as little as possible.

This video brings it all to what it is. people live a lie on fb. i feel so sorry for them as they feel the need to tell all about their life to paint a rosy picture when in reality they are all in pain. we live in the real world now! i was told about this video and just text the link to everyone in my contacts list in the hope they will start living and stop dying on fb. I took a trip to South Africa last year and lived outside of Cape Town for a month and a half. I posted some really nice pics and videos and it really was an amazing time in my life. The thing is, my life isn't normally like that. How I presented it. I am just a regular dude with a very average life. On top of that the entire trip was paid for and accommodation was also because I lived with an amazing friend from South Africa. It's all about perspective and presentation. The best things in my life are around me right now. My daughter, my parents, my friends and my brother and they are all local. They don't exist in a far away place out of reach and they are real. Be good to each other people, and never forget each other. Peace.

Yes a lot of people turn away when you post actual sad stuff on fb but when my Mum was dying of Cancer and I first made a post to do a blanket update to everybody on the situation the support I got back was phenomenal. Same happened when one of my friends finally admitted that he had been suffering with depression. Yes some people won't care but the people who actually matter will always have your back. You know there's something seriously wrong with your life when there is nobody there to lean on, even if it is through social media.

It's interesting how in the end, when the main character just post on facebook the painful truth, he feels that his life sucks, someone on his friend list choose to hide him, it's like people don't wanna see things like that, just wanna see that everyone has perfect lifes, and all it's great, and everybody is happy, and whatever that going against that fake happiness and perfec life that everyones its pretending to have, it's a shock for them so they tried to avoid it, in this case, hiding it.

Can you please tell me, how to make facebook looks like in this video? Awesome theme, clean and flat..
***** sure, I also thoughtthat this could be just an imitation of Facebook page, however I searched a little and found interesting browser extention named Stylish that make sites looks different, and I already found a theme that looks very nice just like the theme in this video. Thats why it's possible that the theme used in video is real.
We are now sadly/unfortunately live in a 'YOLO', 'The Secret', 'motivational-speaking' era, where god seems to forbid that we can't even be perfectly *HONEST* with each our own sadness, anger, frustrations, the harsh truth, and the real & bitter reality..
In other words, we have mistaken objectivity for negativity, and wishful-thinking for positivity.
We have become a largely ignorant, complacent, superficial, shallow, & fake society/humanity, ironically, in this so-called "modern" era..
