you guys never reacted to the third insidious movie!!
NIKKI IS SO CONFUSED AT THE END!
Funny thing about “Chad” he’s played by Keanu’s Stunt Double from the original movie
And the director of John Wick movies lol
and that's his rl name too
Ha I didn't know that thanks 👍
Did you know that “Chad” is played by Keanu’s Stunt Double from the original movie?? Sorry just thought it was important to say this because i read this very same comment in all matrix resurection videos. Have a nice day!
‘Handsome Chad’
"What the F*CK did i just watch!?"
I felt the exact same way Nikki...
Makes sense this movie is just as misunderstood as the trilogy.
@@chand911 It's not misunderstood. It's just not good.
36:12 "The Matrix retirement" So hilarius 😂 You made my day
Thanks from France 🇫🇷
That had me dying. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The key to understanding this movie is the scene where Smith says "Warner Bros is going to make Matrix 4 with or without us." That was literally the case in real life, so instead of letting the franchise be completely taken out of their hands, Lana Wachowski used the opportunity to make the story about a creator reckoning with the legacy of their past work. It's very metatextual and that's going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.
And those powers that be let her go trough with it!!
@@T1hitsTheHighestNote Of course, because all they cared about is the bloody money.
Shit is shit. Its that simple. We are watching a movie not an shitty metacrictisim. And Matrix had universal messages not personal messages. And no, saying "Fuck off" to Warner Bros. is more respectable. It was just for money. Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving did the right thing.
@@dugubuduyustug matrix was always personnal, you need to be really blind to not see that
@@davidthirugnanakumar7888 You are right, it was. The thing is, it wasnt that obvious and you could view it from other angles. But the metacrictisim in Matrix 4 is far too obvious and it blocks the story from being a good story. That wasnt the case in the prequels. Instead of straight up giving the messages, they had decent analogies that you needed to think to understand. And they werent blocking the story from being good.
So to Steven’s question about the threat: there was a period of peace for a long time, which is how the humans were able to build that new city and make the progress they made. But there was a machine civil war that broke out once the power plants stopped producing as much energy (the peace allowed humans to leave the matrix whenever they wanted). This is what led to the Analyst creating a new matrix that used Neo and Trinity as the main source of power. Humans hooked up to it are enslaved again, but it’s not all machines vs humans anymore. Some machines have chosen to stay working with humans for the sake of remaking the world
I had to watch the Animatrix anthology PRIOR to watching Matrix Resurrections to understand most of the movie. Without it, none of the movie would have made any sense (to me). And like Steve, by the time they got to the city of IO, they lost me and was just watching for the action.
But what power does neo and trinity provide? It's just body heat isn't it?
@@uchrisdaley no, it has to do with the power their brains generate due to the anomaly’s code. This is why people really needed to rewatch Reloaded and Revolutions before going into this. Particularly the architect scene that breaks down exactly what “the one” is as it pertains to the system/matrix lore. As someone who recently watched them all before seeing this 4th one, I wasn’t confused by the mechanics of it, but if you only saw the sequels like once years ago, I get where you’d be confused watching this.
@@edwardpolenzani1039 thanks, what power does their brain generate compared to everyone else? Like what makes them so special? I have a hard time of seeing this as more than a "omg power of love" thing
@@uchrisdaley he just told you. So, what you're saying is you understand what he's saying but you don't understand what he's saying.
I could definitely see Nikki rocking the Bugs hair.
Steven: “Call me crazy, but it feels like things are a little contradictory.”
The Analyst: “We don’t use that word here.”
Did I hear Robin Williams “BANGARANG” line from hook when trinity flies??? 😂😂 love y’all
It’s extremely rare for me to actively despise a movie, but I really did in the case of this one. It’s insultingly dumbed down, totally misses the mark on nostalgia on multiple occasions, returning characters are literal jokes, fight choreography was…what fight choreography? Camerawork was clearly overseen by Ray Charles.
Smith is a virus that wants to roam free. The purged programs can come back if the Matrix rolls back to the previous version. Either heroes death triggers the reset. The Analyst wants his version to stay. There was no conflict before the escape that I could see. Neo was just aware enough to create the modal that made his Morpheus/Smith game character self aware. I think the end goal is to make humanity aware and give everyone a choice to stay or exit, instead of the few that see the glitches or code.
The video game is in VR so some of the "flashbacks" are from the game (see Unreal Engine 5 promo) while other flashbacks is as Neo see it. The analyst likes Neo and Trinity miserable. All those game employees as bots saying the same thing over and over again but just in a different tone.
If so, why did he try to kill Trinity? Why kill them both?
@@T1hitsTheHighestNote why do who try to kill Trinity?
@@Flagsitta The Analyst
@@T1hitsTheHighestNoteThe analyst only threatened to kill Trinity to force Neo back in his pod.
To me the entire movie was a fan service to give Neo and Trinity a happy ending .
And set it up for more movies…
@@krd2331 Nah, Lana gave a big fat no to that.
And I'm glad that they're back to life
Not only does Tiffany's husband act like a Chad and the character is named Chad, the actor is a prolific Hollywood stuntman named Chad Stahelski. He was Neo's stunt double on the first Matrix and the stunt coordinator on Reloaded/Revolutions.
Did you know that “Chad” is played by Keanu’s Stunt Double from the original movie?? Sorry just thought it was important to say this because i read this very same comment in all matrix resurection videos. Have a nice day!
Also, Thomas Anderson's "fake" face in the reflections is Carrie Anne Moss' husband
So she's living with a "copy" of Neo and Neo looks like her true love
Steven’s Thumbnail Expression is the Reaction/Review.
I was so excited to see this movie and it sucked so goddamn bad. 😩😩😩
The girl who plays Bugs, with the gorgeous hair color, is Jessica Henwick who plays Nymeria, one of the Sand Snakes on Game of Thrones.
Isn't Nymeria Arya's dire wolf? Either way, Jessica Henwick is great in everything!
They used the name twice.. Arya’s dire wolf and Oberyn’s daughter.
@@VillainHoor Nice! I didn't know that, but gotta say I enjoy that character even more in that case. Thanks for confirming!
Shouldn't she have had red hair? 🤔
And that girl from Iron Fist.
"Why was this movies made."
Money is tight.
Nikki hit the nail on the head. If I went to a theater to watch this I would've walked out after 10 minutes.
Seriously? That's my favourite part of the movie. If it fails anywhere it's all in the last two thirds.
Fun Fact: The crew of the ship is actors from Sens8.
The basics of Matrix movies are fairly simple. Don't let the world tell you who you are. Love is only real when you see and accept the authentic person. Encourage the people you love to be the best version of themselves and not succumb to fear of what the world will think. And WAKE UP!!!
This movie refines those Ideas and adds a few new ones.
Most importantly; We're not done. The message was received by a lot of people, but we didn't reach everyone.
Technology is a weapon, but it's also a tool we can use to free ourselves.
The older generation is too concerned with holding on to previous wins, the younger generation understands that it's NOT ENOUGH. The things that inspire you to greatness matter.
Nikki : "did i miss anything between the last Matrix movie and this one?""
Yes, you missed the video game (The Matrix Online) that are part of the official canon where Morpheus looks for Neo's body and fights the machines for it. They tell him it was destroyed but this movie proves Morpheus right because not only did they keep the body but Neo was in fact alive.
The game is a different genre. This does not apply here at all. Is mixing everything in a row good? Nonsense. The canon is 3 films. The canon is the original Morpheus and the original Smith. The game was cool, but it was just an offshoot where you could make money. It's like calling T-shirts with matrix prints canon.
@@playonesong5430 You are wrong.
the fight scenes sucked...
Too many quick cuts
Its a shame, there is Keanu and Chad on set and they still couldnt avoid the same quick cut trash. If they didnt change a thing about this movie, but choreographed and filmed great fight scenes, the audience would forgive them for the rest of this shit show
Oh my fucking god that "BANGARANG" edit from Peter Pan killed me!! 🤣🤣🤣 Looked such bad ewiring hokey as fuck I litterally thought that in the cinema and burst out laughing... My sister was like why you laughing!? I'm like "because this film is basically shiting all over the entire franchise" 💯🤣
I actually enjoyed this Matrix, but I see the story from a different angle that I’ll call “Anti-Fanservice”.😁 It was made so obvious in the first ten minutes that it’s the franchise commenting on itself - and its audience’s expectations. In that respect it’s like *The Last Jedi* or *End of Evangelion* in that the creators know full well they can never be what blew fans away the first time out, so why not indulge in the pure pleasure of f***ing with them? E.g. Luke tossing the saber over his shoulder and huffing off in TLJ - when I saw that scene, my first thought was “Oh… so we’re doing THIS are we?“😂😂😂
I think filmmakers are somewhat justified in doing this with beloved and hugely popular franchises, because we as fans take ourselves and our opinions WAY too seriously sometimes. We want tomorrow’s awesome movie today, but want it to be exactly like yesterday’s. It’s good to be reminded that our perceptions play as much of a role as the objective quality of the work, and that we’ll NEVER be moved as forcefully by ANYTHING as when we saw it the first time. Especially if we were kids then.😎
This movie was a disgrace but nostalgic.
If you want, see Tenet. Is a trip movie and lots of fun
I feel like the crazy french dude in the film helped explain the film for me how the world used to be more one on one conversations a more simple time and now everyone is glued to technology and everything has gone down the toilet. This is basically the matrix itself rebooted but with updates and the analyst is like the programmer trying out ways to make humans obey and oblivious by trying to keep neo and trinity apart when in reality if he had just kept them together they would have stayed plugged in. As for the reboot part where trinity is the one this time instead of neo i think it refers to the power shift of society where women are taking control from men.
Watching this video was 10x better than the movie itself
The comment section here is comedy. As is the way with modern pop culture. Its either the best movie ever and if you disagree then you just dont get it. Or, its complete shit.
The movie is ok. Wouldnt watch it again though. Fight scenes kinda sucked. Too much quick cutting. Story was contrived. It felt like everyone involved was meeting a contractual obligation being there. Some moments looked cool as fuck. Some just looked dumb and poorly thought out. And WB being so meta about itself and the making of the matrix 4 game/movie was obnoxious. That shit only works in good movies. 4/10 and thats being a bit generous.
nikki & steven's faces in the thumbnail sum up the movie perfectly. 😆
I love all 3 Matrix movies, so I was super excited for this one but after watching it I’m 50/50 on it, not quite sure what I think…liked some things lost me with others it just didn’t quite feel like the Matrix we know. Perhaps I’ll wait to see where the next movie goes if they make another but like you guys I’m scared they will mess it up.
I did hear something about the Animatrix (Matrix Anthology that fills in some history) possibly getting more content so hopefully that’s good.
i hear you, i wont comment on the new film, i dont have nice things to say, but i will highly recommend the Animatrix, its a collection of short films based in the matrix universe, very interesting and entertaining!
I enjoyed this one even more than the 3 one. I respect your opinion though.
@@FinalShineInc Thanks! There are some people, me included who actually enjoyed the movie!. Good thing we are not children fighting over "which flavor or icecream" is better.
Movie was hot garbage. I LOVE the Matrix and Matrix Reloaded. They both came out when I was a teenager and were genre breaking films. This newest iteration wasn't it though. Movie didn't need to be made.
Sigh. Am I the only one on the planet that loves this movie?
Yayyyyyyy love this one. Love how they bringing back familiar characters using same lines from original abd introduced new cool characters too. I can relate to Mr Anderson in this one lol. We are in a matrix right lol.
I totally get why a lot of people don’t like this movie. That said…I’m transgender, and the Matrix movies (all four of them) take on a completely new meaning when viewed from the lens of two trans women working out who they were while making the first three, and then one of those trans women looking back of being trans for a couple of decades.
Also, as to whether this movie tarnishes the others…I disagree. It improves two and three retroactively. But I also watched the first three again right before this one with my 13 year old….so it was all fresh.
Exactly! It's has so many themes about being transgender! Agent Smith constantly dead naming Neo, the moment when Trinity claims in power who she is in the face of her "husband" constantly belittling her with "Tiffany" and laughing at her perceptions of herself in Neo's "game"... incredible!
The use of the Rage Against The Machine cover that was performed by the woman who literally pissed all over one of her fans during a concert HAS to be some kinda meta commentary , or something.
This cover song pissed me off more than half the stuff in the movie 😂😂
I do not think this movie tarnished The Matrix! Nothing can! WB wanted sequels. I enjoyed learning about how the machines and humans worked together…I liked the themes in this movie.
I had pretty much the opposite reaction to this movie. I understood the story and liked it well enough, but thought the action was really lacking and disappointing for the standard the original movies set.
It really didn't even need any action
30:30 I just love that sound effect when they get a melon hit. LMAO
i loved it but i could also see why some would not
speaking of, loved the retirement joke. Actually, Matrix Retirement has been made. It is one of the stories in Cloud Atlas (must watch imo) where the old age homers plot to break out of their prison like home (how Matrixy). It even has Smith (Hugo weaving) as a nurse aaaaa
Now i cannot unsee it as Matrix Retirement.
It was the fist thought that popped in my head when you made that joke.
The Matrix Resurrections - A wasted opportunity
Coming to you this December!
I'M SO FUCKING GLAD Steven said "Let it play out". So many people ,when the trailer came out, decided to hate it before it even came out.
Pretty sure no one felt that way....
No one felt that way, everybody loved the trailers but hated the movie later on.
lol
39:13 sums up my thoughts on this movie. I was kinda astonished by how bad it was. The worst thing about this film is that it isn't even "cool". For all their faults, the 2 sequel films at least had some credible action sequences and great visuals with a unique style. This movie had average at best fight sequences, with some terrible camera work. Combined with a convoluted, overly meta story, it makes for a shockingly bad movie.
The whole point of this was meta lol
Saw it last night. For the most part Matrix Resurrections feels like a parody fan film that justs happens to have some of the original actors. The cinematography feels very TV show and not really cinematic a lot of the time, the insert shots of San Francisco look like stock footage and the whole goofy meta element with the Matrix video games and that ridiculous Jude character was the dumbest thing they could have done. The action wasn't that great either, to be honest. Too messy in too tight quarters. And then there is Keanu Reeves with his bored "where did it all go wrong?" expression on his face throughout the whole movie. That is all you need to know. I'm glad there probably will not be a sequel. Enough is enough!
I was all in for the new people and seeing what became of NEO. I felt like fan service. to be honest. I liked the pov of him being a dev or admin keeping tabs on the matrix itself. Everything else felt like catering to people. Maybe it would of been better if we left the classic characters out of it and make it , its own thing.
Matrix always talk about the awakening of Consciousness, Plato's cave.... Neo represents the one who awakens, the fact that Trinity has awakened means that anyone can awaken... dig into that
Maybe it is not complicated, maybe it's just weak or stupid movie, in order to make money they just rely on the success of the original.
They tried to make it hard to understand in order to cover the weaknesses, so the audience will think they are stupid not the movie, and make big room for fighting over stupid movie to make it more popular.
This movie was straight up awful.
1: They never should have made this movie
2: Basically every current movie is catering to this sh$& political climate.
3: Glad to see these movies continuing to flop to prove the point 🤣🤣
Thanks for allowing us to tap in with you as you went through this movie trying to like it but ultimately being disappointed as much as I was when I saw it in the theater. This particularly made it an interesting reaction video.
I feel that maybe there was an interesting premise with the psycholigst and Neo being trapped in therapy sessions but it got way too convoluted way too quick.
I'm even wondering if the creators knew what they were doing when they got Trinity out using that new girl all while riding a motorcycle in the Matrix. It just didn't match up.
First three movies happened. This is a new matrix in which we are all copper tops again. All of the gaming and blue pills are to keep Neo from realizing what’s happening. Even naming the cat Dejavú was done to confuse him
They kept using the exact same "pulse" effect over and over and over and over and over again....It was so lazy.
I really gave this one a chance, but nah. Resurrections is just a cringy, half assed attempt at meta commentary while falling into its own trappings.
The Matrix: Retirement….ya’ll had me roflmao
hopefully they go with that title for the next one, that'd be amazing
This Matrix was the equivalent to The Force Awakens: It was a plagiarized version of the first movie with new characters and special effects.
I hated everything about this movie , story & Trinity being the one or an equal to the one & garbage action & meta references about the Matrix series & acting especially Morphius and Agent Smith . I'm never watching it again , just stopped by to leave a like and a comment to support you guys . Stay safe 🙏❤
I put off watching this video because of how I felt about this film! However I was interested in you guys take on it so here I am. It was very evident how Steve felt just by the look on his face half way thru ! Your disappointment was understandable! I would bet that half of your subs reacted exactly like Nikki......" WTF did I just watch"!! Spot on Nik! Steve was professional and detailed the good and bad along with his plea for them not to make anymore. Guys your humor was the bright spot! The Matrix:AARP remark caused me to spit coffee across my coffee table!! Thanks for your honesty it is refreshing in the reaction channel universe. Somehow I actually enjoyed your reactions to a disaster of a film that's kudos to you both. Looking forward to all you do!

Love your reactions and we usually agree on everything; that being said, I actually loved this, it had fan service, it made fun of itself, and I understood the story. I don't want another Matrix 1, or something better, I love the franchise and enjoy seeing them again, Simple. Just a fun action movie with a lot of nostalgic moments.

@@roelven1282 hahahaha
@@lusther3385 that is so bad no way
Why are in the wrong spots? It's like when we go to a hotel and my wife lays down on the right side of the bed. Just cause we're not home doesn't mean we're gonna be crazy.
Fair opinions you two. For me it was more of a love letter to all of us fans who were all in for the whole franchise up until now. Matrix 1-3, Animatrix, the PC tie-in title, and the MMO. I'm good with this one, but any others are going to have to be stand alone.
About the Smith bit though, don't forget that his and Neo's code is linked together. So to have a Matrix with Neo integrated into it, Smith has to exist to balance him out. Any future plots with Smith will prolly change that up though with Trinity's upgrade.
After watching the reaction, I can seriously say I can definitely see the meaning behind the movie. The many meanings actually.
I am not certain why it was so poorly received. I mean Scream 5 had a higher score overall. (And it is a great movie as well)
I think I will pick this up, so I can see all of it. I think also this one will need further explanation (follow up films) or time for it to be more widely received. It is missing Morpheus and Agent Smith. And that seemed like the biggest gripes.
To answer the final question:
Simple.....No. Is Star Wars tarnished because my generation hated the prequels just as much if not more than the new generation hated the sequels? (And we did trust me)
Is The Lord of the Rings ruined because of The Hobbit?
People in this day and age want the past, but get pissed when the do and or do not get it.
They bitch when they get what they want EXACTLY, or do not get what they want.
I am probably the only person in the world who truly loved a completely different direction of Last Jedi. But I am old enough to know how new everything was when the original trilogy came out.
I also think there was less effort in this BECAUSE the original film makers DID NOT WANT TO DO IT. So they jacked it in order for it to not be good enough to money soak the fuck out of it.
HAHAhA.. Matrix: Retirement, does go with the "Re" theme. And yes, the matrix franchise is now tarnished... like rubbing crap on the original vhs and dvds. They woudl have been better just getting Keanu and Carrie and making an entirely different action movie.
Sweetheart, I'm a Matrix lover and I thought "What the fuck did I just watch?" Yiu ARE NOT alone 🤣
No the series isn't tarnished. I'm here for another two sequels. I would definitely watch Matrix AARP (as an old boomer myself)..lolol. That's gonna keep me giggling for weeks. I liked this movie, even if maybe others didn't or found the fight scenes lacking.
NIKKI IS LIKE WTF AT THE END, BASICALLY THE MATRIX IS HARD TO EXPLAIN!
Niki totally agree with you..I loved the others..didn't like this one.. I think Keane is awesome too.
I would love that next title for the movie "the matrix retirement" 😂
Ooof. Turned this POC off after twenty minutes. A turd.
While watching the movie, I didn't see Neo... I just saw John Wick. lol
I was excited to see this movie...but very disappointed after watching. I agree with you Steven should have never been made. Awsome reaction!!
I am happy they made it! I like it, Not as much as the first one, but more than most of recent films. See? the world is BIG and there is space for everyone's opinion. Be happy.
As a fan of the Matrix trilogy, I am traumatized after this film. I am absolutely sure that I need therapy
the 4th one sucks only 1 2 and 3 is the better matrix
Hey guys, nice reactions as always. And I agree with Nikki's assessment of the film. Take care folks.
No, you didn't miss anything, this movie was ass.
Nikki is right this movie could have been better. It didn't need to be made. Like 3 or 4 out of 10.
Is The Matrix the first series of movies that got worse movie by movie? The first 2 were the best by far
Probably not. But to start from where they did with the first one and end up here is a bit disappointing
Think about the terminator and alien series, the first two are all time greats but then so many bad sequels were made that it becomes a joke of a series....
I thought the fight scenes were lackluster af
Look at it this way. WB was going to make it without them. Zak Penn was even writing a script. Lana lost her parents and a close friend in a short amount of time and figured if she couldn't resurrect them then why not the characters she loved. At its heart it's a love story. It's also a film shot during Covid that was supposed to shoot the same time as John Wick 4 but they couldn't do it. I think that why we got so much of the force pushing.
please also react to Last night in soho
Thanks im glad i didn't renew hbo for that.
my 2cents; this isnt a praise or defense but rather an observation. These stories can take a rewatch or two to fully understand everything that is going on. It's almost as if the writers assume you already know whats happening. The same still holds up for this movie. Those flashbacks are short and sweet, almost literal flashes. Not drawn out reenactments that serve as deposition to fill us in on what happened, but quick reminders of key moments to bridge specific elements. While I agree that a good story shouldn't need a flashback to explain what is happening, they do a good job in this movie of keeping the flashbacks short
I wouldn’t call myself a matrix fan. I’ve seen all of them and did quite enjoy this one. Neil Patrick Harris stole the show for me
"Now we have pets!"
The exact phrase that led to the machine war, probably.
Love you guys. I agree with Nikki. This movie was fail sauce.
With all respect, I think alot of people are not thinking about the movie Analytically. They arent trying to make sense of it because their initial reaction is to dismiss what they dont understand and dislike what they dont approve of. The creators of this franchise don't owe us validation for our preconceived notions of what we thought the Matrix was. Its Their Creation, not ours, and we should attempt to decipher why things happened the way they did rather than trying to devalue the story by holding on to preconceived ideas from the past. Everything evolves and everything changes. This story took a turn that no one expected and a lot of people just don't approve of. In truth, theres nothing wrong with not liking something.
But not liking the way a story evolved without truly understanding why it evolved that way is like not liking a new kind of pizza without ever having tried it. Sure you had your old pizza and you enjoyed that, and this new pizza looks different and doesnt have the same ingredients as the old one. But so what? Try it, study it. Find ways to understand why it might make sense.
To deny it merely because you prefer what came before just means one thing. You have a bias that's not allowing you to think outside your own assumptions.
Lastly, I'm not even saying the movie is amazing. In fact, I can definitely see some flaws I hope are corrected in a sequel film. That said I think those who are writing off this film completely are "stuck in a matrix of their own" as Naobi put it. Many have been stuck in their own opinions, assumptions, theories, and conclusions of the Matrix story. In that sense many are "stuck in a matrix of their own" as Naobi says. We need to unplug from our biases and look at the movie more objectively. I say that for myself as much as anyone else. We all need to unplug a bit more, because we've been living in an illusion of assumptions and theories that we all thought were valid. And now we're seeing that maybe that wasn't the case. And instead of being humble and trying to understand it better, some of us are just outright denying any attempt to do so. I think the film was good but not great. 7.5/10 :)
Time will tell if it was a set up for a greater story or just a poorly executed story.
I really didn't have much of a problem understanding this movie. The machines were keeping Neo asleep by convincing him it was all a game and he was having psycotic breaks. I recall in the previous movies where they said that Matrix was it's 6th or 7th version...am i right?? So it's happening again and it's still damn fun to watch.
Here is the main important aspects of the movie explained for both of you:
1) the beginning of the movie takes place in a Simulation (a Modal) with NPCs Thomas (Neo) created, designed to develop the A.I. of the NPCs inside, "Agent Smith" was an A.I. that had traits of Morpheus and Agent Smith, one could call him "Morpheus 2.0"
1.5) all the flash backs are pieces of Neo's real memories, but the blue pills/The Analyst are pushing "Thomas" to think he's having delusional thoughts of things that never happened
2) The CEO/president of Deus Machina is a new version of Smith with some of smith's old code and memories, but is not exact same Smith, but the imprinted code from Neo still allows him to resist and disobey the new Matrix (vers. 7), he also inherited the Orcale's habit for smoking
2.5) The Machines used advanced cybernetic and bio technology to repair and restore Neo and Trinity's injured bodies and re-activate their brains then plugged them back in, it didn't go well at first because of their altered consciousness and connection to The Source, many sentinels close by got triggered to self destruct
3) There was a purge from the Analyst and the "suits" a group of Systems Manager A.I. that want to keep using humans, especially Neo and Trinity as "batteries" plugged into the Power Plant/Matrix system
4) Friendly self-aware sentient machines and A.I. are called *Sythients* like Kujaku and Cybebe they aren't "animals" or "pets", the Synthients helped humans build the technologically more advanced city Io (eye-oh) where humans and synthients live together in peace. The machines that want to still use humans as batteries are in a "cold war" situation with Io after the past civil war of machine vs machine (triggered by less power from the power plants due to more people being unplugged and returned to Zion). Zion unfortunately got destroyed during the civil war
5) Merovigian is now a homeless crazy man because he was stripped of his abilities and his "power" during the purge and The Architect was likely deleted, and the Oracle either vanished or was also deleted during the purge, the Analyst has taked on the roles of both of them.
6) Trinity has a copy of the Source Code in her mind likely due to when Neo revived Trinity in Reloaded, and he unknowingly copied his source code into Trinity. This allowed her to also have the abilities and awareness of "the One" like Neo
7) at the end Neo and Trinity are now essentially the new System Operators for the Matrix system and can get help from the Synthients to remake the power generator system that is no longer dependent on human in pods, and reveal the full truth to the "blue pill" people inside the Matrix and give them a real choice to stay or leave instead of false choices.
to summarize, the movie is about Thomas (Neo) dealing with Depression & Disassociation (as many with Clinical Depression or General Anxiety or even gender dyphoria experience) trauma that was being gaslighted by a fake therapist (the Analyst) , Thomas(Neo) then trying to reconnect with his loved one (Trinity) and then when finally both regain self actualization and agency, them both rising above their trauma & being successful and choosing what they want to do together..
IMO the movie is a 10 out of 10
If explaining that absurd amount of context is necessary to understand the movie, guess what. Its a poorly written movie. Your opinion of the movie cannot be taken seriously of ypu think its a 10/10.
Oh Jesus, dude. It was bad. It was a bad film.
@@crankfastle8138 bingo. We’re at the point where political opinions are shaping opinions of art. People WANT it to be good and will do anything to rationalize why they feel it’s good.
That’s the opposite of objectivity. Shame they don’t realize they can subjectively enjoy an objectively bad movie.
I think the only good thing going for the movie is the romance between neo and trinity, there's nothing else worth seeing here sadly
Smith wasn't really trying to help Neo and Trinity. What he wanted just happen to line up with what they needed at that moment.
Terrible film
Yup you were spot on…this movie is a garbage cashgrab that is a slap to the face to all Matrix fans
"Matrix Retirement" 😂😂😂😂😂
I did not like this movie at all
Chad is chad stahelski the original stuntman for keanu in matrix movies and also director of John Wick movies if you hadn't noticed.
Terrible movie. Love you guys and your reactions
The movie was quite unremarkable. Probably should not have been made.
Nikki, your the best, you wear your heart on your sleeve and tell it like it is. Resurrections is abysmal, plain and simple 😢
03:28 he's Morpheus just recast bc Laurence Fishburne is too old now.
They don’t explain it outright but the Morpheus and smith characters are just new version like an update
I was excited for this movie, fan of the originals. I got home from surgery, I was medicated, enjoyed it for a moment, my 18 year old daughter looks to me and says this looks like fan fiction. I kept asking if this was any good, I can't tell with the drugs slowly fading away from the surgery. I tried to watch it again and man the action is bland.
You may want to say "IN MY OPINION" For example In my opinion you sound stupid, but it doesn't mean that You ARE stupid.
Neil patrick Harris did a great job, Keanu and Carrie are awesome, the resurrection part is cool, it lacks something, and maybe that is a better way to present the story
