I've been going back and collecting games. I've only been getting games that I do plan on playing or playing again since they were childhood games. I got a ways to go to catch up on them all though.

I’d agree, I’ve just bought a ps3 again for the soul purpose of playing the ratchet and clank trilogy that got a ps3 remaster, the nostalgia of those games will be incredible I can’t wait for it to be delivered
"This ps2 case is 2007 and up". Not true, memory cardless cases were formally introduced in 2004. Production of the old style cases ceased in 07. Also, the first year or so of PS2 games in both America and Europe did not have memory card holders.
Please make a documentary about how PlayStation won the 5th generation. All videos I've seen about that moment are from Nintendo or Sega's perspective, and sometimes even depict PlayStation as the villain, when in reality both companies did some mistakes that made them lose competitive advantage.

I guess the grimy situation with the PS2 comes from 3 factors: - it was wildly successful so you have a lot of little kids with cheeto fingers all the way to careless adults with ashtrays handling these; - from the slim version onwards it was very "portable" in the sense that people would be taking their consoles (and games) with them to a friend's house, to parties, to college dorms, etc. so a lot of handling there as well; - the dvd case is simply less grime resistant than cd jewel cases. it's very easy for the inside part of the front cover to be exposed, both from the film coming off at the corners to the hole behind the clips inside that hold the manual.

It's funny because Street Fighter ex3 is actually really good, but I assume the buyer didn't have much of an understanding of fighting games which is why it must've been used once or twice.

i got a ps2 6 months ago from a thrift store for 5 bucks and it worked perfectly fine. Im up to a little over 100 games in my collection since then. Definitely one of my favorite gaming consoles ever
Those Blockbuster cases (and GameCube) allow you to insert a plastic "lock" into that hole in the bottom right. It would prevent people from stealing the disc from off the shelf.
I had a copy of Obscure The Aftermath with Gamestop stickers placed directly on the case art, was able to successfully remove it with some Goo Gone and Rubbing Alcohol, but it was a SLOW project, you gotta be careful. But as long as it's the glossy original case art, and not someone's at-home project, you can use Goo Gone on it and the oil won't bleed through it. But if you tear the art at all, or pull off the glossy layer, it will bleed through, so go slow and steady, be gentle with that sticker and it'll come out beautiful

The PlayStation®2 was, and still is very good at handling EXTREMELY beat up discs. I have a PS2 game called "Herdy Gerdy"(which is my only physical copy of a game) that I found in Dad's 90's french DVD collection, with the box but no manual, and the disc is extremely beat up, extremely scratched, but it works fine, and without slow loading times.
The vice city greatest hits is better because it is guaranteed that the save glitch is completely fixed, on the black label you have to pay attention to the sku number. The only advantage of the black label is that it has one additional song removed in later versions and that is it.
Huh now that you mention it there's a surprising amount of offroad bike games on PS1 Played a fair bit of Supercross 2001 edition when I was small, pretty fun

Kingdom Hearts II, Budokai Tenkaichi, Star Ocean, Tekken 5, KoF, Street Fighter EX3... man, in terms of sheer quality, this lot was overall fantastic

Toothpaste and micro fibre clothes is what i use to fix my discs and it works great.

Star Ocean 3 was awesome and severely underrated! It was the last great Star Ocean game imo. The battle system was so fun.
