Huge respect for Eric Martin for trying his best to keep the beauty of the songs although age is catching up on him. One of favorite bands of all time.
Matt was taught by Pat through most of his illness, matt soon took over the full kit however pat was still playing on stage beside him on a simplified kit. You can't replace him now
RESPECT ... Huge respect for this band ... Unfortunately Pat died and like Billy said in one interwiev " we don't want to be Mr. Big without Pat " and they didn't... huge loss ... They will be always my No 1 Band ... Thank you Mr. Big for memories and great music, voices, songs , energie ... 2021 and still listening your songs in my car .... PAT TORPEY ... you are really missed and loved by many people ... May You Rest In Peace ... :(
That particular duo is very well written. Tasty, skillful, and not even one of the hardest to play. The guitar riff is amazing, the best by Paul Gilbert, imo.
I saw Paul in Nashville a few months back. Billy was a few tables over from us and I got to meet him. He got up and played a song with Paul. Billy was very friendly and Paul is the nicest human being on the planet.
I grew up far far away from USA....but I stumbled upon Paul Gilbert and Addicted to that Rush in my teenage years and it became my (then) life's mission to play that song on stage. And me and my band did...and it was one of the most glorious day of our lives wherein the whole stadium full of people watched aghast with pleasure and it felt like such a rush and we won that battle of the bands competition. It was such a good time and what a ball breaker of a song it was that required months of grueling practice to get tight as an individual and as a band.
Word has it every other guitarist and bassist on the bill was crying backstage after this performance... I was at this gig. Incredible display of musicianship done effortlessly.
I grew up in a small rural city in asia. A handful of Mr.Big cassettes are the soundtrack of my childhood, my brother would play these on a stereo like a ritual every morning. A few years ago we got to see Mr.Big live in San Francisco, and it was one of the most profound and emotional moment of our lives. 20 years ago I would not even dream of that moment being possible.
In their peak days: Eric - Unique, melodic and simply great. Paul - Guitar god and still is. Billy - King of bass and still is. Pat - Above average and was the best heart beat ever for Mr. Big. Few of the super super groups out there, where each member is really a signature version.
IN THE BEGINNING RIP FOR PAT TORPEY 😢GOD BLESS YOU , Saya sangat menantikan ini sejak lama untuk hadir ke INDONESIA, and Soon 13 Agustus 2023 MR.BIG Live 90' Fest in Jakarta,
Couldn't get enough of Mr. Big. We want more live performance but MAN! I think they need to do it one pitch lower for Eric. One of the all time greats. Rock on!!!
@@lightspeedyestermoon274 Actually, just half a step down at the time of this gig. They have continued with this, but on the current (2024) tour, several songs are in lower keys.
Their current drummer helped fill in when Pat was suffering from the effects of his Parkinson’s Disease. It’s obvious that Pat and the rest of the band trusted him to do Mr Big proud and he’s doing great here Sure, he hasn’t quite got Pat’s feel, but who has?
Sad that dude passed away. Loved these guys when I was younger. Bogart's in Cincinnati was the place...I still have Billy and Eric's autograph somewhere...
Totally understand the criticism of Eric Martin’s vocals and agree they should drop the key. Def Leppard did that with their songs and it seems they’re still going strong and sound great. Even the greats like Sinatra, Bennett, Stewart, etc...reworked songs and used vocal techniques to keep performing. Matt Starr seems to play and sing well, just tough to fill in Pat Torpey’s shoes. Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert are monster players individually and I really enjoy how they feed off each other. Will always be one of my favorite bands.
i like this band. Legend band from the beginning until now has not changed its power, but for stamina it has decreased somewhat. But I really like your music mr. big We wish you good health Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, and my favorite bassist Billy Sheehan. and for you Pat Torpey who always smiles, I hope you are happy in heaven there. Aamiin
Saw these guys in SF back in 92, they were amazing. The bans is still great but the singer can't sing as well anymore, age catches up to vocalists, not that he's terrible but he used to be amazing he had a crazy range. Still sounds good enough and Paul and Billy are better than ever.
Great band performance! From the vocal's quality, guitar & bass technical playing.. IMO this band is better than GNR but howcome it's not as famous as GNR. I think you need to make sensations, scandals, conflicts, and most important: the deep character of every band's member.. and GNR has all of these that make it one of the biggest rock band of all-time
I was like Mr Big at blood stock. This will be funny. Start watching and it's like oh yeah they have the best bass player ever. Then they start to play, two notes in and they rock awesome
I saw them in a small club on Paul's 23rd birthday back in November 1989. The rest of the guys smashed his birthday cake on his head during his solo so he had play the rest of the show covered in cake. Eric and Pat hung out and had a few drinks with a bunch of us. Good times. RIP Pat... you're missed.
An audience that doesn't sing to the band right from the start of the set. In my days seeing bands like this everyone knew when to come in and what parts to sing. Mr Big was a band I missed seeing and sad I will never get the chance to. Sad about Pat. RIP brother. You will be missed.
Its painful for me to see Mr Big with Pat Torpey !!! Such a great talent and a real class act. Big hole in the back up vocals without him too. You,ll be missed Pat !!!
Mr Big is gonna disband this year, I know y'all are having mixed feeling about his loss of singing but you gotta respect that his been singing for years and years and reached to this Generation. When I watched the vid "Be with you" Live in this concert, The Comments were toxic against, Cmon guys his doing his best to get back to his feet

Mr. Big is the best rock and rolls band in the world ever because it has the best singer, guitar player, bass player, and drummer. Balance is the word. What it needs now is to write a few more good songs.
Sounds great! They really should play everything down a half step or two, cuz it’s obvious Eric Martin is struggling to reach the higher range of his younger days. This happens to most great singers, of which he is definitely one, it’s just something that happens to singers as they age. The same can be said about Geoff Tate, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, David Lee Roth, Geddy Lee, & countless other hard rock & metal singers. As a singer myself I feel his pain. Still a great vocalist, still a great band
Mr. Big definitely brought color to my school days. Currently 'poisoned' my 5th yo daughter with Green Tinted Sixties Mind, she loves it very very very much, everyday on the repeat. Love you always guys!
Eric is 58 here. I remember when Mr. Big came out with a bang. Eric was only 29. I think he's held his age pretty damn well. Give the guy some credit.
Absolutely! He has been known in Japan where I'm from, one of the best voice in rock'n roll. He deserves all credit.
I am 41, but i look much older than eric.. Hahahaha

His voice still sounds top notch. They all are huge talents. Kind of an unkind comment. If it was easy anyone could do it

DEFINITELY one of the most technically superior bands. All insanely talented musicians and artist. Always one of the Top band that ever came out
Mr Big was why I started bass, though I've been singing. Thanks Mr Big for inspiring - Billy 💪
Agreed! He really is an inspiring bassist to watch and learn from! The solo album he released back in the late 90's wasn't half bad either.
