I've never played a BlazBlue game, but I bought this purely to contribute to the push for rollback and support Arc System Works even further (in addition to getting Strive when it released). Rollback is just so important and it's the main reason I even gave Strive a shot. I want this trend to continue.
Here’s a fun idea for the comment section, if Max did end up playing some online matches (or something offline like Grim of Abyss), what character could you see him playing as? Me personally I’d could see him playing Susanoo (because he liked him in BBTag), Azrael (because Unga bunga), Ragna (plays close to Sol) or Terumi (because stomping your opponent’s face into the ground is always fun). What about the rest of you?
Terumi is fun if you get the right setup you theoretically combine a majority of his supers into one combo since his OD allows him to cancel supers into other supers. Look up Unlimited Terumi if interested
hey Max, you missed Susano'o's true overdrive, his whole mechanic is unlocking runes. you only had 1/10 runes, and the super animation changes and incorporates all the runes if you unlocked them.
12:15 Long story short is that Hazama was originally a soulless vessel for the spirit Yuki Terumi though eventually the two were permanently separated. You are right about Yuki Terumi being the evil version of Hazama, and considering Hazama is a cruel sociopath that says a lot about how vile Terumi is.
The fact that he pronounced Rachel as Raquel, probably completely unaware that there is indeed an alternate version of her named Raquel is some beautiful irony.
I really like Jubei's, dude's using his tails to dual wield katanas and then pins you to the wall and slices you up with everything at once, the last strike actually deflates it a bit i'd have built up the wall pin a bit more. Amane is a "needs more drills" out of 10.
Same man. Honestly with the rollback being PC only and DLC still being an extra expense to the game, I think it would be a solid call to make a CF Extend for PS4/5 that doesn't add anything new like the previous Extends but just includes the DLC by default and then they can add a dub for that.
I am very excited about this. About a year ago I was dragged down the fighting game rabbit hole(in preparation for Strive) and out of all the games I tried(Accent Core, Xrd, Tekken 7, Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue), nothing gripped me as strong as Centralfiction(even watched the entire story lmao). I had so much fun with Es and Susano-o and the prospect of actually trying to learn them in an online setting that actually works is very hype.
I agree with Max. Please give it a shot if you like what you see. I can't see a damn thing and I like it. I think it was all the playable big bads that made me buy this thing around Christmas of 2017, subsequently delving into the series. That, and the myriad of distortions and exceed accels.
7:20 I read a marvel comic where Daredevil comes across Squirrel Girl in the Avengers mansion. DD's thought bubbles says that she smells like, surprise surprise, squirrels. Ever since then bunny and cat ears no longer do it for me. Fur smells and sheds.
There are definitely 2 reasons people like Litchi, but I am surprised at how many people are playing her given her pseudo-puppet mechanics and manual timing requirements. She's very fun and it feels great to do her stuff though
Blazblue Central Fiction has not been updated over 10 years. The arcade version came out in 2015, and the console version came out in 2016. the different blazblues are different games, they are NOT the same game. they all have different stories, continuing after the previous ones. Calamity Trigger is the 1st one, Continuum Shift is the 2nd one and had 3 versions, which were Continuum Shift, Continuum Shift 2 and Continuum Shift Extend, then the 3rd one was Chrono Phantasma, which had 2 versions, which are Chrono Phantasma and Chrono Phantasma Extend, a.k.a. Chrono Phantasma 2.0 and the 4th one is Central Fiction. so the game has been supported for 7 years or so, if you count the arcade version of CF.
My only beef, is that Noel's overdrive is just recycling her distortions, like everyone else had relatively original animations but for Noel its mostly recycled the rail gun at the end seems to be the only original animation given. Also its way too long, you could pass it off as a BBCT astral
21:06 CF came out in 2015 so it's only beem about 6 years, not 10+. For 10+ years of support and updates you can look at League of Legends or UnReal World, for example.
This game started out being accused by GG fans as a baby, budget GG, but now it's a bigger and more complex game than most GGs. While GG became less complex, BB became more complex with each game.
I'd still say this and +R are about the same level. Let's also not forget that GG in general also got more complex each game, and only started to become less complex with Xrd, not to mention that BB didn't get a new entry in this time of trying to make fighting games simpler. Of course, depending on how you see the game, you could also say that BBTag, which is the most recent game, did simplify stuff But either way, people back then were stupid for putting faith in such meaningless comparisons. Blazblue was never Guilty Gear, and it didn't need to be. Even in its first iteration, it was its own thing, and its differences went beyond stuff like simplicity or difficulty
This is my top Fighting Game of All Time. Yes I say it. I love the Charakter, the World the rules and the lore. And this Animation. This Game in the New Look from Arc System Works damm.
I would go absolutely nuts if they actually added new characters to CF or even just straight up gave us a new game. Dark War has added a ton of characters like Ciel, Ripper, and Saya that would translate super well into the main series and I desperately want to get more people into the games because they are phenomenal.
its more likely to get a new game. Ragna story is now over. they dropped Cross tag a few years ago. They are def making a new game. once Strive hype dies down ArcSys will show it. just like they did with strive and every one was shocked at its new trailer.
I love this game, even though I'm a blind guy, it has no English dub, and no text to speech translations. Got me into the franchise. I think it's the villains, mostly. Love Susanoo's crazy souped up distortion when you unlock all his specials, and he just goes nuts with every single move before shooting the opponent with that final beam attack. You know how many hours I've spent reading wiki articles to get descriptions of this stuff? hehheh
Dark War is a cancer, let that game die damn it. On the other hand, yeah a new entry to the franchise would totally be awesome! But it will take some time since the mobile game will soon close its servers.
I wouldn't mind added stuff to CF honestly I would love them to incorporate Naoto's Bloodedge experience story since a lot of people cant get access or just explain all this in a entirely new game. access to the manga
I like Ragna more than sol (controversial i know) but i think sol is to try hard to be a badass but ragna is also a try hard and emo to boot but with him his reaction is so funny

Also rate all the supers when?
14:05 the cool part of all vampires created by arcsys. they are so strong that any fight just bores the fuck out of them.
Vampires are typically strong in japanese culture in general
I really like the artwork of this game
Thank you for shouting out this game. The franchise means a lot to so many people and it's really heartwarming.
The video you did of Astral finishes years ago is what brought me back to the series. Never stopped playing since then. My best friend and I only consider wins on who can get the most Astral in a set now. Lol, Thanks dood!
Man I brought BB CF years ago and barely even played it, I forgot I even had this game. Perfect time for me to finally jump into it. I haven’t played Blazblue seriously since Calamity Trigger.
*sees valkenhyn transform*
"WHAT THE SHIT"
LMAO
Hes a werewolf?
Susano'o doing his EA to Nine and getting a nine was satisfying
I bought the game recently. As a newcomer to fighting games in general, it's a little tougher than it looks. But the combo labs are fun as hell.
Noel's Exceed Accel feels like an Astral Finish, imo
It is a copy of the instant kill of Aigis in persona 4 arena.
But which came first
@@eppie899 P4A 2012
BBCF 2015
Aigis came first
It's Aigis' instant kill from Persona 4 Arena
Noel literally stocked up on ordinance with her Exceed
I actually can't believe he did a Rate the Super for this game which he admitted he didn't even like or was never interested, before he did one for KOF 14. Crazy. Still waiting for that one. 😂
@@starbreaker6441 but if you look at his history of doing them he would usually do a legacy based on the announcement of a game then followed by a rate the super
Dude the more I watch Max over the years, the more I just wanna sit down and TALK VIDEO GAMES with him. I feel max over the years has developed just a good way of understanding video games and I generally just love his opinion cause he literally HAS YEARS ON KNOWING THE INDUSTRY. This guy is just a god.
Max doing Blazblue! Great day!
*Sees Noel get a 10/10*
My heart just skipped a beat.😁❤️
Started replaying this game and forgot how much fun it is
I am so glad that this game got rollback now. I always prefered the look of BB over GG and now I can finally play the game online
He seemed to like kokonoe
Hopefully we'll get Tatsunoko vs Capcom rate the super one day, that game had some amazing supers
Still home of the best super Zero ever had with Dark Hold
hey Max, you missed Susano'o's true overdrive, his whole mechanic is unlocking runes. you only had 1/10 runes, and the super animation changes and incorporates all the runes if you unlocked them.
he only did the EA's though
You're right on the mechanic but wrong move
12:15 Long story short is that Hazama was originally a soulless vessel for the spirit Yuki Terumi though eventually the two were permanently separated. You are right about Yuki Terumi being the evil version of Hazama, and considering Hazama is a cruel sociopath that says a lot about how vile Terumi is.
someone in arc systems really loves Kokonoe
I wasnt expecting this at all
The fact that he pronounced Rachel as Raquel, probably completely unaware that there is indeed an alternate version of her named Raquel is some beautiful irony.
Every single one required a great amount of effort to animate. I would give 10 to all as I can't make any better than them.
It amazes me how many characters have been added into this game
I really like Jubei's, dude's using his tails to dual wield katanas and then pins you to the wall and slices you up with everything at once, the last strike actually deflates it a bit i'd have built up the wall pin a bit more.
Amane is a "needs more drills" out of 10.
Even if it has been over five years, I still have some hope that they’ll make an English dub for this game.
Well there's BBTAG, so characters that made in BBCF like Naoto and Susanoo got an english dub.
ur more likely better off waiting for the next mainline BB game starring Naoto
It's such a shame given how talented the English cast was
There IS someone working on a mod for English, using the assets from previous games and Cross Tag.
Same man. Honestly with the rollback being PC only and DLC still being an extra expense to the game, I think it would be a solid call to make a CF Extend for PS4/5 that doesn't add anything new like the previous Extends but just includes the DLC by default and then they can add a dub for that.
Blazblue is the poster child of underrated fighting games
sadly that he dont know that for susanos overdrive move is best to have unlocked all seals, to make him creat the greatest show :(
I am very excited about this.
Really hope Capcom takes a note from this and adds rollback to some of their older titles.
Nice video max blazblue has been and is still to this day my favorite fighting game of all time so thanks for checking out the overdrives
Do people still not realize that all of the Blazblue games are separate installments, and only CS and CP received updated versions?
6:16 Just because of his transformation he's my Main.
7:10 all her supers are good
Max referencing card captor Sakura for platinum really threw me for a loop there.
13:21 Vergil’s Air Rave. (Now With Ice!!)
Jubei's Astral is way more dope than your reaction suggests, what the hell.
For those thinking of the sale price its going to end in a FEW HOURS
Regular price is about 40 so get this great game while its low
There are definitely 2 reasons people like Litchi, but I am surprised at how many people are playing her given her pseudo-puppet mechanics and manual timing requirements. She's very fun and it feels great to do her stuff though
I mean they are fairly big reasons. But by that metric you'd think Makoto would be wildly popular..
Guess she's too honest of a character.
I haven't really looked at BB since a little after the initial game. This reminded me how many character designs they have that I enjoyed.
Cool, now rate the actual supers
BlazBlue has some super unique character designs, it’s on competition with Guilty Gear and Skullgirls
11:20 his reaction killed me
I love how Max counted Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan activation to Bang's score
18:45 That's straight out of the Lancer vs Saber fight in Fate-Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works
One of my favorite games ever
7:47- Progressively Larger Guns: The Super
My only beef, is that Noel's overdrive is just recycling her distortions, like everyone else had relatively original animations but for Noel its mostly recycled the rail gun at the end seems to be the only original animation given. Also its way too long, you could pass it off as a BBCT astral
I gotta note, Izayoi's Exceed is also an install that recharges her resources. I dunno if that helps a lot but it might bump it up a point.
Am glad that max did remember blazblue cf that did make me happy
Hey, Max. Can we get a return to the hype check series? I'm curious why you may have bounced off of this one.
Damn, these are only the Exceed Accels and not the actual Distortion supers or their Overdrive versions.
21:06
CF came out in 2015 so it's only beem about 6 years, not 10+.
For 10+ years of support and updates you can look at League of Legends or UnReal World, for example.
Give Noel's some cinematic camera angles and a bit more flash, and it may as well be an astral.
Of course, depending on how you see the game, you could also say that BBTag, which is the most recent game, did simplify stuff
But either way, people back then were stupid for putting faith in such meaningless comparisons. Blazblue was never Guilty Gear, and it didn't need to be. Even in its first iteration, it was its own thing, and its differences went beyond stuff like simplicity or difficulty
@@blackpants7385 Yea +R and CF are the peak of each franchise, great variety of characters, mechanics and execution.
Just got this game for the rollback with some friend and I’ve been playing arakune and jubei and having a great time, finally getting some combos done
Great game, Great online community, respectful.
What I would give to see the story continue in a new fighting game.
its more likely to get a new game.
My personal favourite is the cat girl with the missile barrage.
Finally people are talking about Blazblue again
MAX the actual supers are the "distortion drives", the exceed accels are something different because it's based on their overdrive install state that everyone has access to that's different per character
