I remember in the old days when you haved to buy a vhs to see a concert of this guy's........THIS IS GREAT
I remeber the days when an vhs tape of them was not available. I borrowed a lot of rock and metal albums from the local library. The Ritual was the first album I heard. Then also borrowed Low and Live at the Fillmore. Ordered their first two albums from a super marker. No record stores back then and not to this day where I am from.

Yeah definetly not the same vocals especially on "Over the Wall" but not bad for a 50+ metalhead
but his breathing has, he should lose weight as age has caught up to him.

How lucky were those of us who grew up with early Metallica, Testament, Megadeth, Exodus, early Anthrax, Overkill, Slayer, etc. so many legends and pioneers. Although some decent newer bands today, nothing close to the 1983-1993 decade for thrash metal. My youth was spoiled musically!

Don’t sleep on Eric Peterson. He might be the most underrated guitarist in Metal, a full-on , next-level Riff Lord
Agreed! I've always said that Testament is nothing short of a supergroup with this lineup.
My favorite of all the old school thrash bands. Chuck is the best thrash singer, and they have always been great live.
Man between Eric playing rhythm and Alex playing lead with their harmonizing nobody does it better in my opinion and I've been listening to them with Testament since 1988. Keep Rocking guys cause age is just a number 👍🤘🎤🎸.
Alex plays every solo with the guitar pointed straight up- he is an absolute monster!
Yeah it’s really insane. These aren’t light guitars either! All of these Les Paul style guitars weigh 9.5-10 lbs. It’s already tough to play fast leads on them holding them the regular way.

I agree, and I have been going to their shows since 1991, I've seen them more than any other band.. They are my absolute favorite though....
I saw one where the sound was absolutely horrid, and they were visibly bothered by it. BUT, as a countermeasure, they tried to rile thr crowd up even more. True professionalism. (Unlike Yngwie who tossed his guitar and b*tched at the engineers in plain sight)

I posted a question on Jason Becker’s channel about why Yngwie didn’t appear on the Triumphant Hearts album. The Becker family replied to me and said, “he was invited.” Yngwie has always been a jerk IMO.

Yeah it's always bad when old metal bands lose their vocals with age like Dave Mustaine in Megadeth. But to be fair Dave has metal plates in his neck from post surgery and also has had throat cancer.

To this day, the testament and slayer show I seen when I was 18 or so is still the best...no one hase inspired me more than Alex with my playing. Steve....way proud to see you sporting your thor's hammer!!!
Alex Skolnick’s solo on Into The Pit is absolutely perfect. I’m always so blown away by him.
A) Testament is by far the best thrash metal band at this point IMO and I feel Chuck is an underrated frontman!

Testament still to this day my favorite metal band and I've been a fan since1988. The duo between Alex and Eric playing guitar is just awesome and then throw in Gene on drums and Steve on bass. These guys to this day are better than ever👍🎤🎸

I've always found Testament better than Metallica. I'm not saying that Metallica is bad, but after the album Load, I dropped out. Testament deserves much more appreciation.
Testament smokes Metallica especially in the lead guitar department! Skolnick pretty much smokes everyone on guitar!
Testament stayed true, Metallica added sweetness and "radio flavour"

@@eberbacher007 The Ritual is a thing that happened. Far more commercial and dull, IMO, than either of the "Loads". Though both paled in comparison to Megadeth's Risk.

Such a solid show,every time I think I’ll watch for a moment I watch to finale.saw them my first time in ‘89 at First Ave Minneapolis during the Big ‘89 San Francisco earthquake (their hometown) I remember them dedicating the song “The Preacher” to their homeboys in their shook city while they were out crushing it.
The band is absolutely amazing, but Chuck and Alex deserve a special chapter. After his disease, Chuck returned even better, and Alex Sckolnick is the best guitar player in thrash. Hands up to the band and many years headbangin' to come.

Been a fan of them since day 2. Friend gave me "the Legacy" and the world has never been the same since. Seen them open for Judas Priest.... they have never disappointed..... and have never let the fans down, stayed true to their music... unlike another we all know........................

This is an all-star Thrash Metal band big time. Every member is a Master at their instrument. I have seen this lineup twice so far , and they are insanely PHENOMENAL live. They are heavier and more aggressive now than they were thirty years ago. Most bands that get older slow it down, not Testament.

I seen Testament at THE BACKROOM in Austin, TX. on May 15, 1993. I lost a game of pool to Chuck Billy before the show. I turned him and one of his roadies onto some LSD and we all tripped our balls off thru the whole show. GOOD TIMES!!!!

They still sound just as good as they did back in the day.
Even better due to the better equipment. The modern metal amps that came out in the 90s and after have a much thicker heavier tone compared to the Marshalls they used to record the early albums.
You can hear the difference with First Strike Still Deadly. Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier is used for sure.
